In any case, be careful traveling if there are any hospitals that perform lapband surgery in the areas mentioned by the article!

I went to Tiajuana on Dec. 4th. for a fill. While riding from the clinic to border I saw 2 different Mexican police pickup trucks filled with 5 or 6 policemen holding military rifles. I notice the newspaper article was on Dec. 1 as I understand the government doesn't want Americans harmed. It would hurt their tourism. I'd say they went to some strong measures.
