Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals

I have scheduled my surgery in March with Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum. Can anyone tell me anything about him? I actually live in Kansas and his self-pay price is worth it to fly out 2 or 3 times for the procedure. I was hoping that someone could tell me about him. Thanks!

According to a small paragraph in our bad local paper.. As of Jan 23rd you will need a passport to go Mexico and Canada and other places that we havent had to have one. Does anyone know anything more about this? I figure this adds to the planning of going to Mexico. Are they informing people that they will need to get one? Just curious.

There is a pandemic in the UK. Three Super-Bugs have infected the hospitals. DO NOT GO TO THE HOSPITAL UNLESS IT'S A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. They were covering this up, but the mortality rate is so high, they couldn't keep it quiet anymore. My husband's gran went to the hospital for chest congestion during the cover-up. They cured the congestion, but now she's got one of the super-bugs and is fighting for life. The prognosis is not good. Please send her any positive thoughts you can. I'm scheduled with Dr. Todd McCarty on Nov. 10 but my boss who is 50 pounds over weight wants to have the surgery and pay cash. She definitely wants to stay in Dallas area. Does anybody know of any surgeons that are good and will take somebody who is only fifty pounds overweight?

Hey all, I was getting so excited about having my surgery done by Dr. Ortiz(nothing final yet), but now I got several emails from Dr. Haucuz and they charge only $7550 and it includes airfare, hotel, surgery, transportation to and from the San Diego airport, etc... The only part that made me a tad nervous, was that they said the day after surgery, Dr. Haucuz comes to pick you up and take you to a clinic in oldtown Tijuana to get a flouroscopy done. :nervous Has anyone had the whole experience with Dr. Huacuz. sounds like a great deal but rather different that some others. I have been on a 1 1/2yr journey here. Was on last pscyh (sp) appt..my insurance was going to pay, then Medicare approved the surgery. Dr wasnt with a CTR OF EXCELLENCE and nowhere in KCMetro was. Hi, I like many that I see have to pay for this themselves. I am not sure that I am comfortable going to Mexico for this surgery. But I don't want to put my family in 20,000 debt either. I have heard about the doctor in CO does anyone know of any other doctors in KS, OK, or MO,because i am centrally located to these states, that have reasonable rates. I appreciate all information. Hi everyone! I've been mulling over having this surgery for a long time and I finally got up the nerve to talk to my GP about it. He referred me to Dr. Todd McCarty at Baylor downtown and I'm now scheduled for the seminar on January 25th. I'm going to be self-pay so I'm hoping things will go very quickly. My question is, have any of you used Dr. McCarty? Did you like him, what can I expect pre and post op, how are you doing after your surgery? Thanks for any help you can give me!

I am proud to brag on the doctor and hospital my wife choose for her band (and my upcoming band).. In the current issue of Austin Monthly Dr Clark is listed twice as a top doc. http://www.austinmonthly.com/ He has fantastic manners in dealing with us and is very seasoned with Lapbands. The staff in the surgery center at Seton on 38th street are WONDERFUL as well.

Im having a HUGE problem with my doctor,she wont even join the fight with me to get payment for my Lapband Surgery because she says they'll turn me down because I have no major health problems,besides the fact of what runs in my family and my BMI being 36.9(202lbs) at 5'2 inches tall in height. Hello, I have just started doing the research of this lapband procedure and I can't tell you how excited I am about it! I didn't even know that this existed! Let me recommend my doctors to you,Drs Rachel Keilin and Ron Hekier from Precision Surgery In Texarkana Texas. They did my surgery at Wadley Hospital in July, and things have gone absolutely perfect so far. The care I recieved was second to none, and am now waiting for my husband to have his surgery, and I could not be at peace about him unless I had every confidence in my team from Texarkana. They handled all of my insurance, medical ,and physical needs going through this process. They offer support groups, personal support, and lots of encouragement to their patients. I am WELL PLEASED!

Ok I have been lingering on here for months now and I think I have it narrowed down to either Dr A Rodriguez in Monterey or Dr Kuri. I have heard good things about both. But would love to hear if anyone has anything to add about either. hi i'm having surgery on dec 2 3 days away yikes--well my question was the hospital gave me this respirator looking device to practice breathing by i am having a hard time with it do you inhale and exhale into it untill you reach the desired number? does anyone know what i'm talking about? please help!!!!! sorry if i posted in the wrong thread

I am posting to let you all know about my experience with the Molding Clinic last weekend. . . IT WAS GREAT! I arrived in San Diego on Saturday morning and was greeted by a driver holding a sign with my name on it. He drove me approx. 20 mins to TJ and another 5 mins to the Clinic.
