Throwing up after eating.

Recommended Posts

I’m 26 days post op and am on soft foods right now but it seems that anytime I eat or try to reintroduce something to my body I throw up.

Two nights ago I had some mashed sweet potatoes and I got a few spoons in then started throwing up. Then today I had a cup of broccoli cheddar Soup (which I’ve had recently no problem) but I’m today I immediately threw up after getting half of the cup down in about 35-40 minutes. Maybe I’m eating too fast or eating too much?

Im freaking myself out and think maybe I should go to the hospital but everyone’s told me if I was gonna have a leak I would have had it by now and the likelihood of me having a leak now is low.

I am a year out and still throw up when I eat too much or too fast. I've found certain foods trigger it more than others ...anything heavy or starchy... potatoes..bread... Or milk based like the creamy Soup you had triggered mine as well. At 26 days out your stomach isn't healed all the way...it's still new and still sensitive. Just take your time introducing foods and eventually things will get better ❤

For me throwing up meant I ate too much. I can get 2 spoons/forks in then I stop, I wait for a little while and I might be able to eat a few more but that is it. I also heard that some people get a running nose if they eat too much also.

That’s so weird that you said that cause I’ve been having a runny nose when I get nauseous! I thought I was just getting sick

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
