I have been shedding pounds like crazy. I hit 63 pounds lost last week. Almost 1 to 2 pounds per day. I am 8 weeks out of surgery. I have been working out for some time now, but the last 3 weeks have been doing it about 6 times a week. I run on the treadmill for 35 mins and hit the weights. Working out is becoming an obsession, but I havent lost anything in about 7 days. However shirts are fitting me better than just a week ago and I am ready to move a pants size. I am confused. Will I level off, then drop some, then level off, then drop some???

I bought a little pouch to add to my shoe laces so I can use the Nike + iPod sensor to track my walks. I wanted some of the Nike+ shoes, but couldnt find a good fit. How has everyone else been doing with their Nike+ walks? I did a quick search and didnt really find anyone speaking directly to this gear.

I really liked the way the Sketchers felt when I tried them on, great arch support. The price was a little high and the style I wanted wasn't in my size. I went to Zappos.com to buy the pair I wanted and started reading the testimonials and a couple people recommended the MBT, and their shoes have great ratings. Does anybody own either? They are both pricey, especially the MBT, but I have plantar fasciitis, so I usually buy Danskos, you know how expensive those are.

Well, it's been awhile since I have been on here but I really need some help or advice from some of you that have already been through this. I was banded in August of 2008. I have lost about 60 pounds, not as much as I would like to have lost BUT I am 60 pounds:Dancing_wub: better off than I was this time a year ago. I have lost weight in the past ( 100 pounds) and when I lost it it seemed to come off equally all over my body BUT this time my belly fat is hanging on for dear life! I walk and do crunches and lift some light weights, what can I do that will help BURN OFF this BELLY FAT? My belly is making me crazy!!!!!

I was banded 3 days ago, Monday Aug.31, 2009. I started walking for exercise 4 months ago and would swim afterwards to cool down. I went walking last night but not the usual 45 min, only about 20 min., was afraid to get in the pool because of the incisions. They are super-glued, but just not sure. Does anyone know how long before I can swim?

I went out and bought Wii Active today, and love it. I haven't worked out in about 8 months, and I really wanted to give this a whirl. Least to say, I am impressed. I just did the easy 20 minute cardio work out, and broke a sweat. It felt good even with my ankles and knees popping like crazy. I know I'll hurt tomorrow, but I plan on doing this 3-5 times per week. . .

This morning I attended my first jazzercise class in over 14 months. I didn't (couldn't) do any of the routines full out, but I worked up a great sweat and had some heavy breathing going on. I then went out for lunch and had some scrambled eggs, on the way home I laid the seat back some and just felt so exhausted. I even sat in the car when we first got home because I was so tired. I used to jazzercise and dance 4-6 times per week and remember I always felt so energized. Even had some trouble falling asleep if I had taken a couple of weeks off because my body would feel so energized and was not used to it. So I guess my question is, is the tiredness a normal thin…

Hi, I just had a small fill yesterday, after two weeks of being completely unfilled (was too tight!). Tonight I went to Bikram Yoga, and after the practice I was feeling really woozy. Now, I often feel a bit lightheaded right after class, but this lasted 15 minutes or more, and then I felt really nauseated. Finally, I just had to throw up. There was only Water in my stomach, but I was really heaving! This has never happened to me after a yoga practice before. I'm wondering if it has something to do with just having a fill, because there is some intense abdominal compression in several postures. Any thoughts? Anyone else experienced nausea/vomiting right after fills…

Hello Everyone! I have recently been doing a lot of walking, and I would like to start trying some jogging/running. I think it would be so motivating to have a dedicated exerciser to meet up with to help force me to be accountable. Anyone interested? If you want to find exercise buddies, please post your location, available times, and give an idea of your fitness level and preferred duration of exercise. This way people can contact other people on here who they want to meet up with. Hope to hear from some people soon! Location: Philadelphia, PA Times: around 8 am or 4 pm (I'm a student with a varied schedule, but I will make it a priority to find a consist…

Hi everyone, I have had good success with my band but need to lose 30 more pounds. I know I am really out of shape because I don't exercise and I sit at a desk all day. Thinking I need to start walking to get my metabolism going. For you walkers or those of you who remember starting a walking routine, what do you recommend? Should I try walking as long as I can 2 or 3 days a week or maybe shorter distances every day? I need to break the couch potato cycle. FYI I do have OA in both knees. I have had the knee clean out surgery and don't have pain right now. Thanks!

After losing 65 pounds i have now gotten to the point where i can start running again. I started my running program on Sunday. Since i have started running i have noticed that i am not able to eat or drink anything without throwing up. Has anyone else had this problem? Has my band shifted? Idon't want to give up the running as this is what gets me in shape.... but i also do not want to spend all my time hunched over the toilet. Any one who has had eperience with this i would appreciate hearing from! Thanks! Rhonda

I started walking on Sunday... decided it was time to add some cardio (plus the weight loss has slowed and I need to get it moving again) Anyway- it was BEAUTIFUL here- and wanted to get out of the house- so I dusted off my sneakys and off I went. when I got done I got in the car and drove what i walked to see how far I went... it ended up being EXACTLY 2 miles. And it took me 40 minutes. I didn't walk too fast and I didn't walk too slow, but enough to work up a little sweat. Did it in the same amout of time yesterday. My question is... am I doing it right?? LOL Is it too long a time to walk that distance? I was a bit worried about my knee, bu…

I've started taking body pump and body combat classes at my gym and many of the exercises involve running, scissor movements, and jumping. I'm having alot of trouble doing these movements because the jiggling of my tummy. I have alot of loose skin and the constant bouncing makes me uncomfortable in more ways than one. Any suggestions on how to reign in this area so I can jump and run without so much discomfort? Thanks!!!

I started at my heavest at 295 in December 2008 wearing 22, and still squeezing into some 20's. Now I am down to 218, some 20's are big, some just right, some 18 just right, some still too tight by a good couple inches. I know sizes differ, but I thought I would be in solid 18's going on 16's by now. So my question is, my boobs are shrinking, my legs, my feet, my face, but not my stomach. The 18's that don't fit are baggy on my legs, but can't button. And these are pants I used to wear! My question to those fitness people, do I need more stomach exercises? I care more about the clothes getting bigger than the scale getting smaller. Advice please!

I know this probably sounds stupid, but does anyone else fear going to the gym? Everytime I go there I feel like people are looking at me. I'm sure they aren't but I'm so self conscious. I've been only a few time since being banded. The treadmill is good but I feel like it's not enough. I've heard people saying they love the elliptical but I'm scared I'll look like a fool bouncing around. I guess I need to just suck it up and go to the gym. If people look they look and maybe when they're looking they're thinking, "wow, good for him for trying to get healthy." I can hope!

Hello, I tried posting this question in the general discussion yesterday, but I guess I should have posted it here. So I am re-posting in case anyone who has experience didn't see it yesterday. Thanks for your help. Does anyone have a good idea of about how many calories you can burn in an hour on the elliptical? I know the machines tend to overestimate by a lot...I don't have a pulse rate monitor. Also, I use the one where you don't move your arms. If the machine says 750 calories in 60 minutes of intervals, do you guys think I can safely count 500 calories burned?

After a week of working out 30 min a day on my brand new elliptical trainer, the weather decided to thwart me. We've had three days of 90+ degrees and another on the way with all sorts of air quality warnings and such. As I don't have AC, I am certainly not getting on the elliptical. I feel bad for not exercising, but I c.an't really do anything in this heat. I am afraid this break is going to make it difficult to get back into exercising again. And I am afraid of how not working out for a week as I make the transition to mushees is going to affect my weight. I know I am being silly, but hey... So anyway, what do you all do when it is too hot to breathe let alone ex…

My daughter, who is 16 and quite thin, jumps on her trampoline every single day. Sometimes she does it for an hour at a time and other times she goes out there a few times a day for 20 minutes or so. She really enjoys it. She pops her I-Pod on and uses it as her "alone time". I tried doing it, and boy it's a lot harder than it looks. I haven't checked for sure, but I'm certain it must be a good form of exercise. Anyone use it?

Okay...so there has to be some really great exercises out there for getting rid of my "spare tire". It's already gone down a bit by losing a little weight and I know it will continue but I want to work on that troublesome spot so the skin doesn't stay loose. Any ideas? I've had two babies, one was a c=section and that's where my roll is, right above my incision of the c section. I know there's the good ol' crunches and sit ups but I'm looking for any other ideas to swap up with. Thanks for any input!:w00t:

I just got released to start doing more than walking. Just like everyone else, I want to see results. I know that cardio is a big part to loosing weight, and I not a big fan of it to be honest. Anyways, with all you runners/walkers did you see results after a month? From doing hard intensity workouts, have you noticed your skin firming up and staying tight or is it loose from all the weight you have lost? I am trying to figure out a way to try not to get a tummy tuck, if I can take care of my skin while loosing. HELP!

Hello. I would like to start exercising and my preferred method would be walking. I have a treadmill that currently is not being used. I would like to change that and the only way I can get motivated, is to have a partner or two or three..... I would like to start a 50 Mile Challenge from July 1st to August 1st. If you are interested let me know. We will start Wednesday, July 1st and end Saturday, August 1st then maybe start over again. We can have weekly check in every Wednesday to log our miles walked and, or exercised. I know there are many of you that can easily walk 50 miles or more. I am not one of them yet. Hopefully I will be soon.

On a side note to my post about Nike+, My wife and I have been getting our sneakers at Sports Authority, we bought our nikes for like $100 bucks each, and then they sold us this "warranty" for $10 bucks.... whenever we bring our sneakers back to "trade up", we only have to pay the $10 bucks again for another warranty! Its great... I am on my 3rd pair of new sneakers in 5 months and still reusing my original $100 bucks. It's no scam, I have had zero problems during the returns. The warranty is supposed to be good for like 12 or 13 months from date of purchase. I don't know if you can do this online, as we have purchased ours at the store itself. This is really good if y…
