I was wondering if there are any patient's of Dr Patel's out there. He came to Austin and I attended his seminar. I was pretty impressed with him and his staff but wanted to hear from some other patients. I am an RN so I am pretty knowledgeable about surgery and aftercare needed. How have your experiences with the doctor and his staff. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping to get the procedure done in Jan 08. Teanne

I am looking at using Dr. Frank Felts thru True Results/Lap Band Solutions. He works out of Dallas and Houston. Does anyone have any experience with him in either office? If you have used him for the Houston office, how was your experience with the staff and aftercare? How did it seem to work with him having a practice in both cities? If you used him in Dallas, how was your experience with dealing with him personally as a doctor? I have been in for a seminar that he talked at, and I've had my medical evaluation, and am awaiting insurance approval. How do I find a doctor in the DFW, Tx area that has a reasonable self pay price? I was going to go through lapbandsoultions but their self pay is 15K. I was wanting to try to find something a little cheaper, even if it does not include fills and doctor visits for the first 2 years. Right now, I would perfer to not go to Mexico. I am currently considering being banded.As there is only one surgeon in Ireland(not v.reliable either)and it costs 10,000 euro,I am considering prague as there is a direct flight from my city. Has any one any experience of BODY BEAUTIFUL UK who SEEM to be the most comprehensive doing it there. Also can anyone tell me if it is feasible to have your fills at a distance like this or would i be better to go to the UK which is only an hour away?Any suggestions will be gratefully received as i want to get on with this.Thx:)

I found out on Friday that my band has slipped and they need to go in and fix it. Does anyone have experience on this? I had my band put in 15 months ago and have lost 115 pounds. What could cause this? I am having a problem getting Medicare to cover the new operation. They covered it before. Any comments? I am having this operation in Richmond Va. I researched the dirt and the good information on all the docs I was considering. I had a bit of an advantage as I volunteer in Nogales, Mexico for a trauma surgeon. He helped me to a great deal of my own research and he was able to find out things I might not have known how to find myself. He taught me quite a bit about researching Mexican doctors. I am scheduled to see him on 1/2/08, and I was wondering if anyone had anyone could kinda fill me in on what to expect. I have BCBS of NC, my BMI is 44, and I have my 5 years of weight history,and I've had my pysh eval. are they really hard to get approved?????? I went for the free Lapband info night last night at LVH in Allentown. I knew I was in trouble when I entered the room and there was 50 plus people there! This was only an 1 and half hour event. The surgeon spoke who I thought to be lacking of any personality and was very brief on his explanations on this surgery! There was not enough time to answer all the questions, but he ended on time abrubtly, only to turn the floor over to the WL center manager. Who was morbidly obese and was preaching to us! It was weird. The topper is the requirements of even being condsidered for the surgery is a 6 month bunch of dr visits etc. I already have begun my 6 month of medically surperv…

Has anyone had lap band done by Dr. Boorse @ lvh? I was just curious as to what your experiece was like. Right now he's my number one pick for doing my surgery, mostly because he takes my insurance and is only like an hour away. Any thoughts or experiences are really appreciated.

Just wondering if there are any Canadian bandsters who have had their surgery done with Dr. Kirshenbaum in Colorado? Are there any Canadian bandsters who have had lap-band surgery anywhere in the US and if so what are the pros/cons. How did it work out for you?

Just thought I would share my experience here in the Inland Empire. I had surgery with Dr. Krahn on 3/26/07. Both him and his staff worked very hard at getting all the mumbo jumbo handled before surgery, and for that I am very grateful. Actually because I was a case patient I was able to get the whole process done in about one month. That is from the first info meeting until the surgery date. I thought Dr. Krahn, his staff and the hospital were great. My only complaint is that Dr. Krahn seems to be cronically late for his appointments. Everytime I have been to his office for an appoinment he seems to be running about 1 1/2 hours behind schedule. While it is true t…

I have been reading more and more and for some reason (and I hope It's a good one) Tijuana always seems to come in to the conversation.The only bad thing is that there are too many it's confusing so I guess I have a lot of research to do since the cost for the surgery in Mexico is within my budget.

Can anyone recommend a doctor in the Philadelphia area that does Lap Band surgery? My doctor recommended a Dr. Meiluhn at Temple University? Has anyone has any experiences with him? I just went for my first visit to get info and meet with the surgeon yesterday! The doctor is Dr Brian Boe. The hospital is Barix in Langhorne pa. Is very personable and informative. I was just wondering if anyone has had surgery there or by him, and what were your experiences? Thanks for any input.

Hi everyone, I was referred to Dr Kelly at U-mass because of my large hiatal hernia. He is a specialist down there. Has anyone had him for a dr? he seems very nice. I am forwarding my personal charts down there and also wanted to know if there is a long waiting list to see him. Thanks for all your help. I was coming here for advise and info...I learned about the different doctors and got such good info...then arguments and strife broke out on some of the threads...it was even suggested that the posters ID was fake :cool:and that they were really a co-ordinator for a doctor in Mexico. I felt that if the posters were fakes and just here to falsly testify about the doctors "good work"...then it all must be a big $$ scam All of this scared the heck out of me and I decided to stop the process for lapband surgery all together...:hungry: I am sad:(

I have read up alot on Dr Rumbaut, and he sounds like he has done many surgerys and is a very good doctor. I am self pay per my insurance will not cover my surgery, but the surgeon here charges 16500.00 and thats a big loan for us to take out now, so I am tring to collect as much infomation as I can to see whats the safest and cheapest.

I have two options that are closer to me that Medicare should cover since they are both centers of excellence. I know Synchrony Health has been around in various parts of the country for a while and has a good rep. I am involved with the new branch in the Chicago area and am having surgery tomorrow. I am quite happy with then, but am just curious if anyone else is using them and what your opinions of the company are. Thanks in advance for any input.

I had my lap band with Dr. Luis Reyes in Mcallen, Texas. He is wonderful. He and his partner Dr. Camacho, really spent quaility time with you before surgery and after surgery. Mcallen, Texas is about 10 minutes away from the Us/Mexico border. Across the border is Reynosa, Mexico. Anyway just thought I would put the word out that Dr. Luis Reyes is terrific....:clap2:
