Everyone I'm on week 11 of my 12 week visits with my nutritionist. I'm down 16 lbs. I admit that I have learned a lot from her and being accountable for my food choices. On Thursday after my visit, my paperwork will be submitted to United Healthcare for approval. I've given it my best shot and I am optimistic about being approved. During these weeks I have listened to people say so many different things. The one I hate the most is that I'm taking the easy way out. I honestly don't feel that this will be the easy way. I think that I will have to work equally as hard to get to my goal weight. I think that people who don't struggle with issues with their weight really don't understand. At the end of the day, this is about me...not them. I want to be healthier and get off of all these medications with all these different side effects. Whew...that was my vent lol. With that being said, How long is the waiting period for approval? Wish me luck. I will definitely update soon.· 0 replies

12 days post op, only six pounds down. Trying so hard to keep depression away. I would have lost a lot more weight pre surgery on the same diet. Why is this happening to me?· 2 replies

Take a breath and try to reframe your perspective. Your surgery experience is not going to be the same as what other folks have gone through, so the only benchmarks that you have to work from are your own past weight loss experiences. Six pounds in less than two weeks is a decent amount of weight lost in a short period of time, surgery or not. It's likely that things will pick up over time, especially as you get moving and adapt back into a routine diet.
Don't lose heart. You've got this! -

OMG... people are going crazy for easter shopping? I low-grade expected people already waiting in line before the store before opening time but this was insane. I briefly considered simply driving home. 🙄· 0 replies
All I can say is: if I wouldn't be on-call today and shopping next week will be even more of a hassle when the boss is on vacation and we're going to have to work overtime for sure, I wouldn't have gone shopping today.
Yes, I'm vaccinated and all and people are wearing masks but anyway...
Crazy.
