Hello all, I am in a bit of a pickle. I am looking for an accurate, consistent, and reliable digital bathroom scale. My weight now is 265 lbs., so i don't need an extremely high capacity scale. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We shop at BedBathAndBeyond, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and your typical mall shops [although i dread going to the mall and being the guy walking around carrying my wife's bags...LOL =-) Sincerely with Thanks, Kev

Anyone out there work out to the Biggest Loser DVD's? I borrowed the Biggest Loser Workout DVD part 1 from a friend of mine and I absolutely love it. I've never sweated so much during a workout in my life! Just was wondering what other people thought of it and are there any others they recommend? I also do taebo, P90 and during the winter Walk Away the Pounds.

The director general was to be assisted by a deputy director, general and four directors in charge of administration, publicity, planning and development, and travel relations. I joined a Slim and Trim this morning. She said it was just like curves but she has extra workout equiment. It's only 5 minutes from where I work. Cost $27 a month and 4 free visits in the tanning bed. I have never been in a gym or fitness center or t. bed. But I broke free and went today. I really enjoyed it. My parents always said that exercise was for lazy people. Good honest productive hard work everyday and you didn't have to waste your time jumping around.:lol0::lol0::lol0: I just won't tell them. My massage therapist at the Chiro office suggested that I take the class with her as she wants to begin. Maybe she thinks I could use a few subtle moves to defend myself from her "blows" as she does her deep tissue work LOL How can you love someone that pushes you to yell uncle? .... She is great and I pay her to torture me! She says she has a great job... she can torture, we beg for more we pay her and we never retaliate what more could she want. She is so funny. 10. Anyone here planning to run in the Chevron marathon or Aramco half-marathon next January? A group of us at work are planning to sign up next week for the half-marathon and are starting to train...two of us are banded and two are not. If anyone has experience with half-marathons, is 6 months enough to train for one? We're talking about 4 people who do NOT run, but occasionally exercise. Just wondering if any other bandsters are out there planning to run in the marathon & willing to "mentor" us or even help us train? THANKS!!

Does anyone else do DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for exercise? It's on the playstation video game console, and it's really fun, and depending on the difficulty, it really gets your heart pumping! I find it fun, and I was just wondering if anyone does this for exercise as well.

  12. I hate to exercise because I don't like to sweat but I took the advise of some of you here and started to do an exercise I like that didn't seem like exercise. I started to walk. Not fast mind you but I have been able to trim off the pounds 1-2 at a time doing this. Now, I go to my surgeon tomorrow to get my surg date and I want to know barring any complications how soon I might get back to my walking routine. What did some of you do and how soon after surg did you get started? I'm getting more excited by the day!!! A bit scared too

I have been wogging off and on using the c25k model and I'm wondering if I have the right shoes? I have a high arch and under-pronate. According to the websites I've been looking at, under-pronating shoe support is for lower (regular) arches, and don't offer that much weight support. Will a motion prevention shoe that offers weight support do something funky to the arches?

Ok, it's time to pat myself on the back. Six months ago, I was able to jog 30 seconds non-stop, yesterday I was able to complete a nonstop 5k in about 30 minutes. I know a lot of people run further, but this was a big goal of mine and I have achieved it! It's SO awesome to be at the gym running 30 minutes straight with a skinny preppy chick on the tredamill next to me panting and wheezing because she is thinking to herself, "If the fat(ish) girl can do it, why can't I?" I just signed up for the Houston full marathon in January 2010 and the San Antonio half marathon in November 2009! Are there any other long distance runners in the Houston area (Galleria) that would like to meet up and have a running buddy? I am pretty slow, around 12 minute miles or so.

Another one of my articles I finished up ----------------------- We all know about the benefits of exercise. Not only does it does wonderful things for our appearance, but also has several health advantages: 1. Exercise can keep LDL (“bad cholesterol”) levels low (less than 100 mg/dL is optimum). 2. Exercise helps control high blood pressure, along with a healthy diet and proper medications. 3. The heart and lungs are strengthened with regular exercise, in addition to keeping the muscles and joints flexible, allowing them to move with ease. 4. Exercise releases oxygen to the brain as well as increases serotonin levels, which has been described by some as “…

I changed jobs and didn't have the luxury of spending 3 hrs a day in the gym and got out of the habit. I have gained back half of that weight. Last week, I made it to the gym on three mornings. My goal this week is to make it 5x. I have to do something to get my body to lose weight as my insulin needs are just causing me to resist burning calories and I am tired of the continued pains and medical issues creeping up on me as I age. Hi All, This is my first post here. I haven't been banded but have decided I want to. Unfortunately this is the first time in my 24 years of existence I haven't had insurance. I was laid off last year. I wanted to know how you all maintain the energy to exercise. I can usually exercise for two weeks and sometimes up to three months but sooner or later I just do not have enough energy to make it. I usually work out 3-5 times a week walking around 3mi a day in about an hr. Does anyone else experience this? Is this normal? I always here you are supposed to get to a point where you can do more but I just never seem to get there.

I hope it doesnt matter if at first I break up the recommended 60 min into 2 separate sesions, I dont get bored with it so fast and the time goes by quickly and seems to fit into my schedule better. Do I like exercising more now?,,,,uh NO. Will I continue, well lets hope and pray. I DO want this to become a habit that I dont mind doing and hope it makes the scale move downward faster. Step one to a new lifestyle. It seems there is always the latest frenzy of diets. Brand name diets come and go as quickly as Octomom is having babies. Then there are the “Extreme” diets. I would say over 95% of diets out there work. I do question ones health on extreme diets that advertiser losing 7-10 pounds per week; when a healthy weight loss should be no more than 2-3 pounds a week. The problem with the word “DIET” is that you can't stay on them forever. One could end up with serious health issues staying on an “Extreme” diet over the recommended length of time. Forget the diets, forget the calorie counting unless you're a professional athlete.…

  31. Several years ago when I had previously lost 55 lbs (with south beach) I was training to walk a 1/2 marathon. Now I want to walk a marathon. I think I can handle the distance - been doing a long walk once a week and I'm up to 12.2 miles and the marathon isn't until October. I'm just not sure I can keep a 14 minute pace which is required or they kick you onto the 1/2 marathon course - which is ok and at the least I'll do the 1/2 - but I really want to finish the full marathon. So, is there anyone out there who has completed one or is thinking about it? Could use some advise.

I cut her off right there. Anyone else have a hard time with this? I know my limitations and will stop if I am tired. I'd love to hear some tips Thanks!

I have lost 27 pounds since surgery, but have decided to start exercising. I read all these posts and think that I'm not doing enough. I'm 278 pounds and have not worked out in over 3 years. Right now my plan is to do cardio for 30 min 3x a week. Then the other 3 days I will do 20 min of cardio plus weights and crunches. This leaves me with one day off. Should I do more? I read all your posts about running and stuff and I just don't know if I could do that. What do you think?
