  1. First let me start by apologizing for my long story! Believe it or not this is actually the shorter version lol! Last friday on July 18, 2014 marked my One Year Surgiversary!!! This has been an Amazing & Incredible year for me! I weighed in @ 205 LBS, which makes my Total Loss- 116 LBS Down!!! My starting weight was 321 LBS, day of surgery I weighed in @ 314 LBS! Only approx 70 more LBS left to lose & only 6 more LBS to "One-derland"!!! I can't wait! Not only have I lost a huge amount of weight but I have also made so many other Dreams a Reality!!! I have had a GREAT year with my Dad (as the doctors are amazed he is still here & never thought he wo…

  2. I decided in the beginning of January 2014 that I needed help to lose weight. My father had died around Thanksgiving in 2013 and when doing the funeral arrangements for my dad, my former student was there to help us during this difficult time - there was one thing that really stood out - she had gone through a total transformation and inspired me to finally do something for myself. I jumped through all the hoops and attended all the classes and I was scheduled to have my surgery in April 2014. They called me a cheerleader going into surgery because I was so hyped on transforming myself into someone I could actually like once more. When I woke up from surgery I asked …

So as I get closer to my surgery date, more and more questions and "what ifs" are popping into my head. Feeling anxious and excited- What if I get too flabby, what if I can't do it, what if I never love myself even after the surgery. But then again, its one step at a time & as long as im healthy, Im grateful. Taking it as it comes & hoping for the best. PS- exactly how much protein should be taken in daily after surgery?

I got banded on May 30th and what a wild journey. The first two days was painful but on day three I was walking and exercising and pretty shocked at how I felt. On the day of surgery I weighed 255 and 30 days later I got on the scale this morning and weighed 220. I'm in shock. I'm happy and feeling great. My son tells me that he is proud of me which I'm not use to. I had my first fill and up to 3.5 ccs and I was so nervous for nothing. I catch myself wanting to eat when I'm not hungry and that will be my hardest hurdle. But I'm still loving life right now. I have no regrets.

I have high blood pressure for the past 8 years , high cholesterol and I am pre -diabetic which has my doctor concerned . I come from a family of heart disease also so I decided it's time to take control of my health. My mother died of a massive heart attack at 53 years old and had all of the conditions I now have . I have dieted since I was 16 years old . I have always gained the weight back so I have decided it's time to do something different so I have decided to have the sleeve done . …

My insurance company is making me wait 6 months to 2 years before they will approve my surgery. If I have the surgery before it's approved then I will have to pay a penalty. The earliest I'm looking to get the surgery is the end of December. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do now so that when I am post op it will be an easier transition? Thanks

Well, it's been 4 months now since my sleeve. So far absolutely no bad side effects from surgery. I've gotta say I must be one of the lucky few who had absolutely no issues not even gas pains after the surgery. So far I'm down 104lbs, and still going strong. That being said I've had to work my ass off to get there 3-5 days at the gym and 2 of those days are with a personal trainer. I kind of shifted the money I saved in groceries to my training. I've dropped from a 46 inch waist, almost a 48 down to a 40 now and those are getting loose. Shirts have went from 4x to 2x. I haven't had to get to the point of weighing my food or anything I am even able to get most my protein f…

Have just been wearing comfortable clothes since surgery, but today I started trying on all my jeans. There was a pair I wore on my bday in February and I popped one of the buttons off of them that night--today they were too loose!!! Man that felt so good! Went to our county fair tonight and it was so strange to not be binging on all the fried food there. It was kind of a little sad and liberating at the same time if that makes sense Can't wait to keep losing and going down pants sizes and feeling better and better

According to the scale in the surgeon's office, I am down 5.6 lbs this month. Yay me! They want me to lost 14 total in the three months prior to surgery. I've made more changes than I thought possible: 1. cut out between meal Snacks 2. cut out most of the crap 3. cut back on the volume of food at each meal I still haven't added exercise to the mix, though. I have been blocked mentally with everything I think I'm going to start doing. I'm not sure why, but I think it has to do with living with my boyfriend. I want to exercise with him (in my mind, because I imagine it to be a healthy activity we could share), but in reality I don't ENJOY exercising with him, b…

Hi my name is Bryan, I just recently went through the surgery on Monday and am feeling extremely excited for this new change in my life. The general hospital stay should have been 3 days, but I had to stay an extra day due to the fact that I wasn't drinking nearly enough liquids. It's currently my 4th day post-op and I'm having a very hard time drinking enough fluids. I tried to drink crystal light but the lemon and cherry flavors aren't really doing it for me. Is there anything that anyone has tried that they have found good? Any other techniques to make the water taste better? Also, what protein shakes have some of you been drinking? It started off as a simple itch around my incisions and everyone including my dr said this meant the incisions were healing. So I dealt with it. Now a week later, I gave bumps all around the incisions and around my stomach. I called my dr today and she said to take the clear bandages off the incisions and allow them to breath. I'm doing that but it just didn't sound right. I thought they might have me come in and gave a look but they didn't. I'm going to try what my dr said but it doesn't sound right. Has anyone gone through this before and what did you do to fix it? Help please!! ....I am 2weeks out of surgery.

I guess my first appt with the dr was the start date for that right? And that was last week. I am really excited.
