Had my surgery 2 days ago, so far so good. No problem or complication so far. The only problem I have is the ounces every 15 min... My breakfast tray was brought to me yesterday with 3.5 oz of jello, Popsicle 1.5 oz, coffee, and 2 10.1oz bottle of water with crystal light. I ate it all at once... then was told, I was to measure it off 4oz per hour. This is going to be a long week. But, I am happy and healthy came off of 5 medications before coming home. Happy to be on this journey. Sent from my Z983 using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello everyone! I am reaching the end of my 4th day after surgery and I must admit, this recovery has been extremely rough on me. I've been in excruciating pain. My entire left quadrant, both upper and lower are extremely sore and sensitive to touch. My ribs hurt, I could barely walk on my own, I can't stand, sit or even move without assistance. I was barely even able to talk. (( I'm not gonna get into details about the gas part.. it hurts to even remember it )) I am making progress.. slower than a turtles pace.. but some progress is better than no progress.. right? *baby steps* I was in the hospital a little longer as well. Not being able to walk was a setback fo…

Let me firstly start by saying this operation and the complications that come thereafter arw not only confusing but just never seem to stop. My sister had this operation 2.5yrs ago with a success story. She lost weight and was looking great. 2.5 years later she started putting on weight again and went back to the same doctor to perform the surgery again. Whilst i have no idea what the criteria is for this operation her weight was 100kg at 1,74 in height. This operation took place 4 months ago and its been a nightmare from the word go. A week after having the operatiin she was rushed back into hospital in icu on life supporting machines. She had septacemina from a gastric …

----I know everyone stalls and everyone is losing at different rates..I'm fairly confident some stall a lot more often than others, and the slow losers bench is pretty full - I'm just curious about stories from some successful slow losers, who battled the constant stalls, & slow weight loss.. I've read many helpful posts, most say up protein and more exercise, I'm just not sure that's the ticket for the more frequent, slow loser, stallers.. Any advise, tips, tricks, encouraging journies that can be shared, will certainly be appreciated -- I'm doing pretty good but stall often, surgery 29/05/17---down 50lbs-- I'm happy with that, not happy with the long stalls lol -

  8. Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my gastric sleeve journey so far and I apologise for the long post I am making here. I'm 53 years old and have battled my weight all my life. In my early 40's I started taking Blood Pressure medication, I was also diagnosed with Graves Disease. My cholesterol and glucose have always been good. Well that was up until 4 months ago. I went to the doctors and for the first time ever my cholesterol shot up and my doctor informed me I was Insulin resistant. I was now very scared that at 168.3 kgs, (371 pounds) I wasn't going to make it to 60. So after years of badgering me, I finally asked my doctor to refer me to a Weight…

I am getting my sleeve this Thursday and I am so excited!! I have to say I am a bit nervous though, not exactly sure why. I only have a 1 day liquid diet the day before my surgery and as silly as it may seem I am really looking forward to it. I think it will all finally seem real once Wednesday gets here! Anyone else getting sleeved the same day?

I've been contemplating this for years now. I had bilateral knee surgery in early 2014 and cannot exercise like I was beforehand and weight has gotten out of control. I'm ready for anything as I am out of shape and need to get myself together. My happiness is important and I know this tool will be my catapult and all I need to do is keep moving and do exactly what I'm told. I'm just concerned about my 'no gallbladder' situation as I haven't read much on anyone having theirs out years before surgery... meaning, is my body going to act way different than one who still has theirs. I know I'm ready and with the support from others I will get to my goal weight. I'm 57 arou…

Hi all. Brand new to the forum but so glad I found you all! Any Aussies about? Anyone else having sleeve on Friday?? I have told nearly no one about my surgery so relying on some new mates here! Would love to hear from you all!! ????

  13. Well, I am officially going in to have my sleeve converted to a gastric bypass this Friday, September 1st. I am 5'5" and 150 pounds and never thought I'd be starting the Bariatric process over again after having the sleeve surgery three years ago, but here I am! For the past couple of years I have struggled with severe GERD, regularly throwing up both food and water which has made life really challenging. I am thankful that my surgery is happening because of complications and not regain (my biggest fear!), but I am admittedly overwhelmed and anxious about the possibility of further complications. Luckily I wholeheartedly trust my surgeon and team and am in good hands, but…

I will be 9 months post op from the sleeve on September 16th and I've officially lost 60 lbs. I started at 239.7 and am now at 179.7. It's a struggle every day but slowly but surely I will get to my goal. I'm hoping for a goal of 145lbs but for now my mini-goal is 174 (doctor's goal).

I have seen people share their weight loss numbers and I'm trying to figure out where people are from. I saw someone post they were in say the 220's now wearing a size 14/16. My sleeve was done 6/28 and I've lost around 20lbs and now weigh 220lbs and just got back into my size 22W. Are these folks in the US or another country were the sizing is differnt? I'm almost 6 months out from gastric bypass surgery. I've lost 85lbs so far but feeling frustrated with my latest stall. I haven't lost any weight for 3 weeks and have gone up 2lbs. I'm exercising and staying around 1200 calories a day. Is this normal? I still want to lose 30lbs so I'm feeling frustrated. I thought I would continue losing for one year. Any thoughts? Have others experienced the same?

I hate that my before picture looks like a mug shot. My mom made me take it the night before my surgery. I remember being cranky because frankly I was starving after my two week pre-op diet and because I normally avoided full body shots at all costs. Looking back now, I wish I would've taken more before pictures. I am 15 months post-op and I admit that the number on the scale isn't quite as low as I had originally wanted. As a 25 year old with no children, I look like I've had 10+ kids when I'm naked - so I always wear clothes. While I'm thankful beyond words that I had the opportunity to have this surgery, I feel a little disappointment. I prayed my whole life to be "ski…

So, I've been fat for most of my life. I've been fat ever since I was roughly 10 years old, but what I considered fat then is nothing compared to the state I am at now. After I got sex reassignment surgery, my metabolism went straight to hell and my energy levels fell. I didn't make any lifestyle changes afterwards, but the fact that I didn't was a part of the problem that resulted in the state where I am now. And gaining so much weight, I likely contracted sleep apnea due to my weight gain and also contracted plantar fasciitis, which makes it harder to be out and about without my arches screaming at me. I've tried so many diet and exercise programmes, from Bikram Yoga to…

He never let it hold him back because he saw the best in people when they couldn't see it in him. He wasn’t always so confident about what life would hold for him. At the age of 12, he had gotten to 220 pounds. Due to a condition unrelated to his weight he suffered pain in his legs and ankles and required surgery to repair a curvature in his legs. Post-op, he gained even more weight. From age 12 to 16 he gained about 120 pounds. It's hard to see the pain behind this cutie's …

We were all on our best behavior. I was one of the first few that were allow into the surgery line up and we all were doing our best for those who were to come after. No "last meals" for us!
