Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

OK so I go to my PCM (primary care manager) tomorrow for my referal I am going to have him send me to a local so I can get into a few seminars because I really want to have the band done but am so terrified of it that I want to be positive. Anyway I want to find a really good doctor to do my surgery. I am in Charleston SC but could go as far as NC or GA to have it done but would love to stay local. The doctor I found here is Dr. Thomas Byrne has anyone heard of him and does anyone know of anymore in that area range that are really good. HELP:confused:

hi folks... am new to the site, "pre-op" and considering dr. mitchell roslin at lennox hill in nyc. i've searched the site and there doesn't seem to be much here on him. has anyone out there used him? if so, what have your experiences with him, his staff and his hospital been like? have read a lot here about nyu. for those that have gone with drs fielding and ren, did you consider lennox hill? if so, why did you decide to go the nyu route? thanks in advance for all your advice and insight.

Anyone go to New Beginnings program in Voorhees, NJ?

I am newly banded as of January 28th with Dr. Spivak. So far so good! Tomorrow is day 3 postop and I am feeling great. His office employees and nurses I can't rave enough about. He even had someone 7 years postop do the first part of the seminar. I can't remember her name, but she looked just like Kimora Lee Simmons, she stayed until the last of us went home and answered all the questions should could as honestly as it gets. I came in from NYC 2 days before the surgery to find all taken care of and running smoothly. Even offered my doctor back in NY quid pro quo for doing my follow up. There are a few and I'd like your input as part of my selection process. I'm so confused as where I should go. I have no idea which Dr.s are in my network or not. I tried to look on BC/BS FEP web site and can't find none. I have a seminar on Sat at NE Baptist but I haven't seen anyone here use them and it worries me. Someone help please, lol. I am going to Dr Schram in Holland for Lap Band surgery and was wondering if any one has had their surgery with him or is scheduled to have their surgery with him? I had my lapband surgery Jan 16th. It was done by Dr. Duperior of San Antonio. He is part of the New Dimensions group. They are a group of about 5 or 6 doctors who specialize in weight loss surgery. I am very pleased with the results. Surgery went great and recovery even better than I ever expected. I was pretty sore first few days but started walking on treadmill in 2 days and went back to work in 5. The first day back was a little tough but after that I was good to go. Now I am on day 12 and I am doing everything but lifting weights. I have been doing the research for several months and I am now looking for a (fairly) local Doctor. I live in Binghamton, NY and I am pretty sure there are no Lap-Band Doctors in Binghamton itself. I am looking to see if anyone has any experience or referrals for Doctors in Syracuse or Ithaca. Well, I did it! I started on this site yesterday and today I scheduled my surgery with Dr. K. I'm saving $10,000:thumbup: Yeah!!!!! The hospital here at home was charging me $20,000 for self-pay. Hello guys, I'm not too happy with my current doctor, he is not a big supporter of the band, he is more into RNY... Plus, he is very far from me now... I haven't had a fill for a while due to esophagus dilation... but I must get back on track... I will pay for my own fills... I'm looking for a doctor that could give me my fills and a doctor that is supportive of the band and his band patients , encouraging, and helpful and/or with a helpful band oriented staff. PLEASE HELP! ! !:help: :help: I recently discovered that the doctor I was going to use when medicare kicked in next month is no longer accepting medicare. He supposedly revoked his privlidges with them because they did not pay. Although that does not sound right to me, now I am left to find a good surgeon who can perform the lap band. Can anyone recommend a doctor in the Tampa Bay, New Tampa area? Please provide me with there address and your reviews of them if you would. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
