I have been having a really rough time on the liquid diet part hopefully next Thursday I can go on puréed foods. I am also getting down because people make me feel like I will never eat again. I have been craving sushi like crazy and a few people said well keep craving it cause you will never eat that again. I mean why be so cruel. I hope I can def eat sushi after surgery. Some people say oh well you have to wait at least 2 years to eat sushi. It's making me feel like I have to defend myself all the time. My family is super supportive and always tell me I will eat my favorite foods again it's just a matter of time. Other people make it seem like I have committed myself to…

Did anyone else have a 4 week Post-Op Liquid diet? I've never heard of it elsewhere, but my Doctor does it. I'm going crazy. Just finished week 2 and it's so hard to think I have 2 more weeks. Especially since I (thankfully) healed from the surgery super fast. I was drinking normally and up and about basically the day after surgery, but I still can only have nasty Protein Drinks.

I've been dealing with this awful, gnawing hunger, and it actually began right after surgery, of all things. So unexpected. Anyway, I've read a bit about it being stomach acid, but I'm taking Famotidine (sp?) and have for a couple of years now. I also read that Gaviscon helps with this kind of hunger. I also have no signal from my stomach when to stop eating/drinking, and I mean none. It's hard to imagine hunger being acid, but with it being a painful hunger, do you guys think this is what I'm dealing with? It stinks to have gone through surgery to come out on the other side hungrier than before I had it done. i'm also retaining water (ankles, etc).

I am 12 days post op from getting the gastric sleeve and I need some tips on what to do. The surgery did not take away my hunger or my cravings. I am craving everything and just want a burger. I know it's mind over matter but I am seriously sick of the protein shakes! All the protein shakes are all starting to taste and smell the same. I am literally counting down when I can eat again I hate soup so I'm just drinking crystal light added to my water and caramel protein shakes and It doesn't help that people in the home get to eat solid and that thanksgiving is coming up but by thanksgiving I will be on pureed food. When I look at some of the forums I don;t understand why…

Hey guys, I had my surgery on June 22, 2016 and I used to be 250 pounds. I am now 185 pounds, meaning that I only lost 65 pounds. My goal weight is 150 but I feel like I should have reached that a while ago. Should I go in for additional surgery? Should I diet and exercise even harder? If anyone has any advice or can relate, please let me know.

I’ve been throwing everything up and I feel like I will end up going back to my doctor . So far today I’ve only gotten down 16oz of liquids at home . I drank 32oz but threw half up . Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Hello all, So here is my dilemma... I weigh myself every morning and always use the same scale and try to do it at the same time each day... Has it happened to any of you that all of a sudden you lose, lose, lose and one day the scale starts going back up? Last week, for example, I was losing evry day, I got down to 183.6...and then two days in a row it went to 184.6 and today 185.8. Nothing changed, I did not eat any more or less than usual... But this is certainly concerning. I was just wondering if anyone had the same experience?

I got sleeved 11/9 so it's only been 4 days. Today I feel so nauseous and struggling with my fluids. Got my walk in though, even if it was for 10 minutes. Every day I feel a little bit better but how long until I feel 100%? I know the next couple months will be a struggle but some insight will be helpful.

Hello, I was sleeved October 17th. It has been far from an easy journey. I have been in the hospital more than not because of dehydration, I am still on clear liquids. Halloween I had to do a CT scan and found out I have a blood clot in my stomach, in the vein right next to my liver. I was in back in the hospital for 5 days and now home taking it easy and now on blood thinners for at least 6 months. Has anyone else gone through this?

Seriously, I thought the sleeve was supposed to make that go away. It's not quite the same kind of hunger as before, but it's certainly NOT head hunger. It's starting to really annoy me. I am eating about 1000 calories a day with a minimum of 80g of protein. Breakfast is always a protein shake with 1.5 cup of 30 calorie almond milk and two different scoops of powder for a 50g protein total. The past few days that has been going right through me, not sure if I'm drinking it too quickly? Does that happen? I'm wondering if the artificial sweeteners in jello and popsicles and even some of the protein powders are messing with me. Before the sleeve, I onl…

Hi all I was looking for a 200 pounds and under posts, but couldn't find it. Are there any of you out there under 200 pounds who had the surgery and loosing the weight. My frame is 5'3”and I was 202 at the start of the program, did the LSD, and lost about 15 pounds. Had the surgery on 10-30-17 and at about 181.1 pounds. I know I don't have as much weight to loose as others, but it's still hard for us that are at 200 pounds. So anyone want to talk, would love to hear from you.

I had my surgery Monday, I'm four days out and on Phase 3. I find that it is really hard to get the fluids in, depending on the time of day. My scale hasn't really budged. I've met my fluid goals (barely). Today I wanted some fresh broth, ordered soup, strained everything out and drank that with unflavored protein powder. Then it dawned on me - is this allowed in Phase 3? Is it normal not to see an immediate drop on the scale?

Hi all. I'm two weeks post op and am doing well overall. I am wondering if anyone ever experienced random dizzy spells after surgery. They seem to come on very suddenly and I have to immediately sit down drink some water and rest. It seems to happen every day. I'm also sleeping a lot and get tired very quickly. I'm thinking maybe it's dehydration or a blood sugar drop. I don't have diabetes. I'm hoping it is something that will improve over time. Sent from my Lenovo YT3-X90F using BariatricPal mobile app

I’m 26 days post op and am on soft foods right now but it seems that anytime I eat or try to reintroduce something to my body I throw up. Two nights ago I had some mashed sweet potatoes and I got a few spoons in then started throwing up. Then today I had a cup of broccoli cheddar soup (which I’ve had recently no problem) but I’m today I immediately threw up after getting half of the cup down in about 35-40 minutes. Maybe I’m eating too fast or eating too much? Im freaking myself out and think maybe I should go to the hospital but everyone’s told me if I was gonna have a leak I would have had it by now and the likelihood of me having a leak now is low.

Hey guys! I was sleeved 12/14/16. I'm almost a year out and I'm down over 120 pounds. I struggled with dehydration since day one, even till this day unfortunately I would feel sick every now and then due to not drinking enough water. Believe it or not ALL WATER IS NOT THE SAME! So if you are struggling with dehydration I hope this helps.. 1-3 months I only drank gerber baby water. $1 for gallon at Walmart Currently - Poland spring, Fiji and my new favorite CORE. Core is expensive but it is worth it for those who are struggling with dehydration. Each bottle is 30oz and today I had 3 bottles... that is the first time ever since surgery I got that much liquid down in 24…

I had my surgery on the first of November. At first I was really achy everything I was given something to drink, now on the other hand I really just want to really eat instead of drinking. I have cheated here and there with a bite of food , which I have been okay with. I am now wondering if I could just start eating and skipping the whole 8 weeks of purées. Any suggestions? I had a size 18" neck for my dress shirts. I currently wear a 15 1/2". Today through some unplanned laundry problems I did not have a new 15 1/2" shirt to wear. I had to wear one of my 18" shirts. I had three people at work who see me everyday ask if I'm losing weight. Since my surgery everyone at work has seen me and everyone can see that that I am losing weight. The first few weeks had many asking about my health. So, by wearing a larger garment people who see me everyday finally realized that I'm losing weight. I'm not complaining I just find it amusing. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I seem to have the day 5 post op blues if there is such a thing. I am really hungry today, I think because my pain has subsided greatly and I'm moving more and also because the liquid medications and the shakes seem to leave a artificial sweet taste in my mouth. I crave salt like mad too. The last few days I've been having a shake for breakfast, milk mid morning, soup for lunch, milk mid afternoon, soup for tea and a shake/smoothie later in the evening (one tin of soup will do me 3 ish portions) and I have water/ sugar free squash/tea throughout the day. Is this too much? I'm so worried I'm going to stretch my pouch. I haven't been or felt sick, occasional I get a little…

Hello beautful people! I recently decided I need to so something about my weight especially since my friend had the Sleeve done. I have been looking around because my insurance will not cover this surgery. Im 26 years old and barely making it with what I'm getting paid right now. When looking for a facility that doesn't charge and arm and a leg I came across BeLite weight website and I spoke with SKY and they suggested surgery on Juarez MX with 1,500 down and payments after $6000 is still alot of money for me but it's the only way I can get this done! can anybody tell me or answer if this is a legit website or are they trying to take my body parts lol no really tho ? * ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE CHANGING YOUR DIET. We have all know that if we create a calorie deficit we will lose weight. That is correct. Yet it can drive you nuts when you suddenly stall. The science is simple, we eat the same amount of calories for weeks on end. This creates a calorie deficit and we lose weight. After many weeks of dieting like that, we stall. It's due to your shrinking body mass. Less body mass needs less calories. Our metabolism slows in response. It's a process called Adaptive Thermogenesis. It can slow our metabolic rate as much as 20% To keep your metabolism burning at peak levels just add calories. DO THIS ONE DAY A WEEK O…

AT ABOUT 3 MONTHS I STARTED LOSING LOTS AND LOTS OF HAIR. WHAT WAS WORSE WAS THAT IT WAS IN THE FRONT WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE. I WAS SO FREAKED OUT ABOUT MY HAIR LOSS I WENT TO MY DOCTOR TO SEE WHAT I CAN DO. FIRST THING HE ASKED IS IF I TAKE ALL MY VITAMINS....WELL THAT WAS A NEGATIVE. I WASN'T TAKING THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS BECAUSE THEY'D MAKE ME FEEL SICK. I STARTED TAKING THEM RELIGIOUSLY AND ADDED BIOTIN. MY HAIR HAS BEEN GROWING OUT NOW, AND I DON'T LOSE AS MUCH HAIR. ***SO THE KEY IS TO MAKE SURE YOU TAKE ALL YOUR VITAMINS EVERY SINGLE DAY***

I'm somewhat concerned at the fact I'm able to drink water at a very normal, pre-op pace. I see so many having issue getting the proper amount of fluids in, whereas I can blow through 96+ oz of water in a day, plus protein shakes, broth, and Popsicles. I was sleeved on October 30th, so I'm a little over a week of recovery. I truly thought I'd have more of a resistance to fluid intake; which worries me about actual food intake and how much I'll be able to consume.

I keep wavering between both procedures but now after reading all the horror stories about the band I'm now leaning more toward the sleeve, just worried & scared that something will go wrong since there's risks no matter what type of surgery you're having. I guess I'll keep reading all the success stories so I don't keep changing my mind! Is is true that you can never eat the same, have to change the foods you used to eat, do you have nausea at all, does the food "get stuck, what about heartburn"? Any feedback is much appreciated!
