Website Assistance & Suggestions

Where are my notifications? I am using the android app. I get the email, but then I have to go to participated to find it on here. Is that the only way?

I know, I'm an idiot, but I cannot figure out how you update the data in your ticker. Anyone?

I am so tired of these pissing matches where people think they have to get the last word in, but they keep showing up in new content. We have the ability to block users, why not the ability to block threads? Yes, I know I have the ability to not click on them, I also had the ability to loose weight without surgery, you can see where that got me.

It appears when you post, at least on the ap for the iPhone, it hangs, and then times out again. But if you close out of the ap and go back to the post, the post is there. It's just annoying. Site seems a bit better though. Thanks for all you do.

When I quote a post in the ios app, it doesn't put the attribution of the person I'm quoting and I don't think it is styled as a quote in the web view. The first is how it looks in the app and the second is if I click the post in the app to see the HTML view.

I use the android app and I cant find where to see my subscribed threads, I thought maybe under participated tab but nothing shows up there. I have uninstalled/reinstall. Thank you for the current fixes though now if I could just find subscribed I will be happy lol

Hi. I believe I just figured out why we can't see our banded friends. Just not completely sure. So you know I am using the Ap. What I think is going on, I used to always go under Current to see new threads. It seems the Sleeves are there, not sure about Bypasses. But the Banders aren't there. To find the Banders threads, you have to go to the band section and post there. It used to be if you went to Current it would show any new threads. Not 100% on this, but that's what it appears to be. And I bet, that's what many are doing, which would cause frustration. I know it is me. After the new site came up, I kinda felt like I couldn't find my banded friends. Tha…

Things are very difficult to find. I used to be able to just pop in and see the trending topics on the right and then hit View All and scan most recent topics. Now it seems as though I have to go into each subtopic group and scan through the posts in there. I don't like this. I like to read post from all different subgroups. For example I am post op but like to read pre op and give advice if possible. You get the idea.

I think the people who have all the code in their posts have used the website's capability to adjust the font and colors in their posts. I seem to recall you could change your default font style, size, and color and it would affect all your posts. If that is the case, can you guys just disable that capability? It is actually a bad idea for accessibility reasons anyway, especially for people with low vision or color blindness. Also Alex I know you said you hired someone to do this app. I hope you have since fired them, that's all I'm gonna say about that. The website itself is much better than before though!

When we would click on quote on the old site, it would only quote the comments from that member and not the quote he/she was responding too. This new site includes all quotes. Takes up too much space and bytes.

At some point today the app decided to make me all lap-band, all the time, I'm seeing nothing but lap-band threads unless I specifically go to the RNY boards and search them individually (which isn't an easy feat). I went to the web site where I'm still listed as RNY and getting RNY posts except according to the web site there's no new content on the RNY boards so again I have to go in to each topic individually....so basically I'm staring at lap-band threads. So....how do I get the app (iPad/iPhone both) to make me an RNY again. Nothing against life with a lap band but I did my time there just not pertinent to me any more!

I use iPhone and iPad app. I am never on my computer. I miss being able to just click current and being able to see just lapband posts.

My little profile summary on the left has started showing me as a lap band patient. I am not now, nor have I ever been, a lap band patient. I have a vertical sleeve. How can I change this? Thanks!

Hen you post while using the app it hangs and then says there's a connection error. It actually does post, but seems like it's hanging. It's happened a few times today.

In the iPhone app, but not the iPad app, clicking "Subscribed" then "forums" crashes the app for me. Every time. I have force-quit the app but it doesn't help. This has been going on for several days. So many problems have resolved on their own that I wanted to give it some time before reporting it.

As the title says my spell checker in FF no longer works with the new website. It no longer highlights/underlines misspelled words. I have no idea if it is a FF issue or a BP issue. Would be nice to have it fixed though I don't expect it to be at the top of anyones list.

VerticalSleeve talked worked well. This new format sucks. I missed reading and posting but I hate that I can't see new content. Is that feature going to come back? It is time consuming to go to each folder and see what is new.

Things are nearly back to normal, thank you. One problem I do have when accessing using an ipad is that if anyone puts a link in their post when I click on it a new page appears but it remains blank.

The Last page of each thread is not coming up for me. It keeps telling me that it doesn't exist.

The site and the app are working for me, at least as well as before and better in some ways. Thanks for the hard work getting the bugs ironed out. The only thing still crashing is the subscribed forums on the iPhone app (reported elsewhere).

Hi. When I post something, it used to go right to my subscribed threads. Then I could follow conversations. Now, it doesn't. And it's frustrating. I don't use my pc that much anymore and I am frustrated. . Help

Alex I can't find a tech support area so I am asking this question here. Are we ever going to be able to see which people "liked" a post? In the past it has helped me identify with like minded people and now that feature appears to be gone. I know I can still "like" a post but I can no longer see who else has. Thanks!

I need a letter stating that I am part of a support group as part of my approval process for my insurance. This is the last part that I need before my case is submitted to insurance. Hoping to have surgery in December. Any help will be appreciated. ~Christy

I can see my tickers when a post in topics but I cannot see them on my blog or update them. :-(

Has anyone using the ANDROID application noticed this error? Going on a page that has 3 for example but only being able to go to page 2 , because it says page 3 does not exist..

How do you add a count down ticker if surgery was actually in the past? When I try it gives an error along the lines of goal cannot be less than start. Maybe there needs to be a new ticker added for time since surgery perhaps?

This is the wrong section but this site is impossible to navigate, I'm just trying to find a place to post regarding email options and the newsletter we get sent. I rarely come to this site, haven't been on in years, but I keep having to log on lately to sort my email options, i'm repeatedly getting sent stuff clogging up my inbox when I've set my notifications NOT to get emails. Under my profile picture over there on the left, it says I am a LapBand Patient. I'm not. I'm a sleeve patient. How do I change this? It seems to me that this designation means that the Lapband forum is being brought up as a default for me both as a home page and for searches, and I'd rather see vertical sleeve results. I also noticed I'm not the only VSG patient that says Lapband there. Linda

If you go into the app and get errors saying you don't have permission, you are probably logged off. To log back in you need to kill the app and restart it. To do that on iOS, click the Home button once to get to the home screen, then double-click the Home button and swipe the BariatricPal app upward out of your list of running apps. (This is on iOS). I see lots of people with these permission issues and I hope they will see this and stop reporting it. Now, a couple theories about why this is happening. Alex and co will probably know for sure. 1. Why does a thread say 3 pages but I try and go to page 3 and it says it doesn't exist ??

I installed the new app and now I can only get the first page of each thread. I am hopeful this can be fixed quickly.

How do you view someone's profile? See their ticker? All that stuff? Maybe I just cannot do that on the iPad, not sure. Thanks for any help!

Using the ios app. When I get a notification of an update to a subscribed thread, I click the thread and it looks like I'm at the page with the first unread message. However, the content is actually page 1. To get to the real page with the unread content (say page 7), I have to click another page link (doesn't matter which) and then click back to the page with the actual new content. I hope that makes sense.
