I am positive I am missing something here, lol. I registered at BariatricPal 7 years ago when I was getting a lap band. I am getting ready for revision to gastric bypass, but every time I try to search for something I get defaulted to the lap band forums. Is there a way to set preference? You would think I had never been on a forum before. Sheesh!

I All - I have links to two research studies that folks here on BP will find interesting. Where do they go? I thought there was a forum for research. But now I can't find it...it's been hot here in sunny Mountain View, Ca (full disclosure : it's only been 80 degrees) and my mind is melting (I'm a weather wimp). Insurance seems to be one of the main concerns with wls due to the sheer costs of the surgery. I think it would be great to have an insurance subforum. it would be great to break it down even further into major insurance providers where people can instantly come together. just a thought. great forum either way. cheers. happy 4th!!!

I suggest making a sub-forum just for people to talk about stalls. It is a big issue that constantly comes up everywhere.

I'm usually pretty good at the net but I can't figure out how to update or delete information in the left side bar? I want to update surgeon, change location, etc.

As a newer member, I think it would be real beneficial for moderators to be able to stick a popular thread on the front page of sections. great stickies would be things like facts about different aspects of wls. other maybe, nausia and how to treat it. non scale victories, etc.

Have not posted in a long time. Was planning to do an update in the new (at least to me) Veterans Forum. I certainly meet the requirements of being a year out from sleeve surgery. I was sleeved 12/29/09. But it won't let me start a new topic. Longhorn

Wondering if you can give me any troubleshooting ideas why when I post--almost every time when I hit post it just sits there cycling and doesn't post. I have to log off, sometimes all the way out of BP, log back on, repaste my message, cross my fingers, try posting it again. Sometimes it'll go, sometimes I have to do the same thing again. it's so frustrating and time-consuming. I'm on AOL with Internet Explorer. Any suggestions? I'm not very techy-oriented, so try not to be complicated. Thank you!

Hello! On my android app cant seem to see alot of pictures it shows a blank square tried to open but no image only some of them show anybody has this problem also?? Thanks

When I log in, I click "New Content" and then directly into the "Lap Band" section.... And yet, it seems the majority of posters there are people other than those with the lap band surgery?? Even when the OP is is a Lap Bander, and asks a specific lap Band question or comment, the majority of responses are from those who have had other surgeries? Is this giving the OP a realistic discussion???? I have had the lap band procedure....I cannot and will not post under a topic that was started and pertains to say, Sleeving, for instance. How do you post a question

I'm having one of those moments where I wonder how the heck I have a doctorate degree when I can't figure out an app So, I've posted a few times and that's great but sometimes when I come back on one of the icons in the line of icons along the bottom will have a red number on it. When I press it I am taken to a list of the posts I've made and to the far right of each post there is a gray number. What the heck is that? Did someone comment on it? Like it? If I click on that post all it does it take me back to the original thread where there are no additions. Clearly I'm missing something. What am I being notified about? Thanks!

So I created and saved my tickers, it's set to public but not showing up after my posts? Is there anything I'm doing wrong or something else I need to do for them to show??

Can we delete threads that we started?

Im sure someone has made the suggestion, but in the off chance it hasn't yet...any chance we can get one? The post op forum in the main section is fine but it's full of the fresh post opers. If your 6 months but not quite the 12 months required to post in vets section, you tend to not have a place to find those that are in that range. Most have tried posting anyways in the post op but your voice gets largely ignored. I see some post in vets anyways but technically we aren't welcome there either. Gamergirl originally mentioned this in another thread somewhere...so credit goes to her.

I wish you were able to see more of people's profile information within the app. Also when you go in to make changes to things on your stuff it kicks you out of the app into the main website which is frustrating because it is not formatted for a mobile device when it does that and run really slow and awkard. I still have yet to see where you can track your weight and eating WITHIN the APP as it suggest????

Question. How do I view the photo gallery from within the app? I love seeing the inspiring pics and following people on their journey, but I can't figure out how to view their profile or even find the photo gallery on the app! Help!

Hi, I just signed up in March and my before picture shows that I have had 648 views! That's concerning to me! I see other's and they don't have near as many views. I don't want that many views! I can't find any settings to see if it's viewable in public out in internetland or not. I hope not! We are not making this journey public. Does that seem like too many views to you or normal for this site?

What pain medications have you had success with since WLS? I am 10 months post-op, I have lost 120 lbs and still have 42 to go. This week I ended up in the ER with ovarian cysts. Very painful. The ER doc is not real familiar with WLS and gave me pain meds that just aren't working. What have you had the best luck with?

I think the favicon I see on my Firefox tab is new . . . or at least new-ish? Today is the first day I remember seeing it and I love it. I'm kind of OCD about my web browsing and a site without a favicon drives me nuts! I'm so happy to see it now. It's very nicely done, too.

I am on android mainly. When I click on chat, I find a whole new world. But not chat. I have been having great success on android but I am afraid of stirring the pot. I can't get surgeons either. Sigh.

Seems like every time I hit "next" in a multiple page post I get the above message without the blah part, of course. What does it mean? I don't want to do things that are not allowed!

Hey Alex -- Small issue, really, but an irritating one. I normally log in via my iPhone, but when the Bariatric Pal app became nonfunctional and wouldn't allow me to log in after a phone upgrade, I had to pop onto the site here to change my password, etc. While on the website, I noticed the lower control bar and the "Friend's Online" indicator. This possessive implies that the "online" belongs to my friend. Is it possible to have this erroneous apostrophe removed?

Are there mods who can help get rid of trolls?

I was asked to join a group on the bypass board, and when I open the link I don't see a button to click to join. It just tells me I cannot comment on that thread. I also want to send a message to someone I am going to be buddies with and it won't allow me to send her a message. Anyone have any quick fixes for me? Thank you!

@@Alex Brecher. I was looking over when I post and I noticed I usually center the page on the post area only. Rarely do I even see the titles at the top of the page listing the forum topic or room. I know absolutely nothing about programming but I was thinking.....If you could list the forum room right after the "how many minutes ago'' line in every post. .......ie: " posted 9 minutes ago in The Man Room" It would be more visible when reading each post I know I've mentioned it before, but just thought I'd re-approach it with more of a suggestion than just complaint.
