  2. Sleeved 4/17, I started out at 233 and lost 30 lbs before surgery. I've only lost 30 lbs since surgery but a whole lot of inches. I now weigh...drum roll please...173. I started out wearing size 22-24 and now I'm a 16....which I have never been in my entire adult life and medium to large shirts. I can now fit my 12 y/o's shirts!!!!! I'm happy with losing slowly and I don't have much more till goal. :-)
  3. Oops! Anyway...I'm 6 weeks out now. I don't broadcast my surgery but I let people know that I feel wouldn't broadcast it either. I was recently asked by a staff member of my apartment building how I'm losing the weight...I just said I've been working out and watching what I eat (this is being truthful and not letting her all in my business). I also have a FB friend that asked in a recent pic I put up if I had surgery. This annoyed me so much, considering she already knows that but to comment on a pic and ask me that was rude! I'm a somewhat private person and I did not display anything about my surgery, so what makes her think she can? The nerve of some people! Did I mention she is really a friend of my best friend and I don't care for her too much...

  5. My doctor also told me that 10 lbs a month is good. I was getting a little discouraged too! I am 6 weeks out and I have lost 15-20 lbs. If the doctors says its good then I guess I'm ok with that.

  7. I guess I kinda pick n choose who knows about my surgery. Close friends n family are the only ones who really know. Someone I know asked me what I was doing to lose the weight and I just said working out. Lol..it's nobody's business if I don't want it to be!

  13. So I'm 3 weeks todays and feeling great. I've been a little tired but my energy is coming back. Over the weekend I had my first NSV...or shall I say I had two? I was going out with friends and went shopping for a new outfit....after being in a 22 for so long I can actually fit a 16. I have never worn a 16. When I was this size I was a teenager and I wore mens clothes anyway so I didn't know what a 16 looked like...and now I do!!! And my second NSV...I was the sober driver. I had an ok time...it wasn't really my scene but hanging out with friends and being able to relax and enjoy myself without being intoxicated felt great!!
  14. Oh...and even though I haven't lost much weight others have said they see it so maybe, just maybe, I'm losing inches.
  15. Why do u feel like your doing something wrong? Everyones body is different as I'm learning myself. I've only lost 3 lbs @ 2 weeks post op.
  16. Good advice Lissa! I went to the store just today to make my kitchen more liquid friendly so I don't cause any complications. So far I'm ok besides still feeling hungry but distraction and drinking something is helping. I'm thinking maybe I'm more thirsty than hungry and I also don't want to get dehydrated.
  17. I'm almost 2 weeks out and I've been eating solids. (SHHH...) I've tolerated them fine. I haven't gotten sick from eating too soon. I can only eat very little and I really have to train myself on taking my time. I do make sure that I'm chewing very well though. And I have also not tried anything that I don't think will agree with me too much like fast food or spicy foods. I mostly try to stick to my full liquid diet, but sometimes I just need a little bit more. Also...are you trying out solids because your still hungry? Why do I always feel soooo hungry??? I wasn't even this hungry pre surgery!!!!
  18. How do u know ur stomach is twisted? Is there a test or did u have certain symptoms?

  20. Thanx! I'm not having trouble getting liquids in as long as they are warm. And I'm walking as much as I can. Good thing I live in an apartment building!!
