I have had my band since Dec 2012 and I love it. But since about Aug 2013 I slim more then I think I should. I don’t want to tell my doctor because I am embarrassed by it. I don’t think I’m too tight I just think I haven’t found the correct way to eat. I need to know what to do or if any one else has had this issue what they did.

Hey guys. I'm a licensed massage therapist to be banded in May (on Cinco De Mayo! Vodka is a clear liquid right? Jk). My job is, as you might expect, very physical. I'm fortunate where I'm in a good place to take several weeks off, but I'm curious if anyone else here does physical work and how fast your recovery was? If you have a desk job, how long was it until you could do (gentle) core exercises?

I'm going through some severe non-band related medical problems that have my anxiety levels absolutely through the moon. This is the first time I've ever not had the urge to turn to food AT ALL when I was stressed out, that alone is crazy enough. That being said, I'm having trouble even forcing myself to drink or eat the last two days. It's a blend of mentally having no appetite and physically my band being tighter than normal from the stress. Yesterday I got down a Protein shake in the morning, three chicken nuggets from Wendy's at lunch time, and then about five bites of an omelet at dinner time. Today I've been able to sip some Water, and ate a Protein Bar broken up …

  11. I know. Weird question. After decades of being able to out-eat my husband (9" taller and does manual labor for a living), I should count my lucky stars that I can't eat much nowadays. And I've been at the WLS game for 6-1/2 years now, so you'd think I'd be used it by now. In the final 18 months or so of my happy coexistence with my band, I realized that I just didn't care about food all that much. It was wonderful to be freed from slavery to my appetite. Since losing my band, and after living with my sleeve for 1-1/2 years, I now find myself very often feeling disappointed that I can't eat much at a meal. I love to cook, and the food looks and smells and tastes wonderfu…

Hi, I had my lapband placed in Mexico (Sanoviv) about 10 years ago. I think it was a 10cc band. I went from 180 lbs to 133 (lowest). My standard weight is about 142. I'm 5'5" tall. My last fill was 3.9cc's. I was waking up at night basically drowning in my own saliva. I couldn't keep anything down and I developed walking pneumonia. In addition I started having I having esophageal spasms which feels like you are having a heart attack. I had to have the band unfilled just to get healthy. But- with no restrictions I gained 15 lbs in 4 weeks. I went back yesterday and had 3.6 cc's put back in. But I'm not restricted at all. 3.9 was way too much. 3.6 is not enough so now I ne…

I know part of it is eating too big of a bite, but it really happens without me thinking; Esp. for my evening meal. But I also struggle with eating too fast esp. during my evening meal as well. But I have managed to get stuck several times since my fill last Wednesday. I don't want to go back and have Fluid taken out until I know that I am just too tight. Hi, I don't have a lap band, but I have a new co-worker who does. I'm a little concerned about her...she's had the lap band for 4 years now and she vomits at least 6-7 times a day. Is that normal? I'm worried that she may be bulimic. Also, I understand that you're supposed to be on a special diet and she eats cheetos, crunch n' munch, pringles, soda, micorwave burritos...that's not healthy even without the surgery. I guess I'm just looking for a little insight from people who have had this surgery. Any help would be greatly appreicated. Thanks!

I can drink and eat with no problem but after 4 bites I was done! I know I could be swollen and it might loosen up ... But for those in green is that sensation that I don't want anymore going to stay??? Not a full sensation.. Just a sensation that I don't need anymore! Hoping for green!!!!

Be in onesies by the time I turn 50. At the end if January that would have been 30 pounds. Thought this should be doable-3 months no problem. But watch out I have only lost 7 since then. Ugh. Y y y y y. I eat 3 meals a day, walk over 12500 steps a day according to my fitbit but I can't lose. I had my 2nd fill today for a total of 5.5-6cc (dr said somewhere in between) I know I'm probably still a little swollen (that happens after a fill right?) but I am just curious what I would be looking for as far as being in the green. I assume it'll happen soonish since I'm a bit more than 1/2 way filled. Also, if you can please share what you are filled at (not that it truly matters since everyone is different, just curious). Didn't she know I would rather have my eyes closed then be in the bright lights of the bathroom mirror that just make everything seem garish?! OK so on the way to the kitchen to feed the cat who is now under my feet and giving me the so far silent meow that will turn into an all out annoyingly screaming meow if I don't …

Hi All, Happy Holidays. I won't go into all the details, but after a long hiatus I went back to the weight loss clinic and had .5 added to my band. I thought I would feel more restriction. This is getting me worried. I've been away from the board for a long time, so I'm not sure as to how far they will fill? Can I expect to get filled up to 4 cc in my 4 cc band, and then what? Where do I go from there if my weight loss continues to stall? I have gained 30 lbs. after a 3 year hiatus. I'm getting back on track, but now I'm worried.

I got a discount coupon from Aerosoles for 20% off so I figured I'd see what they have for spring. I don't really need any new shoes since I bought several pairs last spring when I went from an 8 1/2-9 wide to an 8 regular. I did notice though, that some of my flats are a little big...it's been getting a little warmer here in NY and I've been transitioning back out of my heavier winter shoes. I though maybe I stretched them out a little and figured, no big deal...my feet tend to swell in the warmer weather anyway. So, I went shopping yesterday afternoon and tried on a few pairs of new styles in size 8. Well...they still felt too big, and I asked for the 7 1/2 just…

February 12, 2011 my band "slipped" when I tried to eat and I instantly threw up. I knew instantly something was very wrong with my band as the pain was so severe I couldn't walk. I was writhing in pain. 10 out of 10 pain... I had never experienced pain like that before. Ambulance took me to the ER. Dr's ordered a plain X-ray as well as a CT scan. Same radiologist read both scans and reported that there were NO abnormalities. In the X-ray my band was at the base of my stomach.... my stomac…

  50. I was banded in August of 2005 weighing 310 lbs. I lost a total of 45 lbs with the band before I plateaued, mainly because I did not modify my eating behavior and deal with the emotional issues in my past that caused my obesity. Well, about 6 months ago, I starting vomiting after EVERY meal, which caused severe acid reflux, an ulcer in my esophagus and two hospital stays in 2 weeks for chest pains and shoulder pains that mimicked a heart attack. After taking a stress test, having a CT Scan done, and a Cardiac Cath done on my heart, it was determined that the band was the culprit. So, yesterday (3-20-14), I had the band removed and my insurance company deemed it as medi…
