Etiquette of posting in "[opposite sex] Only" forum?

I skimmed the "Forum Rules," but spotted nothing that addresses my question.

Is it considered offensive or a shocking breach of etiquette at BariatricPal to post in a topic under a other-gender-only heading? I noticed one in the "Recent Topics" list (right side of screen) and, reading the posts, thought I'd like to make a few serious and light comments; the topic really is interesting not only in view of losing weight, but in societal terms, too.

Now the confession.... I did post, but not my primary comments. Mentioning that I had to go learn to use the "multi quote" feature, I also wrote that, if the participants told me not to come back, I would respect their choice and would also "unfollow" the topic.

What's the practice around here? Do the "one-gender-only" topics mean that the other gender is unwelcomed or does the designation simply indicate that the topic is of particular interest to the one gender?

Yes, I know that I'm over-thinking and perhaps even over-fretting this. So be it.

All I see is a little box so I'm gonna assume it's a smiley face or a love heart...

That's a lot of attention being unleashed upon @@OKCPirate there @@WLSResources/ClothingExch

Do you think maybe that's because you loooove him?

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Loversssss

[Nb: Fasten your seatbelts, kids, This is where you'll really understand that I don't get the multiquote feature.]

@@KindaFamiliar, Do you think maybe you say so because you're a tad jealous? 'Twas you, y'know, who claimed that "chicks dig" you. And that you get away with a lot because of it? Ptish.

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh....Sour grapessssss.(that is your hissing at the end).

Disobedience? Did I walk into some sort of dominatrix thing?

Only if you're wearing shoes appropriate to the occasion.

"Walk this way, la la la......"

Thanks, I'll pass.

KindaFamiliar, I see that you slipped in here. You took part in that topic, yes? If you value your life, do not tell me what the word means. ....

Wait, huh??? Is that some weird threat??

Uh-oh, if it is weird, language failed me. I was aiming for straightforward.

Jealous?

Me?

It's possible.

Unlikely...

But possible...

I mean, @@OKCPirate is a very attractive man...

But I can't compete with your charm and wit...

Plus, I'm not in that way inclined..

Therefore, he's all yours...

I don't blame you.

Are you really only one pound from your goal? Congratulations. That's your personal goal rather than the one your surgeon stated at the outset?

Line 1: Knave, you're angling for something. My trust fund and diamonds, opals, too, considering your location, are well guarded.

Lines 2 and 3: You know that's not what I meant.

Feel better now? You got equal time.

I'm just a host here, but I'm fairly certain that threats are a direct violation of our rules and regulations. I'd rethink that behavior if I were you. ;)

No need to guard your belongings. Such things are of little interest to me

Yes, I feel much better now
