  1. Started by carlacv,

I typically have 2 shots of espresso with my premier shake over ice for the past 3 years had a revision and wondering if anyone has had a bad side effect with trying a shot of espresso with their premier shake. Just wondering just had my revision 8/3 doing really good but already missing it the Protein Shake is to thick without it thank you

  2. Started by Faranp,

What is the best protein powder to use for the clear liquid diet after a gastric sleeve procedure? I need help my surgery is scheduled for February 5th and I want to be prepared before then. Any and all help is needed and welcomed.

  3. Started by jennyhenny0330,

I sip on water and Gatorade Zero all day long. I'm not tracking the oz's like I should but I was told as long as I'm peeing clear, I should be hydrated. I also sip on atleast 3 cups of homemade beef broth. I don't feel fatigued. I have Premier Protein, but can't have those until next week. Should I get Premier Protein clear? I also was told not to take my vitamins until day 4 or 5. Is this norm? I'm not even hungry. Looking at my directions, it just says to drink 48-64oz a day, nothing about Protein.

I was wondering how many calories People averaged after VSG (sleeve). The first month after surgery? And moving forward. Or is there a guide? Or something. I started logging my food ( 2 days ago out of curiosity) and I’m barely getting 500 and I have to really push myself? Most of my calories come from my protein drink. (Which I love it’s my favorite of all the drinks I have tried) ensure MAX PROTEIN stats are 150 calories- 30 g protein- 1.5 g fat- 1 g Sugar. Any recommendations would help or guides or just personal experiences. I feel full and I can’t eat any more than I am currently eating. Is it normal. Thank in advance.

  5. Started by N ceee,

Hi has anyone tried the patch vitamins or can recommend good vitamins?

  9. Started by jenlp88,

Hi all! Happy weekend. I have my surgery next Wednesday- I am so excited! I am doing the endoscopic sleeve and have about 80 lbs to lose. Still so frustrated that I got here to begin with but enough looking back- excited about the journey to come. I am a major researcher and want to be proactive. I have started to list foods I will eat. And have begun to purchase what I can which won’t expire too soon. This is helping me mentally prepare and adding to the excitement. Of course the food list for any bariatric surgery is very limited and gradually increases over time. I would love to hear about your favorites, what for you through the mundane list and anything creative you …

  10. Was hoping to have bypass surgery in July (in Estonia!) but travel restrictions are making that difficult. August seems more likely now. I am an extremely fussy eater. It's not just not liking certain foods, its fear - I'm genuinely scared of that feeling when you first try something new. Putting unknown things in my mouth, strange textures, it's horrible. That's a battle I'm going to have to finally fight in the first 8-10 weeks of the post-op diet. I had hoped to do those stages in the UK where I am more familiar with the foods available, and where there are a couple of WLS-friendly foods which I can tolerate. But I'm moving to Norway in late August for a year…

  14. Started by Mrs. Hayes,

I'm a year out from gastric bypass I've lost 110 lbs and have been doing well until this morning. I drank my coffee with sugar free creamer and whip cream on top that's my treat i drink it almost every morning. I did today and about 45 minutes later I felt like I was going to faint, my heart rate was in the 100's I was shaking so bad i couldn't hold my phone. I was weak I could barely walk. I started to hyperventilate. Then I started to feel waves of extreme heat. I really thought I was going to die. I NEVER WANT TO FEEL THAT AGAIN!!! All I ingested was that coffee. Did I drink it too fast? Did I finally have a reaction to the whip cream? WTF? Was this even dumping? Any…

I realize at 2 weeks and 2 days post op It’s waaaay too early, but I am BIG time (head) craving a fresh, delicious green salad. Wondering...will I ever get to eat a plentiful green salad again? Since lettuce is largely water, I’m hoping to hear Yes, as long as it is eaten slowly. And, if so, then “generally speaking”, about how long post op can a salad be tolerated??Thanks!

  19. Hello beautiful people of this site! just saw on Twitter where US restaurants are encouraging a Great American take out day to help the economy. Now I’m all about helping the economy in what we can do... I’m in the purée / soft foods phase. Did any of y’all have a go to from your favorite restaurant that you just had to have in soft food form? You brought it home and put it in the food processor? Or what will you be taking out because you’ve graduated to full foods?

  20. Started by Celeste97,

Strong flavored foods are making me super nauseous, it’s annoying because I’ve been craving some sweet flavors. Sugar free things are not helping at all. Are fresh fruits safe to suck on? if so which ones? I tried a slice of orange and it was the best thing ever but i’m scared of dumping.

So, fighting off the flu. Everyone at work has been getting it. I have the very early stages of it for the last couple days. Hoarse voice. A little bit of a cough with wheezing and just a tad bit of phlegm in my chest. Sitting at work, drinking mint tea. Why am I so thankful for Mint Tea? It is one of the few that I can drink WITHOUT sugar or honey! Just curious... for those who like to sweeten their teas... what other teas do you like when you DON'T sweeten them? I do not want to use Stevia or artificial sweeteners.

  22. Hello, I am on soft foods now when can I have a spoon of peanut butter? and no I dont like PB2!

  23. Started by smund,

  24. Hello, My name is silverlis and I am 3 weeks post op! O need ideas on what I can eat and when do I get to eat regular foods? ( I dont mean to offend any race is just that I’m dominican and everyone has different taste in food and how to cook them...) much love xoxo

  25. Started by Hop_Scotch,

I will be undergoing a revision from ESG to gastric sleeve mid March, I have been looking at protein products for the pureed/soft post op stages. I came across lupin soup made by Formulite. Just wondering if any one has tried it? How did you find it? I could also water it down more and filter for use in the liquid stage if needed. My program has a short liquid phase. I'd only be using it for a short while for the pureed/soft stage.....I could probably do my own broth thing and add flavourless protein powder...but I know me I wouldn't bother making the broth so best to have something on hand other than protein shakes or protein water. Thanks https://formulit…

  26. Please help when can I have peanut butter I’ve Been Craving it so bad I also want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but I know I have a very longggggggggg time before I can have Bread but when can i just have Like A Spoon Of Just peanut butter ?

Im going to abide by my instructions regardless of how something Taste......BUT......lolol......If there is something else that would give me the right amount of protein without the protein shake taste please inform me......HL

  28. Started by kc892020,

Attention post-op coffee drinkers! Are there any good decaf and/or low-acid brands of coffee you can recommend? How about chains like Dunkin or Starbucks? Since having the surgery, I've found out I'm sensitive to caffeine. The program I'm in doesn't allow it anyway, but they did say I could drink decaf, especially if it's low acid. Thank you for your help!

  29. Started by lm4dham05,

Hello All! I wasn't able to find a thread that had this in it - or maybe I wasn't looking for the right things. I wanted to know what post op patients have been told is a good ration on foods when it comes to the Total Fat for the amount of Protein. For example; Calories - 160 / Total Fat - 13g / Protein - 11g I'm a 6-month post op DS patient (previously had Lapband - but this was tech not a revision). Only 15 lbs away from goal so now i'm looking for ways to maintain.

When can I reincorporate taking extra Vitamin C? I am taking my bariatric multi Vitamin however I would like to add extra vitamin C to help my immune system. Thanks.

  31. Started by lisafrommassachusetts,

I understand that I cannot count protein drinks toward the fluid total, even if they are made by me with water. Today I had some Barilife Cream of Chicken Soup, which comes in a packet and you mix it with water. I added a little more than one cup of boiling water; it was really a thin broth like soup, not creamy. Can I count that toward my fluids? I would think so. I am having a huge amount of trouble getting the fluids in, and I think it may be because I am drinking at least one shake a day, and the other foods I am allowed at this point are all kind of soupy....Egg whites, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, etc.

  33. Started by rs,

Anyone have a favorite dark chocolate almonds brand? I've been buying Skinny Dipped brand lately. I kinda like how they are lightly dusted with the cocoa which makes it less sweet than the smooth type of chocolate coating. It looks like Blue Diamond has something similar but I haven't tried it. Anyone have any preferences?

  34. Started by Raquel M.,

  36. I am almost 2 years out and have seriously stalled! So disappointed in myself. Went to Italy and actually gained 8 pounds. Now I am trying to get back in to the groove of my eating. My question for everyone is would Cream of Wheat and/or Oatmeal (with Stevia) be a good breakfast? I get tired of eating an egg. Also not supposed to have a lot of bacon so need something else to take its place. Thanks for all that respond.

  37. Started by loridee11,

I will hopefully be released to "normal" food next week, and am looking for some of your favorite healthy recipes. I plan on picking up some turkey breaks, chicken breasts and fish and then some veggies, but it would be great to get some ideas on what to do with them. I freely admit that pre-surgery I was a huge carb eater and most of my recipes and meals center around carbs so i'm trying to rebuild!

  38. I'm just curious what would actually happen if I ate something solid while I'm still on my full-liquid diet. I've had refried Beans and pureed avocado, and I tolerated it just fine. I'm two weeks out, and I'm only supposed to be eating cream of wheat (which I hate), and other equally boring mush. I had a few spoonfuls of soft beans, and I didn't get sick or anything. Have any of you started eating solids before you were supposed to?

  40. I had a horrible experience with the gastric sleeve and the dr. whom performed the surgery, however that's neither here nor there at this point. I nearly died, have been fighting every since. I healed with extreme issues, had to have them corrected and had to start all over at stage 1. Now I am so unhappy because I cant eat more than 3 tiny bites of anything and stomach hurts with even water. I have had dilatation treatments which are working wonders. I often get asked was it worth it because of how much weight I have lost. I have been going thru too much to actually enjoy my weight loss so Im asking others do they regret it or think it was worth it. I started out at 475l…

Hi everyone! My surgery is this Monday and I'm already panicking for down the road. Does anyone have any recommendations for recipe sites, cookbooks, anything to help when all the "phases" are over? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I finally get to move to soft foods on 01/07/2020. Been on liquids sine my surgery on 12/9/19. Just wondering what your first soft food meal was. I’m think soft scrambled egg for breakfast, 2 ounces tuna for lunch and 2 ounces of grilled salmon for dinner. Any other ideas / suggestions?

  43. Hello, my husband had Gastric Bypass in mid-November & is currently on mostly soft foods. We are working on trying to cook our meals together for things we can both eat & feed our two kids, as well. I prefer the keto diet for myself to lose the weight I need to lose also, which is not optimal for the bypass diet, at this point I don't think. Has anyone experienced trying to cook meals that everyone can eat or is it easiest just to cook individually based on needs?

  44. I'm about 5 yrs out and have slid back into some bad habits. Looking for inspiration!

Hey everyone! Does anyone use the Isopure Unflavored for anything other than shakes? I am trying to think of what to add it to that will blend out well and not be chunky! I tried it in some chicken broth yesterday and it was ok. The flavor was fine, but I could still smell it. Thanks!

  46. I really need to vent.I have had intense fatigue since about my 2nd wk postop. I'm about at week 7 and I am still totally tired ALL OF THE TIME!! Has anyone else lived through this? If so, do you eventually come out of it? If so, how long before you start feeling normal? I eat/drink right, sleep 8 continuous hrs/night, I work a full time job and have 4 very busy kids. I'm sure I get plenty of activity in a day. Now I am about to add in an exercise routine. Bahhhh! I just can't imagine how I am going to do it. I have zero energy. For instance, right now, it's 2:50pm where I am, I'm at work and if I closed my eyes for even 2 minutes I would be asleep. What is even scarie…

  47. Started by CapyCapybara,

I asked my nurse for clarification yesterday and she really didn’t have one .... I’m almost a week post op and still on liquid diet. Everyone is confusing me because in the hospital they said I was on clear liquids but was given regular protein drinks. My NUT sheet says liquids like broth and jello etc plus protein shakes. I wanted to know can I strain egg drop soup ? Or is that too thick?

  48. Started by llfonseca,

How long did it take for you to be able to drink a whole shake such as a premier protein in a whole setting. Like the 30-40 minutes suggested??
