I only access BP from my iPad and since the last update, all of a sudden, there are ads everywhere. Too, too many. I don't mind a few and they should be obviously marked so easily passed by as none hold any interest for me. Can you find a happy balance? Must they appear in EVERY thread? At one time I used a great water tracking app and then they made it burdensome to use with too many ads, so I deleted it and track my water in my LoseIt app. I've found myself spending less time with BP since the app was updated and it will be even less if overwhelmed with ads in every thread.

...how to open an attachment into the post? It's rare that, when I want to cut/paste or copy/paste into a post I'm typing, I get a window with options that have nothing to do with those operations. It offers Save Page As and others, including something about Frame. Is there an alternate, sure-fire method of pasting into BP posts? A good alternative would be the ability to open an attachment into the body instead of having it as a link. It's a Word document that I would like to enter into my post. People say they can't clear notifications, I can't find them! Example, I get an email that somebody mentioned me in a post. I used to delete the email, and then look at notifications next log in. Now, I have no idea where to see the notification if I deleted the email. I used to select "content I follow" which appears to be the same as subscribed but doesn't show when a subscribed forum is updated. I have had happen, and notice it for others too....that posts"hang" and since you can't think 'll, you hit the send button again and you get multiple, repeat posts. Just tried a couple of times on one post. Both times, I got an error message, paraphrasing it as "your effort at registering a reputation thingie won't take." Also, when I click open and review notificaitons (I do it from the top-right of my laptop screen), I can go into each notification in the list. Howeve, when I check the very top box to clear all at once, they don't all clear -- only one at a time. FYI

I went to the the 'my content' option under my name and it's coming up as no topics, even though I know I have a lot of threads I have been participating in. The same thing happened on the app, any idea where ll my threads are? Also, my (and it seems everyone else's) ticker isn't showing up. When I checked my content again, even the answer to this thread from eclecticwingtips didn't show.

Since downloading the latest upgrade to the app on my iPhone, I can't figure out how to "clear" notifications (the number in the red bubble next to the app's pic). They just keep accumulating. How can I clear them? Thanks!

Hi, I put some pics up and would like them removed. I am happy with the post, just want to drop the pics.

I have attempted time & time again over the course of the past week to update my profile. I am trying to upload new photos because since the first photo I posted, I have lost an additional 100lbs and am very proud. I have also seen on other peoples profiles where they are able to put there starting weight, as well as where they are now. I also am not able to send any private messages to anyone at all. My profile name was changed, or rather a sequence of numbers added to the original when RNY and Bariatric Pal combined. Under my ticker it says '68.5kgs lost' (which is the total amount I have to lose) instead of the amount I have actually lost. I've checked the ticker properties and everything is in the right place, how can I fix this?

So I understand that this site probably makes its money mostly through adverts but I've just had two in a row that seem rather inappropriate - one was for McDonalds and the other was for a bakery, complete with gorgeous colour photos of pastries. Is there a way to get rid of these unhelpful, and potentially triggering, adverts?

When I want to quote & reply to more than one post in a topic while keeping my post in a single message box, my attempts fail if the posts to be quoted are on different pages. Example, I clicked "Multiquote" for a post on page 5 and entered my comment below it. Then I browsed ahead to page 6, where I found another post I wanted to comment on. Again, I clicked "Multi," but ended up in a new entry box, not the first where I'd already quoted/commented. In search of the first and not wanting to risk losing the second, I clicked "Post new topic," then learned that my original quote/comment had disappeared. How to keep all in one box? Internet Explorer. Just started happening tonight. Every time I go to a new page, on forums, a "share" toolbar slides in from the left (facebook, twitter, etc.). It covers up things I'm trying to click on. Browser isn't do it on any other site, so I'm guessing it's this site.

Just wanted to clarify that links to blogs (or any links) are not allowed in signatures, correct?

I'm having terrible trouble with bariatricpal crashing my browsers? I've tried it in IE, firefox and chrome and it does it in all of them (chrome last marginally longer then starts freezing/stops responding). It's only happening with this site, so I don't know if it's one of the ads setting it off or something, but it's very frustrating.

Sorry to always be complaining, but for the last month or so I haven't been able to answer any posts on the app. It just says 'you have reached the end of the thread' and doesn't give me an option to reply anywhere like it used to.

Does anyone know how to do this? I previously had sleeve surgery and still am a "sleeve believer" however I would like to change it to something else.

I tried to "like" and post in a "Groups" forum topic this a.m., but found no place to click into an entry box. Also saw no "like" click-upons at the bottom of existing posts. It's as though I'm not logged in for topic purposes. I logged out and in again; same problem. I refreshed my screen a few times; same problems remained. All other forums were fully operational for me. Is there something about "Groups" that denies full access? I think I've never before tried to post in a "Group" topic.

My surgery was Oct 2009, which I'd like to show in the left-screen data. How to get "Oct" in there? No matter what I try when I edit, it comes back as Sep 2009. Originally I had Oct 23 2009 showing, but don't want a day included as it's only part of the story.

I just noticed two BP people on my profile screen as "friends." One of them I exchanged one note only, perhaps on status feed -- skimpy contact. The other's name is unfamiliar to me. Sparkpeople.com, the only other interactive website I use, provides for friends by choice only, not assigned by themselves or anyone/anything else. What does it mean in BP? If BP gives the capability to someone to choose him/herself for me, what do they get from it? What can I do if I don't wish an individual to have access to whatever that may be?

So I'm a very visual kinda gal. I like to look at my progress, in the chart view. However, the dates in the chart view are about a month different (later) than the dates in the list view (the list is correct). So for today, the label is 11/19/15, not 10/19/15. Just sayin'.

I'll see that I have notifications by the red number beside the flag, however, when I click on the flag it continues searching but never lists them. This is a recent development.....the past day or so.

Alex B, First, I keep getting notices that my email is not taking emails from BP. Nothing has changed and want to keep the same info. I have tried on many occasions to pretend I forgot my password and nothing has been done. I am beyond frustrated as I want to participate in BP and prefer to do so on my tablet. So I've noticed that I can't open any threads that have an emoticon anywhere in the title. Elode started one that say "help" with a smiley face, and all I get is "can't display this page" when I click on it. It happened with another thread before and I thought it was just a glitch, but now I see that ANY thread with an emoticon in the title is no-go for me. Any thoughts? I've tried explorer and firefox, and it's the same. Oh noooooo... now y'all know the secret to keeping me out of a conversation!!!

On the phone app, my profile has someone else's data. The only thing right is my screen name. Whose data is this and how can it be fixed? Thanks!

I opted out of emailed notices of new posts in topics I follow to avoid the frequent duplications. I expected that I'd find new posts in those topics by clicking the "New Content" tab. New posts are added to all those topics, but "new content" shows me very few of them. That is, the same few reliably appear in "new content," while most never do. Can this be remedied? Is there something I need to do to remedy it? I checked my subscription list and it's not a matter of my being mistaken as to my "follows." Anyone?

Whenever I type in a lower case "b" within parentheses, the final post shows the opening paren followed by a yellow face. The closing paren completely disappears. How to retain what I type, please? Is there a secret code? (

Is the site undergoing maintainance? Why does it give info on the lap band, sleeve, plication, bypass surgeries but not DS?

....will the people I've been getting to know know that I am still myself? When I signed on to BP, I didn't know that the visible name part of my email would necessarily become the screen name. It's pretty bad for that purpose, but I don't want to have to wave semaphores to let folks know what's up.

It's getting worse. This morning I found 17 emails about new posts in one topic and 5 notices of new posts in another topic. In fact there were only 3 new notes in the first and one in the other. Also received notices of new posts in two different private "conversations." I'd already read them, thanks to notices received yesterday. Can something be done by BP to stop the floods of misleading, incorrect email? Is there something I can do myself to stop it?

I went to "My Profile," but couldn't find where to make changes to expand the personal info that shows down the left side of screen. My guess is that the surgery date that shows now, Nov 1999, is BP system default? My goal now is the change the screen name from "WLS Resources/Clothing Exchange" to something warmer and less ponderous. It seems that way. I have zero problems accessing this site from my MacBook or iPhone.........but the iPad goes nuts on here. Halfway through typing a response it will have an error.....refresh automatically and my response is deleted. Many other weird issues. I'm logging into the full site.....not using the app. Perhaps this is the issue??? Full site is fine on my phone and laptop, though.

I do not know who to contact but I can not respond to or post in the veterans forum, I had surgery almost 2 years ago and do not want to be limited to the newbies or beginners as I need to communicate with people out over a year.
