  2. So, I was sleeved on 10/22/12... I have been working really really hard, but last time I saw my surgeon (Dec 18) he said I wasn't losing fast enough... My starting weight was 255, and my reward goal is reaching ONEderland...I plan to buy a fitbit. So, I re-doubled my efforts...get in my Protein, eat very low carbs, and excercise on the treadmill for 45 min. EVERY day. I only weigh on Monday mornings, as not to get too discouraged...last Monday, I was 208.9... this morning I get on the scale (scale is at the same place on the floor, wearing undies only, right after my shower) and the scale said... 197.8. I almost fainted. I stepped off, let the scale reset to 00.0, …

Hi, I'm following the directions and introducing myself. Obviously didn't get morbidly obese by following the directions. BMI 39.5 with several other "qualifying" health issues. Went through entire process about 2.5 years ago and decided to give Weight Watchers one more try. Lost enough weight to no longer qualify for Lap Band. Woo Hoo me! Nope...gained it all back. So I am 100% ready to go. I feel educated and comfortable with the process. Biggest fears: controlling portions, liquid diet, and feeling nauseous a lot. Read the book and it is very informative and helpful. Wonderful resource. Thanks LapBandTalk people.

Just wanted to stop on and say hello to everyone. My bypass surgery is planned for January 24th so it is coming up very soon. I went to an all day seminar in June at the hospital to learn about the different options and started all my pre-requisites for surgery from there. Initially, I thought six months would take forever but the time has really gone fast. I finished up everything on November 30th and was approved for surgery on December 21. I am a RN and have done tons of research and feel very confident that I am making the best choice for myself to get my health back on track. Any advice is appreciated and I look forward to getting to know people

I started the preop diet at 303 (cant call it a liquid diet because i didnt stick to the liquid diet - did more of a restricted calorie diet). I did it for a week and lost 6lbs before surgery. I went into surgery one week ago at 297 and weighed for the first time yesterday EVENING at 285. Thats 18lbs in about two weeks - 12 of it in 6 days. I was quite shocked! But stoked none the less!

I've been considering weight loss surgery for awhile now but the first two times I tried to have it I was told that I was "not a candidate at this time" due to my mental health history. But finally, a few days ago, Friday the 3rd to be exact, I was told that I'm now a candidate! I chose the sleeve over the band because I don't think the band gets good results plus I don't want a foreign object in my body. I chose the sleeve over a bypass because a bypass is malabsorbative and I don't want to change the way my psych meds are absorbed. I do have to do a 3 month medically supervised weight loss program be…

The highest I've gotten is 109#, but then I'll drop 2 or 3 pounds the next day- it's really frustrating. I'm taking all my vites, my bloodwork is all normal, but I'm not gaining. I know part of the problem is my stomach capacity. I had forgotten to advance from 1/4 cup portions to 1/2 cup portions like I was supposed to at 6 months post-op so since then I can only eat 1/4 cup portions at meal times; for some reason my stomach won't stretch.…

Be able to walk without being winded 2. Wear a single-digit clothing size and shop in the 'normal' clothing stores 3. Be able to live the normal life of a 21-year old, not being restricted by my size. 4.Go to an amusement park and not worry about weight restrictions or if I'll fit in the seat. 5. Go to Europe, on an airplane, and not have a seat belt extender. those are a few. What are yours?

My first 18 years of life were filled with sports, then I went to college and have had a sedentary life-style since then, and have gained about 120 lbs in the last 15 years. I have tried so many things from diet and exercise to phentermine and nothing worked long term. I am torn...I want to tell some people, but on the other hand I just want to keep quiet about it.

I have tried sooo many diets starting from freshman year in high school. Some I had success and others none at all. So much money wasted on trainers, memberships, special food, medications, videos, equipment, therapist and no long term results. Granted some techniques I didn't give it my all and others once I started to see the results that became the trigger to start eating again. In the beginning he was so against my having the surgery, mainly because he knew nothing about the current procedures and such for the surgery, he only knew of the old days when a lot of people died from complications and stuff. It took quite a while to get him to come around and thanks so much to his daughter who is going through nursing school she helped quite a bit in reassuring him that the advances in technology these days makes the surgery so much safer, and then when he finally saw how many medications I have to take daily, he finally got it.
