I was thinking to create this thread for those having surgery on Monday. Perhaps we could share our Gastric Sleeve Journey together as our own 'group' by posting to this thread. My surgery time is 9:45a EST in NJ and I'm ready! My surgeon only requires one day Clear liquids prior to surgery and I just ate my last 'normal' meal so here I go... I'm 67 years old and looking forward to my surgery date. I'm told I probably have about a 2 month wait until everything lines up and insurance gives the go ahead. Until then, I'm slowly eliminating my trigger foods, takong re recommended supplements, reducing intake to at least half my usual amount. I like Premier Protein shakes and taking 2 a day. Lots of Water, which is easy for me as that's my go to when thirsty. I'm committed to doing what it takes to embark on this journey. I'll be there for you as I know you'll be there for me. Reach out and share...

Hey Guys, I'm new to this website, but VERY happy to see so much info and support. I see so much excitement from people to receive their surgery date, but are/were any of you ho hum about it all? Maybe it's the pre-op diet lacking carbs, caffeine, and yummy foods or perhaps depression getting in the way, but I'm not as excited as others are for the surgery. This is something I know I HAVE TO DO to gain my life back, but it's not exactly something I'm thrilled with. I'm trucking along through the diet just fine I guess, but I keep thinking I should be more excited. More excitement means more motivation, right?

My pre surgical consult is Feb 24. I been through this years ago but just didnt have the mindset to continue past the consult . This time around my mindset is ready and been researching extensively gastric bypass. I also have developed a list of healthy foods to make part of my new healthy lifestyle after the transition. I am thinking ahead and steady creating an atmosphere that becomes my lifestyle with the vegetables and fruits that I should have been eating and enjoying instead of the sweets and unheathly foods. I figure its never too early to develop the mindset needed after pre & post op diet. The fact is that we wont be on liquid supplements for life. The realit…

Ever taken or ever been administered the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, a standardized psychometric test of adult personality and psychopathology? You probably have many times before, but you just didn't know it. Psychologists and other mental health professionals use various versions of the MMPI to help develop treatment plans; assist with differential diagnosis; help answer legal questions (forensic psychology); screen job candidates during the personnel selection process; or as part of a therapeutic assessment procedure. Often, these tests are administered by companies selecting from a vast pool of prospective applicants for an open position. However,…

Im looking in to getting a revision from lap band to sleeve. My paperwork was submitted on 10/24 and found out today that it was partially denied. I was approved to have the lap band removed but denied for the sleeve. My doctor's office will be doing a Peer-to-peer appeal on Tues or Wed. Did anyone have to go through that with Aetna? If so, what was the outcome?

I just came back from my doctors office and she told me that she cannot clear me for surgery until my respiratory infection goes away. I'm pretty bummed about the situation but at the same time, I do want to be well enough to have this surgery. I usually bounce back to health fairly quickly after being sick but for some reason, I can't seem to shake this cold that I had for so long. Is there anybody out there right now with any set backs for surgery clearance? Please share Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

Hi guys. I've found Adkins berry, and Lemonade... I have NOT tried the Isopure yet, but I was wondering if there are any flavors that anyone especially likes? My surgery is set for the 6th of March... and I'm good for the Protein shakes... but with the clear, it might be nice to have a LITTLE more variety....

I was told to just take the liquid vitamin and the sublingual vitamin B12 until my post op appointment. They said I should check into the brand names before I buy the B12 to make sure they've been tested and used for bariatric patients. So I was wondering has anyone done this? What brands of sublingual B12 do you use?

Hi there. My insurance does not cover WLS in the US, I think I'm going to Mexico. My question is, does everyone in the US have to go through endoscopy and colonoscopy before their procedure or is this just an insurance requirement? I do not believe this is part of the procedure in Mexico. Thank you in advance.

Been in this liquid first the last two weeks, been mentally and physically preparing for this surgery and I get a call yesterday to cancel because my surgeon has some emergency clinic. Try to reschedule me for another two weeks out but I said fuck that. I won't do another 2 weeks out. I have my shifts all worked out to be covered I hate this fucking diet and they think it's just a simple reschedule. I may loose my job because of this now and I've definitely already lost my sanity. I feel so discouraged I'm begging the Dr to put me in this week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
