What is the difference with being in the green zone and having restriction? For the first time in 7 years since getting my band, I am not hungry after a fill. I have been told that is the green zone. What then does it mean to have restriction?

  3. Hello, I have been banded for 4 years with highly exceeding my expectations getting to a weight (123lb) I did not think I'd ever see again after 2 years. It wasn't always easy as the first 9 months I didn't feel restriction even though my surgeon was aggressive with the fills. Then when I started to get some restriction I filled at one point too tight. I then slowly had unfills mainly due to reflux. Not eating much, not being hungry and not eating some of my killer foods like bread, Pasta, and Diet Coke was great. It was the reason I did this in the first place. After a last unfill a year ago which gave great relief to the reflux I thought I was basically in the g…

I had cramping and abdominal discomfort for about a year now. It really stinks. What I did was I told my surgeon on Long Island, New York what was happening. He told me that I should get the port of the band re adjusted and anchored again. I am going for surgery on Wednesday to get it replaced. I was feeling discomfort and cramping in my abdominal and it is terrible. Has anyone got this done or had anything done with this? My surgeon said if that doesn't fix the problem he is going to remove it all together. It did help me lose a ton of weight though.. that is a good thing.

  5. I've been taking Opurity's Band Optimized Multivitamin Orange Berry Chewable since my surgery. Just went to re-order today and it seems to be discontinued. Very frustrating. They still have a band vitamin, but it's a capsule, which will never go down. And really, it's just a bypass and sleeve vitamin you take 2x per day instead of 4x. They still carry a similar one for "Bypass & Sleeve Optimized," but nearly all vitamins are doubled in value. Guess I could cut it in 1/2? Or just take it anyway and get over it? What daily mulivitamin's have folks had success with? Need a chewable that's only 1x per day. Anything gummy will not work for me. Thanks!

Hello all! So I have lost 58kg so far, high fives to meam getting concerned about my skin now especially around my lower stomach. Been told I am at the verge/border line of it being to far gone to fix. I am seeing a personal trainer who thinks building muscle is the answer. But the thing is she reckons I already have fantastic muscle definition so really how buff do I need to get. I want a feminin figure. So I am doing my own research alongside exercise. But would love to hear about what has actually worked for other people, there are so many gimmicks and theories out there. Thanks guys. Sent from my ZTE V830W using the BariatricPal App

(Long - Sorry) I have posted before about this. I was banded on 4/4/08 with no problems until September. I started having a "stomach pain" which my doctor said I had a UTI and put me on 3 different antibiotics finally went to Gynecologist and had ultrasound for female stuff - all okay and she started me on 1 more antibiotic because she said I still had UTI. Beginning 3 weeks ago I started having shortness of breath. Went to an internist, they did catscans, xrays, bloodwork, etc. everything came back normal. Still was having shortness of breath and stomach pain (on right side kinda high). I have already had my gallbladder out in 2003 - so its not that. I went to my lapba…

I've been having difficulty eating for about a month. I went for an Upper GI & was told my esophagus was dilated. I went on liquids for a week & then tried food again. I was ok for a couple of days, but then started vomiting again. I called my dr again, they sent me for another Upper GI, which I had done yesterday. I'm back on liquids b/c I can't keep solids down. I found out yesterday my band slipped. I won't see the dr until next week. I've been reading a lot. I thought I was going to have to have the band taken out, but from what I've read they may be able to reposition it or "unbuckle" it. Not sure what to do, I guess I'll know more after I see the dr. 9. I've been banded since 2011 and I am struggling to find green. In the last 3 years I've actually gained back 40 of the 70 lbs I had lost due to bouncing back and forth from either being too tight or too loose. Obviously I've developed some poor eating habits along the way. I am highly discouraged but also trying to get back on track. I've found that 7.2 in a 10cc band led to me not even being able to breathe comfortably lol. Had some Fluid immediately taken out to 6.9cc which was ok in terms of no hunger but I found there were often days where I couldn't get food down or I'd get food down and still have nightly acid reflux. Needless to say after a couple months of trying …

I am so frustrated. Over the last few weeks I'm stuck. I've been bouncing between a couple of pounds and am not losing. I'm eating around or under 800 calories. I'm excercising daily burning 500-1000 calories a day. Biking, swimming, tennis drills. Usually I do 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day of sweating activity. The least is one hour a day burning 700 calories. No salt is added to my diet. I'm getting my protein Or exceeding. I'm drinking lots of water. I've got a high school reunion in 7 weeks. My band is working I can't eat much. What can I do?

I have been banded around 7 months now. I have only done walking for exercise until today. Today I tried kickboxing at the gym to start changing it up and I could feel the muscles around my port pulling as I moved during exercise. It was not painful but it was very uncomforable and noticable. My port is located under my breasts smack center of my tummy about 6 inches above my belly button. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to pull it out of place. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Focused on the last 40 lbs. I continue to put Protein first, wait an hour to drink after meals, no baked goods, sugar, flour, so on. Challenges continue to be trying to love exercise. I am still not consistent. I will get in a groove and the life gets in the way and it will have been a week since I did a planned exercise. I do add intentional movement throughout the day but I know 210 dedicated minutes would be better. I still have head hunger and can not have sweets around me. It has not been easy but so glad I did it and celebrating improved health and enjoying life.

  19. Well I quit smoking a year ago, didn't adjust my band and eventually I was quickly on the road back to North Fatassery. That caused me to get a fill in March that had no effect, then I got another one about 2 weeks ago (did I just hear a harp playing?) and that hit my happy spot like you wouldn't believe. I've already lost 12 pounds and I'm feeling great but the problem with going unmanaged for so long is that you forget the fundamentals of bandism - how to drink, how to eat, portions...you know. Anyway I was waiting for the fill to settle (it always takes me 3 weeks to figure out what has actually changed) and have constantly run into the problem of getting stuck. No…

I thought that the relationship between losing weight/appetite level/clothing size was straight forward, but now I'm confused and need perspective. As a 3-month post-op, I only had 1 fill so far and I wanted to get my second fill since it took me 1 week just to lose 1 pound, and then I remained the same weight for another week. My surgeon said I should come in for another fill once my weight loss stalls. I am feeling hungrier, but I still only eat once or twice a day. When I'm hungry I try ignore the sensation as long as possible. Part of me feels that if I get a second fill it just might be too tight for me to eat anything, or it'll take away the hunger sensation like…

After seeing my PA a lap band adjustment and deciding I didn't;t require and un-fill this appointment... he suggested that I drink about a half of cup or Water prior to eating as the pouch fills up with saliva and then creates you to slim once you start to eat. 37. Hi all, Today marks 5 months since I had an emergency operation to remove my lap-band due to over-restriction resulting in a pouch dilation. I pleaded with my surgeon not to take it out. When they put me under I still thought they were just going to re-adjust it. When I woke I was told it was removed. I vomited and cried with the shock. My recovery was incredibly slow and far more painful than the initial operation to have it put in. Since that time I have been working hard not to gain any weight. Exercising, watching my intake etc, but just talking about it gets me upset. My surgeon and the clinic gave me no support and denied all responsibility, blaming it on me. I …

I made tons of friends, well over a hundred, that also had the band. I sit here today honestly amazed that they still perform this surgery in the United States. For every one person I know that I can say is happy they still have their lap band I can think of 20 that regret the decision. I was frustrated that none of the local doctors would take me because I was banded out of the country, and I gave up. This month I moved to Henderson, NV. 50. After leaving the office I can constantly feel the band inside my chest. I'm six weeks post-op and just had my first fill today, and I also never had problems with keeping down food before. Is this a normal feeling and does it go away? It's not painful but being able to constantly sense it is distracting me, it feels like I'm being squeezed. Also, I'm told to only have liquids for 3 days. Each time I take a small sip of my Protein shake it makes the sensation feel heavier and I'm burping several times each time. Does it get better after 3 days or should my band be unfilled? I've lost 19 pounds since the band was put in with no fill.
