Anyone Jump On The Trampoline?

Recommended Posts

My daughter, who is 16 and quite thin, jumps on her trampoline every single day. Sometimes she does it for an hour at a time and other times she goes out there a few times a day for 20 minutes or so. She really enjoys it. She pops her I-Pod on and uses it as her "alone time".

I tried doing it, and boy it's a lot harder than it looks. I haven't checked for sure, but I'm certain it must be a good form of exercise. Anyone use it?

If our trampoline wasnt half wrecked with the springs all broken through the mat, I would, for sure. Its a great workout, I've jumped on it before, but we only have a small one, 80kg max (170lb or so) and I was too heavy. Now its too broken, lol.

We're getting a new one soon, and I will be jumping on it.

And in all seriousness - its GREAT for strengthening your pelvic floor. I escaped 3 babies in pretty good shape but trampolinining is challenging, lol.

If you get on and jump, do a few seat drops and twists you'll realise just how much core strength you've lost since your teens too. Its a fantastic workout and I plan on hopping on our new one. Your heart rate shoots through the roof too!

Can a person jump on a trampoline when it's cold outside? I mean, does the jumping surface get brittle in the cold? Just wondering since we're just getting into winter here, and I would LOVE to get a trampoline....

I would, but my boobs would fly up, hit me in the face, and knock my teeth out.

(Sorry, this is probably one of those posts some people complain about where the poster has nothing constructive to add to the topic but posts anyway. However, it was painful just thinking about trampoline jumping.)

Too funny about the boobs. Mine don't pose a problem.

You can jump on them cold or not. We live in KY, and it gets pretty cold. My daughter has been known to push the snow off and jump. - Yes - she's addicted.

I just started this week. I had been jogging but it is just too cold. I figure that this would keep me in shape so I will not lose my progress. I watch tv while I do it and it makes it a little more interesting. What are you doing on it, besides just jumping up and down?

Ha  This had me in stiches! I work for a mortuary and embalmers sew boobs together and I told them I wanted mine duct taped instead of sewn. Totally off subject here, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this. Good one! On subject, my brother swears by the rebounder (mini trampoline)

This is an old thread now, but I'm reporting in to say we did get a new mat and springs for our trampoline and I did jump on it.

its a great cardiovascular workout.

but unfortunately, I made myself rather sick - motion sickness would you believe! I felt REALLY ill for about an hour.

Since being banded, I get seasick, car sick, I cant go on rides, swings make me feel ill (always did) and now I cant jump on the trampoline either.

But as I just reported in another thread, I am VERY impressed by what running has done for my pelvic floor! Pre weight loss, i coudlnt jump on a trampoline without bladder issues, the only time I suffered them. Now its no problem.

Thanks for the idea of duct tape. I was gonna try ACE bandages. tee hee! You guys are hilarious. GRITS (girls raised in the south) used duct tape for EVERYTHING. Now I can add one to my list.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
