I am down 22 pounds since my first weigh in. Family dr extremely proud of me! So am I. Feeling better already! Decided at the beginning of this journey not to weigh unless I have an appointment and it helps so much! Doesn't make it seem so hard. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've heard different experiences some people say they get full quick others say their hunger doesn't change. I'm just curious as to how your meals will change. Ive heard that you are supposed to only have 3 meals a day and avoid Snacks and I'm a big snacker so that worries me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have my evaluation on Friday 2/3/17 at 11am! Can anyone tell me what kind of questions I can expect? I do suffer from depression and I am on meds. I function in life just fine. I usually have a good cry and I'm good. Guess I'm worried they will tell me I'm not mentally fit for surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

With less than a week until my operation, I thought I would focus on the three big weight loss goals that I would like to achieve, in a Japanese way. Today is Setsubun, an old Japanese holiday that used to mark the change of seasons. It involves wearing a mask to scare children and throwing dried Beans or peanuts around (and out of) the house to get rid of bad spirits (and encourage good ones to come in). However, this holiday often includes getting a Daruma doll. In Japan, when one has a wish or goal they would like to complete, they get a Daruma doll, which is a small, hollow, wooden doll, usually painted in red, with the eyes blank. You fill in one eye when you make…

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing great. I'm having lapband surgery on February 10th. My nerves and anxiety are already kicking in because I've never been put to sleep before and I really do not know what to expect. How is it before going into surgery? How will I feel when I wake up? Do I have a breathing tube down my throat? Sorry, I'm all over the place...guess I'm really scared. Any information will be helpful. Thank you. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

AHHH! I just found out today that my surgery date is March 16th. 3 weeks from tomorrow. It all seems so fast. I just started this process with an all day appointment at Mayo Clinic in November, and the time has FLOWN by. I had my last visit with the psychologist on Friday and she signed off/discharged me then. I got the call from the surgical scheduler today and, I'm not even going to lie, started freaking out a little (okay, a lot). Anyone else with March dates? My birthday is March 10th, so I can't think of a better way to usher in 33 than a new me. I'm starting to get more nervous, but I keep telling myself that it's all for the better. One preop visit, one…

Hey everyone. So I have my initial 3 hour evaluation appointment. Nurse practicioner, nutrition, and physical therapist. My insurance is saying that they'll cover the NP and PT appointments but not the nutrition appointment. Has anyone had this issue? And if it's a requirement for bariactric surgery, which my insiurance said they'll cover, then shouldn't they cover nutrition as well? The appointment is $215 and I'd really just rather not pay that!

Thoughts on clear zero calorie/zero carb, carbonated beverages for pre op? I know post op carbonation is a NO NO. I'm on a 8 day clear liquid diet before surgery, a little fizz in my drink would go a long way right about now lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My NUT set me up to order my Vitamins through insurance and I pay a copay. They were delivered today. Surgery not schedluled till March 3 and I haven't even been approved yet I was wondering if I could start taking these vitamins now as I just had surgery for a hysterectomy a month ago and i still have low energy. The next batch is set to be delivered beginning of March so I'll still have plenty. Couldn't hurt to start taking now right?

I am less than 24 hours out of surgery, still in the hospital obviously, and I just want everyone to know the best thing I brought was a retractable back scratcher. You can't twist and turn if you have an itch. The leg compressors also make you itch and you can't just reach down and scratch, so bring a back scratcher! Good luck everyone. i would definitely just like to start off by saying I bought the airfryer today, and this thing is the coolest thing ever. Not only does it look like a Futuristic Egg incubator, but the food is delicous. So I started my liver shrinking diet today. Ive had a headache since around 1pm. but i can't help but say how my excitement makes this headache seem so small! I've taken all my measurements and i'm hype. So on the liver shrinking diet I can have 2 protein shakes, four ounces of chicken, a yogurt, and unlimited non starchy vegetables. So I wanted chicken nuggets so i cut up a four ounce raw chicken breast into little tiny pieces( and did absolutely nothing to them, no s…

Hi everyone! ... This is my first post to our community ever. I didn't think I'd be doing this but it feels good to have others to turn to when curiosity comes.. Anyways im scheduled for surgery 02/21/17 I have my final appt. With my surgeon on 02/13/17 ... I've saw many ppl start their liquid diet 2 weeks prior because that's when they were told by surgeon however I meet with mine 1 week prior... I'm considering just starting it myself at least 2 weeks prior to my surgery... Any thoughts/suggestions ? All is greatly appreciated ????????

My surgeons office called me today and switched my surgery day from 3/16 to a yet TBD date in April. I suppose that a few weeks doesn't make a huge difference, but I was so ready for the 16th of next month. It will certainly make Spring break much more fun than being 2 weeks post-op. Are there any other April sleeves out there yet?

I am having my sleeve surgery in June. I have been feeling so up and down about it..one minute I can't wait, the next, I am scared to death. Well, today was yet another reminder as to why I AM doing this. I work with 2 yr olds, I was sitting on a little chair while the kids were playing. The toy they were playing with came apart, and I needed to get on the floor to fix it. I could not figure HOW I was going to get from the chair to the floor. It's the first time that has EVER happened to me. I ended up kinda falling off the chair onto the floor. I NEVER want to feel that shame and humiliation again!!!!
