HI, I'm looking at using Benjamin Hung or Ray Tadducci here in Lincoln, NE. I was wondering if anyone has used them or who else they would recommend in Omaha, KC etc. What was your experience, impressions of them(doc you used) and their staff etc. I've been to their seminar and they seem great, but then I have no basis for comparison. Thanks!:help::ranger:

Is anyone familiar with Synchrony Health? They are in Chicago, Ohio, and Washington, DC. I do know that they are a newly formed company that is an absorption of other companies that all have good reputations. Does anyone have any comments on Synchrony Health-Chicago and /or Dr. Duane Tull? Thank you.

Dr. Naaman (Houston, Texas) put in my lap band in August, 2006. I just found out that he is retiring. He is only 64 years old. I don't think he sold his practice since he is giving out a list of 3 different doctors who will see his patients. Does anyone have any info?

I am so bummed...just found out that it's true and my surgeon Dr. Naaman (Houston, Texas) is retiring in ONE MONTH!! I am so upset, literally crying, as I have put all my faith and trust in this man and now I have to start ALL over with developing a rapport with a new doctor. I hate this! :car: Does anyone have any suggestions for a new surgeon in my area?

Hey bandster sisters and brothers, I heard from my friend who is having her band done at the surgicenter on main that their price of $12,900 includes up to 2 years of aftercare. She had a free consultation and labs/ekg. I don't know about you guys but the band was priced two years ago when I had mine at 15,500. Now since I have the band I participate in their referral program where you get $100 american express check. Real good for X-mas! My other friend was banded 4 months ago had to stay overnight at UGH due to her sleep apnea (more money she paid)...I never had to stay over night I had sleep apnea? I love Dr.Spiegel but these prices get me all raddled up :-):eek…

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!! They lied to me stating that they would finance $ 2,000 of my surgery and when I gave them a deposit told me the sales man was new and had been wrong. They then proceeded to refund only a portion of my deposit, they kept $500 even though the reason I canceled was them lying to me and I did not sign any disclosures stating that $500 was non-refundable. I plan to take them to small claims court, but this is a long, relatively expensive procedure and no guarentee of winning. Anyway, just wanted to warn everyone to stay away from these liars and theives!!!!

:confused:I have done a lot of research for the best place to go in St. Louis only to find out that my insurance doesn't cover the program I chose, It's back to the drawing board. Anyone used the DePaul Weight Loss Institute with Dr. de la Torre? It's about 30 minutes from my work and 45 from home but I guess that won't be too bad. Any insight anyone can provide would be appreciated.:help:

  12. Has anyone used this program. I am scheduled for their seminar on October 17 and wondering if anyone has experience with them?:help:

  13. I am reading way too much and making myself CRAZY! First I had my surgery all scheduled with Dr Ortiz, then I set up surgery with Dr. Rumbaut because it shaved off 3 hours flying time and I believed he was right up there with Ortiz, but I couldn't get the express passport in time. Now I have read and read and read all these damn postings till my eyeballs are popping out and am thinking - maybe I should go cheaper and get the hospital experience somewhere else in Tijuana- maybe Dr. Ortiz is too arrogant and they do treat you like cattle with dollar signs and no follow up at all and that damn lady witht the 10 page posting makes you think Dr. Ortiz' Mother is the wicked wit…

I am an Aussie girl and I am having my first appointment in two weeks with the nurse and doctor in preparation for LB surgery. I have decided this is something I want to keep quiet as this is for me and no one else. I have told my partner and he is supportive. How long should I expect to have to take off work? How long is the usual hospital stay? then recovery time? I can't wait! I have been considering this for a couple of years and am ready to go! I Hope i dont have to wait too long until I am booked in to surgery!

Has anyone heard which one of these doctors is better? Can I get personal opinions on these two doctors? I want to have the best surgery possible, and I need help finding the right doctor. So anybody out there that has information on these two doctors in Houston let me know. Thanks, Debi:help:

  23. Hello, I'm new to this community, and I was hoping someone could help me out. I've been researching this surgery for a while, and have been having a hard time on the internet finding what I need. I'm at a lower BMI than what's required for most surgeries (I have a BMI of 36, I'm 5'6" at 225 pounds). Does anyone know of doctors around New England (willing to go to New York as well) that would be willing to perform the surgery? If it matters at all I plan to do this self-pay. And also, having the surgery sooner than later would be a plus, since I've recently obtained severe acid reflux. And opinions/suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks so much! :help:

I have been looking and looking for a post I had seen a while back that said how much Dr. Fielding/Ren's fills are in NYC - can't find it anywhere, so I'm hoping someone on the Board can help. I will be banded in Mexico (Dr. Ortiz) and I can tell from this forum and others that post-surgical care is critical. I also wanted to know if it was possible to join that practice's support groups (Wednesdays once a month?) I'll happily pay a fee if that's possible. They sound great - including going to restaurants to see how to eat, and learning tons of new things. I am willing to come up from Philadelphia as often as I can, but would like to know if it's feasible. Thanks…

  36. Hi Everyone, Went for my Nutritional Assessment yesterday and saw Dr. Fielding and he said while I was there might as well do my surgical consult as well!! He's just so....smooth! The Aussie accent is so sexy - ANYWAY, November 9th is my date (I have to be nicotine free for 1 month). Coincidently, November 9th is my wedding anniversary as well. So, I'm on my way! Very excited, nervous, scared... Normal I guess. Thanks to everyone on this site for all the great info - I was totally familiar with everything that was presented to me yesterday and Dr. Fielding also said I had "great questions" for him - all thanks to you guys! Hi, I am new to this site, I had a band 10 years ago and had it removed 3 years ago due to slippage, Up to that point I had lost 200 pounds, My lowest weight was 143 and 3 years without the band and back up to 260! I am going to get the band again and going to see Dr Barry Greene at Shady Grove, I saw that you have to take a "test" about the surgery before he goes ahead with it, I have visions of my school days when I always went blank at test time, Has anyone had Dr Greene and what was the test like? Thanks Devon

:think I have been lucky enough to get an equity loan because I own my home, I have top Australian health cover but there is no-where close that I can have the surgery done. I am 124kilos, in my early sixties, and admit I am scared stiff. I have had 2 hernia ops done over the past 2 years. The 1st hernia came back within 3 months, luckily the 2nd time which was last November, I had mesh inserted, so it is fine this time. I have swollen knees and ankles and would give the world to loose weight. However, I also worry if having mesh in my tummy during last years hernia op would affect having Lapbanding done. It may be wise if like 'Sonata' Amanda, I travell to Queensland …

  44. Hi, all - I'm considering getting banded, and live in NYC. It seems like everyone recommends the NYU group. I meet all of their requirements for surgery, except for one: the six months of medically supervised dieting. Don't get me wrong - I've absolutely dieted for at least six months at a time, several times - just not under the direct supervision of a doctor. But do I need to do it again before they'll consider me? Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Thanks in advance!

I have read good comments about Dr. Hadar Spivak. If you have had him perform your lap band surgery, please let me know about your experience. Also tell me how long after you called for an appt. did you have surgery if you were paying cash? Thanks for the information.

I did not end up having surgery with either Hitchcock or Hoehn at Shawnee Mission but I am following their nutritional plan. I would very much like to hear from others who are following it as well. As far as I know I am doing everything by the book as far as what I eat. The only thing I know of that I am not doing is the B complex. Any suggestions on that? Also, any food plan suggestions? I am still in the 3rd stage, which is days 8 - 22 where you add tuna, ff mayo, fish, tofu, etc... :whoo: :whoo: :whoo:
