10 weeks, 14

Recommended Posts

I can't believe that today marks 10 weeks since my Lap-Band Surgery. The time has just flown by and I am feeling better than ever.

This week sees another .5kg loss for me bringing my total weight loss so far to 14.5kg. Again it is another fairly small one but I am okay with it... I have clocked up another year on the calendar of life this week as well (42!!) and although I haven't over-eaten, I haven't counted calories either. I have one more celebration (and my Mum's birthday as well) this weekend and I don't intend to count those calories either. After all, that's what life is all about - we still need to enjoy these times.

I also had my first 'stuck' episode last night as well - on chicken - which I had been warned about. It was quite chewy chicken and I know that I didn't chew it properly either. Was a little bit (a lot bit) uncomfortable but I was able to 'remove' it fairly quickly and painlessly and I was able to enjoy the rest of my meal. It is one of those things that was always going to happen at some point but boy did it make me sit up and think and take more notice of the way I eat. I would really like to avoid this happening to me again.

Anyway, life's good and I'm feeling great and I look forward to checking in again next week xx

You're doing great ! Congrats. Those stuck episodes are rough, but mine are fewer and farther between these days. Live and learn, right? Keep up the good work!

Congrats! That's awesome. I know what you mean about taking another look at who you eat. I have had only 2 stuck episodes. The first wasn't so bad, just very uncomfortable and hard to breath for a minute. the second one, just a few days ago, was so painful! So not fun, but in a weird way I am grateful for it, too. It is a reminder that I really do have this tool inside my body now, and it really is working. But I definitely want to take it to heart and not do that again if I can help it!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
