I love all the posts on this site and without you all, I'd be so lost. I was sleeved in Mexico with no follow up and all my post op instructions were on two pieces of paper. For those who answer respectfully to those struggling, you rock! I appreciate those who don't have a sense of entitlement to be rude or look down on those who need help or feel a need to say what's stupid and what's not. So, thank you for helping my journey along and making it successful!

I was scheduled to have my gallbladder removed (finally!) on December 18, 2012. I went into the OR for surgery around 2:30 pm... and woke up around 3pm gagging, feeling like I'd been run over by a train, convinced I was dying! Apparently, during intubation my heart rate galloped up to 180, dropped down to 40, ramped back up to 190, then plummeted back down to 60. At that point, my wonderful surgeon called off the gallbladder operation. Instead of a smooth GB removal as an outpatient, I spent 4 days and 3 nights in the hospital. How long post-op did any of you wait or did you wait to get perms or color in your hair? Mine is falling out some and has been even pre-op when i did such a drastic calorie drop etc.. My protein is usually about 90gs 0r more per day and i have begun to take Biotin. I haven't even cut it. Will the chemicals increase the hair loss? Thanks for the input!

I have a question for all of you that have had this surgery. How much of your excessive weight have you lost? My surgeon said that I should lose about 60-70% of my excessive weight. I would like to lose all of it but I know that may be impossible. Or is it impossible?

Sometimes I just lay back and listen to my body work. I was never this LOUD before but I feel like I hear everything. Eating is especially funny because it feels like.... suction? I guess? A little goes down at a time and I hear that "creaking" sound. It's just funny to me. My boss asked me if anything felt different. I wanted to tell him it was like that movie Alien, but i didn't.

I was sleeved on Nov 26th I have Gone from my highest weight pre-op at 423 to my current weight 7 weeks pre-0p at 348 with the majority of that being post-op loss. Thats a total of 76lbs since this time last year when our Journey began. Yes I have had support from friends ,my Husband, my children but most of all from My sister "Kapoorvilla". Just ran out on my lunch hour to d**k's Sporting Goods to get goggles for my swimming lessons.... they were having a clearance sale ( additonal 50% lowest ticket price). I purchased 3 Dri-Fit workout shirts in size MEDIUM... MED-DEE-UMMMMMMM!!!! for $6 each... I was tempted to buy more but since I still have weight to lose these will due for now.... They had a LOT of XL and XXL stuff on the clearance rack..not much in medium... So I was reminded 1 of the downsides of losing weight...the middle sizes are the first to go... the extremely tiny and the humungous clothes seem to hang around the racks a little longer, especially in stores like this...

It is 40 days of yoga combined with at least one weekly meeting, with discussions included in a book "40 Dyas to Personal Revolution". It is free, but you need to pay for the yoga lessons. Is anyone having surgery on the 25th of January?

hiya, i had the sleeve in july and found out today im pregnant. im worried that i wont be able to give the baby all the nutrients it needs does anyone know anyone who is pregnant after the op?

So, I am in my way to the hospital. My band to sleeve revision is TODAY.... To say I am extremely nervous would be a huge understatement!!! I am scared to death, I am a worrier by nature. I am confident with my surgeon I just worry about complications. Wish me luck, and if you are of the praying type, please send a couple up for me and my caregivers today. I'm sure it's been discussed before but I'm having a terrible time with acid. Lots of churning and gurgling in my stomach. When I eat it feels like the food is getting stuck and it doesn't matter if I take 2 bites or five it all comes back up. I can keep liquids down. Protein shakes make me sick to my stomach but I manage to keep them down. This has been getting worse over the last week and I have called the surgeon's office three times and no return call yet. Any ideas? Could this be a hernia. I take prevacid once a day as per doc and it does nothing. I'm 9 weeks post op

I'm scheduled for January 8th and started my pre-op diet on Dec 26. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. My doc allows 3 shakes and 2 high protein bars and a 5 oz protein dinner with two cups of non-starch veggies. The protein really suppresses the appetite, but of course I have some head hunger. Head hunger is much easier for me to deal with when my physical hunger is under control (this is why I loved the HCG diet). I have also been sipping on chicken broth in between for something savory, which is only 20 calories in a can. How is everyone else doing on the POD? Shannon

I've never been put under before. I have just one c-section under my belt in terms of surgery, so this is all foreign territory to me. I know surgery is fairly quick, but are you still out for awhile afterward?

About a week after surgery in the middle of the night I got dizzy and sweaty and almost passed out I sat down and drank water because I knew I hadn't had enough water that day.. I felt better after drinking water so I brushed it off. Today im 2 months post and I went to have FASTING blood work done I'm sitting there in the room they put u n waiting on the nurse and I got that same feeling only this time I wake up laying down with 3 ppl standing around me asking if I'm ok. hi, now I am on the pre op diet and count down to surgery I have begun to think about post op diet that I will be following and realised that I don't actually know what it will be. Do other UK people know what your post op diet will be? :-)

Anyone else feel sad they wont be able to binge eat after surgery. I feel down I won't be able to. I know it's not good for me but to not be able to eat 'normally' is a strange feeling.

So, I know we have to eat differently, small bites, chew a lot (and a lot and a lot....). Is the chewing thing the way it is forever, or just immediately post surgery? I'm wondering if the digestive process works the same.

Give them what they will pay for: A way to eat more without the consequence. I hope this never makes it out of the FDA it seems like a medical stamp of approval to an eating disorde!

Does any one get a weird sensation in their stomach and intestines like a coldness or tingling when they lay down for bed. I don't know how to explain it. But it's weird. And does any one get little random points of pain in their body. Just a little pinch or ting here and there?

I'm trying to be optimistic about the sleeve but I'm having a bit of deja vu to when I got banded. I was banded back in 2008. I have not had the best experience. Only lost 40 pounds, then put it back on when I was having horrible reflux and the doctor opened my band. Got it retighten to only have the same symptoms come back to find out I had a dilated pouch from a slipped band. I was so fed up with all the bad issues from the band (consistent vomiting, having to stand up to eat a bite, consistently going back to dr to get a "sweet spot" I never found, chocking at night from reflux). I just wanted the band out! However my doctor highly recommended that I did not do that …

So the surgery schedular called today. I am scheduled for January 2nd. Though she tells me she hasnt heard back from my insurance yet which I find odd. I have met all their requirements and she told me not to stress it. I guess I need to relax she sees this stuff everyday.

I am 30 years old and has my surgery on 6/25/2012, I have lost about 50lbs so far. I am 6 months out and stuck! I feel like i haven't lost any weight in a while! A new year and a new body! My goal for 2013 is to drop 100lbs! But I'm also really looking forward to some of those non-scale victories, even if they take a little longer. Here's some items from my wishlist: - No more squeezing into tiny bathroom stalls! Though I swear some of them have the TP dispenser at the worst place possible to really CRAM your legs in there! - Going to a clothing store and not having to search for the "plus" side. - Not having my knees grinding under my weight when I go up and down stairs. - Wearing a swimsuit that doesn't have a freaking skirt attached - Wearing dresses and not having my thighs rub together til they're raw - Boots! so Im wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I got my sleeve done november 30 2012 and Ive lost 22 pounds since. but Ive hit a stall now. it bounces between 1 pound up, and one pound down....any advice to get this moving again?

I had my sleeve done on nove 30 2012 and I was feeling great until three days ago when I started feeling very sick, and nothing I eat (that usually agrees with me) doesn't agree with me. just wondering if this is common?

I'm almost 6 weeks out and I've ha zero issues, not that I'm complaining at all. I've had spicy, dairy sometimes is iffy, but I've even had a drink and nothing. Sometimes for my own sake I wish certain things bothered me for my own good. I'm very thankful that I've had no issues, other than doing a lot if head work

Hey everyone!! I recently got my insurance approval on Friday and will have my surgery scheduled for january sometime....I'm so incredibly scared. I've had the lap band before and had to have it removed last November so to go thru surgery again is nerve racking but I know soooooo worth it. Well, I work with a bunch or ladies that are very clicky and judgmental. I am often left out or looked over because I am quiet and probably overweight. I am eager to find out how the ladies treat me once I am thinner. Deep down I hope they treat me the same, because it would be very sad to think they don't like me because I am heavy. Has anyone else noticed that people treat you different after weight loss?

Hello fellow sleevers, I am only 3 1/2 weeks post-op and today I started having a lot of back pain. Since I have not had any problems and I am scared to death to develop a leak I wanted to get your opinion. anyone with a leak can you describe where your pain was and how long you had it?

Because I was so discourage of my results for my 1 year anniversary, I dug myself out of the hole and decided to do something about it! So today I started the 5 day reset. So far so good.
