  1. Water is the key for a poop from what I"ve heard...also I know this sounds weird but if you rub the tops of your upper thight it stimulates one into wanting to poop. I had a nurse tell me if my infant son was having problems go poo..to rub the upper parts of my sons thighs. I did it worked but I'm not sure if that information is gender specific. PS, sorry I still pretty medicated and know my grammar leaves much to be desired. I'm in Pain and Hungry and which leaves me in a lack of caring state. (s)
  2. I just had my operation today, and I'm already wanting my protein shake! Can I have a protein shake? All I've been able to do is water and a weak broth. I got a patch behind my ear to help with the feelings of wanting to throw up but I still get waves like I could vomit. I have five places on my stomach and am curious as heck as to which one hold the port. I can't feel the port?! I feel PAIN...laughs...I think the weight of my larger boobs are making the cuts more painful but the thought of a bra pinching the air out of me is even more scary.
  3. Just after your operation, did any of you go through intense emotions. Feeling of great love to great anger. One second I'd be just fine and the next I was a mean old witch. AND, PAIN! I'm so glad I had a friend tell me to expect pain when I woke up because if she had not, I think I would of had an anxiety attack. I've had my gall bladder removed but this is a deeper kind of ache. Or am I just being a baby?!? I was banded today! I know it's going to be awhile before my first fill but I know I'd still do the operation despite the emotional rollercoaster. When will my emotions level out?:angry
  4. ....Just found this in my search for a Mexian doctor. Like American doctors haven't done it too...I'm sure...still, searching for that Mexican surgeon. I need to talk to people that are two and three years with their bands. Names please?

  6. "Those arrested in the sting operation include Dr. Carlos Alessandrini, Dr. Carlos Jaime Herrera and Dr. Severo Rios Ornelas, all Mexican citizens who also have U.S. legal permanent resident status. Alessandrini and Herrera both live in Chula Vista, while Ornelas lives in Tijuana. Also arrested were Dr. Elia Judith Cerecer, Dr. Ricardo Vega Montiel and Dr. José Sergio verboonen Sotelo, all Mexican citizens living in Tijuana. Verboonen advertises a weight-loss surgical procedure known as gastric banding over the Internet. The English-language Web site, apparently aimed at U.S. patients, notes that his Tijuana medical office is near San Diego, making it "convenient for American patients." Found this info while searching for credible doctors.... http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/mexico/20030410-9999_1m10fraud.html
  7. :faint: If they are going to charge extra...then the seats should at least be comfortable! If your overweight and have to fly a lot could you please post some tips and ways to survive the flight?!? How to book...where NOT to book....
  8. Are any of you being charged for two seats? I have not been on an airplane for a long time. Even when I was a lot thinner...I remember the seats being small. What was the cost of flight? Would you drive from the border to the hospital?
  9. Any good doctors? Going to the Baha (tip) seems more costly? Or am I just confused about the locations? Where is Sanchez and Dr. Ram'?
  10. I'm confused...how far of a drive is it across the border to this hospital?
  11. I need any information and personal testimonies of people that have used this doctor. Please don't hold back....One of the main questions I have is if this doctor follows up with fluoro to make sure the band is in place after the surgery?
  12. And how much is he charging you? I hope you don't mind me asking!?! I am thinking about going to Mexico, too! I just don't know where or how to begin my search for a quality physician south of the border.
  13. My older sister just got the band about five months ago! I don't think I'd even be looking into this if it wasn't for her results. Not just physically but emotionally. I just don't want to "waste" any more of my life. Diets, exercise have failed because food is my "drug". I eat when I'm sad, mad, ect. This surgery seems to force a person to deal with food and portions and force a person to rewire their relationship with food. My mother and sister seem to be supportive. We shall see how supportive, if it means I have to go to Mexico to get the surgery. I feel so selfish! I have never even spent $500 dollars on myself....$9,000 just sorta puts me into a state of shock. The only way I can rationalize spending this much money is by telling myself it's an investment in my future health. Where my feet and back and ego just aren't constantly being weighed down? Am I crazy? Is it worth the debt? Be honest! And does anyone know of any place that is cheaper than $8,500 in Mexico?
  14. I don't have any insurance! I want this surgery but I can't afford the $17,000 that it costs in my area. What is a person to do? Any info would be of great help.
  15. Well, at least you have an insurance company to fight! So, look at your glass half full! Just don't give up...go through the motions...and you may end up with an approval before you know it.
