  1. Thanks! Sent from my LG-H631 using the BariatricPal App
  2. Okay so in 2013 I was going to get surgery through UHC and completed all the requirements, 6 month supervised diet, psych evaluation, meeting with the surgeon. Even had a surgery date. I was laid off and lost my insurance though and was not able to get the operation. Now in 2016 I have BCBS of Minnesota and I'm wondering will I have to do it all again? Any info about your experiences are greatly appreciated!!!

  6. Hey there, I'm Quinn, 22 and getting sleeved in July and looking for a buddy to go through this with me! Any takers?
  7. Anyone have surgery on the 15th? =)
  8. Hey everyone! I'm Quinn and it looks like I will be sleeved on July 15th, just wanted to say hello!
  9. Sadly my bariatric resources department informed me that the diet is required. UGH! What a let down! But, at least I know that six months from now I should be getting a surgery date!
  10. Congratulations! I hope I'll be getting that call soon!
  11. So since I've decided to get the surgery I have been STRESSING about having to do a six month diet. I know that a lot of people have to do it, for insurance and what not, but it was driving me crazy thinking that I might have to. It was also driving me crazy because I have no patience, so today I got the best news! My insurance doesn't require it so I'm hoping that I everything goes smoothly from here! Hoping and praying!!!

  14. Last night was my first seminar and I'm even more excited than I was before (which I didn't think was possible). They're reviewing my insurance now to see what I need to do to qualify and I'm calling today to make my appointment to meet with the surgeon! =)
  15. Thanks everyone! The hospital has payment plans and I'm contacting UHC tomorrow so hopefully that all works out!

  17. Okay so I have read several things on here about them and have some questions. 1. Do you have to do a six month supervised diet to be approved? 2. Do you really have to pay up front for your surgery and if so how much estimated? And does that include the deductible? 3. Is UHC hard to get approved through? 4. Also, does UHC cover a tummy tuck for any reason? (Like for a hernia?) Just some questions that have been buzzing through my mind, thanks for input!
