Hi there new to here. I am 2 weeks post sleeve op. I had a few problems but they seem to be getting better. I have read numerous conversations on here that say basically the sleeve is a waste of tim and bypass is the way to go. Has anyone had success with sleeve and found it a good choice? Hope I didnt make the wrong choice.

There has been something that has bothered me since my operation 5 years ago was my psychiatric visit pre-op. Like most of you I'm sure they're going to do this or have already done this you know the psychiatric evaluation consisted of a questionnaire and a second visit to discuss it now granted I am a psychologist and I kind of chalk this up to no one doctor to another in office but the first 15 minutes at my follow-up visit we just kind of chatted briefly just talked about the piece of paper that he had his hand that I filled out the questionnaire not one question to lie about it the rest of the time we sat and visited and talked about the treatment of borderline person…

I am 5 weeks post op and am still getting a pain under my ribs on the left. It isn’t there all the time. It comes and goes. It sort of feels like a stitch. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and might know what it is. I spoke to my GP about it and she said there could be internal stitches still causing problems, or it could be related to the diaphragm. Not hugely concerned about it as I think if it was a real problem the symptoms would be more severe.

Back from a 5 day cruise, gained 3 pounds BUT.... I already lost all 3 pounds back again, whoooo hooooo! Boy, was I eating.. and drinking, but I was also walking A LOT! I stayed away from cookies and cakes and carbs. I enjoyed the salad bar, such wide variety. Also I loved their omelette station in the mornings, and I ate lots of Cantaloupes, Watermelons etc. Dinner time, I ate Lobster Tail, Shrimp, Sashimis and even steak. :-) So it is possible to have fun! Have cake and eat it too!

So, here's how my weight loss has been the past few weeks. During the week, I fluctuate up or down a pound, but when the weekend comes, the weight just drops off. I personally have to wonder if it's because I get more sleep on the weekend than during the week, or if there's some other reason. Anyone else notice this sort of pattern?

Yesterday I had my endoscopy and the Surgeon told my Husband that food was entering my stomach in 2 different ways, and that it could not be left that way. I haven't talked to the Dr himself yet, but am anxious to know what is going on. Has anyone had something like this? Thanks! Lynda

So I found a vitamin that only needs to be taken once a day but it says for gastric sleeve (screen shot below first is the description of this one and then the vitamin info for the tablet and then the capsule after that will be the normal vitamins I currently take) is this something I could take and get what I need? I guess i don’t wanna make a mistake since it says for gastric sleeve. The current one I take just upsets my tummy because of the flavor and this one has a couple different flavors instead of just watermelon and citrus.

I've been going through the motions and I'm 3 months away from my 12 months cut off so getting excited yet anxious. Will be seeing surgeon finally In 3 weeks to discuss in depth the whole procedure and I guess finalize a surgery date either 30 sep or 14th October. They only do surgery one day a week here at Ashford Adelaide Australia. I've been told I may have bloods done but after that I need to see a dietitian to discuss the preop diet and then next time I see surgeon will be on the surgery day and I'll have 2 nights maybe 3 in the private hospital which will be NICE.. If all goes well I'm so excited been researching the procedure for like a year now and …

I am ‘in process’ without a surgery date yet. I am a candidate for RNY because of GERD, sugar addiction, comorbidites but I have had three previous abdominal surgeries and my surgeon said adhesions could require me to have a sleeve instead. Did any of you have successful RNY despite having adhesions?

Hi, looking for feedback on those who've done revision from sleeve to bypass. I do not have reflux/GERD issues so I'm only focused on additional weight loss. I did the sleeve 3 years ago. Was 429 lbs. Brought me to 320 lbs. My weight dictated a Bypass OR Duodenal Switch BUT I was doing it in Mexico and wanted to keep things simple. NOW my insurance covers and so I'm considered the jump from sleeve to bypass but ONLY if there's a chance for weight loss. For those who have done it... results from a weight loss perspective? Worth it?

Well, with all the braggadocio and confidence that I no longer succumb to my old temptations I’m here in Maine with the fam and guests and everyone is eating their celebratory vacation food and I’m in the corner ( not literally, just having a inner pity party) and the only food that is crushing me is the Cheese balls..now , I know I’m at the stage where I can try a few things but I have not cheated or tried anything to undermine my success so far but, those buttery , melt in your mouth , salty little things are taking up space instead my head . If I try some and get sick I won’t be able to be present enough for those I care about and if I give in I’m afraid of starting th…

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.....[emoji47] I can't drink while eating, Omg kill me now lol. Im 6 months post op and i still hate the fact that i cant have a cold refreshing drink while i eat. That's probably the hardest thing for me. I love this app because i can finally express myself and people understand me[emoji6] I cant be the only one who struggles with eating with a dry throat. I am 4.5 months out from RNY. Obviously most of us get loose skin from the rapid weight loss. I wanted to ask others how long it took for their skin to tighten up. I am assuming people still lose weight and still have loose skin and I know it varies a lot but would you say it was really loose and some tightened around 6 months? 8 months? at what point did your skin tightening max out-- a year? So far I am 50 lbs. down and it's not too bad but I am wondering if it will actually look better in a few months even thought I will probably lose another 20 lbs.

So I had my surgery a week and a half ago. My doctor told me that I would find my hormones changing and effecting me but I didn't realize it would be so soon. For the past three days I have found myself being overly emotional about simple things, whether it be news stories that make me feel like I want to cry or even movies that are very moving. Is this the norm. I read that hormones after surgery are effected by not eating carbs and insulin in your body kicking in which effects serotonin levels but what does that really mean? I am in no way complaining and I am very blessed that I was able to get this surgery but have others experienced these enhanced emotions and how do…

My new/old journey begins today and I'm quite anxious. One of the things I'm anxious about is MFP. Some things I dont get. How much protein, fiber, good carbs, good fat, etc am I to try to shoot for? Also, I'm noticing the daily menu. I want to: Add foods, portions, barcode info to a general database to return to with just a click. How? Like decaf, yogurt, cheese, etc are daily mainstays, I would like to just find it in my database and click each day instead of manually entering it each time!. Again, How? I'm scared to jump back on the wagon, and I'm keeping a food journal daily yet I'm still very nervous. Knowing how to use MFP will help ease and orga…

About 5 years ago. I had gastric sleeve surgery. I lost weight for the first year. I had just lost my mom and I turned to alcohol and I gained all the weight back and then some. My sleeve is stretched. I went back to my Dr. to see what can be done and she suggested a gastric bypass which is what I wanted to do. I have to have an Endoscopy done before knowing the full picture, but I don't having dumping syndrome now and i was wondering if i will get it later? I has anyone had this surgery done? What advise would you give? I am going to make do diligence not to stretch my new pouch out. If I get approved.

And I'm down 65 lbs. I'm finally below 300 lbs, and I couldn't be happier. I haven't been this weight in ten years. Hell, I haven't even been close to it since 2012. I know I'm going to continue the weight loss too. My highest weight was 427 lbs. April 2018. My weight on surgery day was 360.8. I weighed myself yesterday morning and was 295.2.

Hello everyone. I am trying to find out which is better water or protein drink? I asked my surgeon and he told me to eat veggies. I don’t think he understood my question. It’s 7pm and I don’t have 60 grams of protein or 60 ounces of water. Which is best to have? Do I concentrate on the protein or the water? Also if I have reached my daily goals and have time and appetite should I do my clear protein or regular water? I can’t seem to find an answer to this so I thought I would pose it here.

I am currently drinking this bowel prep. I was prescribed the Peg 3350, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Bicarb & Potassium Chloride solution. It is 4 Liters, but the directions say most only need 3 Liters before the BMs are clear water without solids. Anyone had experience with this? I am at 1.5 liters and am having a hard time getting anything else in >.<

Hello people! I'm 4 years out from RNY, lost 35 pounds total (non compliance) and am very, very eager to start over. My hubby is going to go on the South Beach Diet (prescribed by Surgeon) WITH me, so support, support, support. ❤️ We've started to eat better already, but for financial bs that will be resolved on July 3, we will be starting full on that day. So, I'm refreshing up on what I'm to do as a WLS patient. I haven't seen my surgeon in years due to, 1. Financial inability, 2. Shame, and 3. He had said some awful things about my various severe mental health issues that exacerbated the issues. I'm in very active psychotherapy. But, I will go back when I can com…

I weighed 384 lbs the day of my procedure, as of today I have now broke 170 lbs range that's with the excess skin still hanging on there lol which I assume is probably around another 10 to 12 pounds. Its has been a struggle but worthwhile I look at myself in the mirror and feel like just got out of a concentration camp...

Hello beautiful peeps. It’s 2:07am and I’ve been awake on and off for two hours in pain, nauseous, and stupid bloated because I ate peanut butter and it jacked up my whole life. I’m being dramatic because I feel like trash and I have a VERY important job interview today and really need the sleep. I just had to get it out into the ether to a group who would understand how something little like that can screw up your whole world temporarily. Thanks for listening!
