Fyi, Miracle Noodles are gluten, carb, calorie free and have the texture of a rice noodle, but fill you up if anyone misses pasta or ramen etc. They take on the flavor of the sauce you put on it or broth. I ordered mine online. Hope this helps someone.

Has anybody had this happen or am I just crazy. For the last four days I have had trouble eating and keeping food down, but the temp have been anywhere from 1 to 20 degrees. Today the temp is 38 degrees and I haven't had one stuck episode today, except for a little sliming this morning when it was still in the teen's. Does the extreme cold weather affect your band?

I've been thinking about this a lot. And then, the other day, I bought a book called The Body Book, by Cameron Diaz. I know, I know. Cameron Diaz? Skinny, pretty, actress? But it is a really good book so far. Very easy to read. She breaks nutrition and food down into simple, easy to understand categories. Explaining how your body uses food and the types of things you should be looking for in the foods you eat. And why you should avoid processed, junky foods. It really makes you think about the quality of the fuel you are eating every day. How, when you feel tired and cranky, that so much of that is cased by poor food choices. I know a lot of what she's said (even if…

Hi Guys! I was banded in November of 2011, I had lost a total of 130 pounds before I began to have complications. Last October, I spent my honeymoon in Dominican Republic, I got very sick while on my trip and was non stop throwing up. When I came back to the states I began to have complications, acid reflux, throwing up in my sleep, stuck all of the time. I ended up in the emergency room in November and was completely unfilled. When I had an upper GI, they could see that my band had slipped and I had the pouch over the band (Forgot the medical term). The past four months have been crazy for me and I had been unable to have a follow up until today. Once again the Upper G…

  8. Okay so according to the scale this morning I'm 2.7 away from my first short term goal of -25 lbs. I have been stuck in the 230s for what feels like forever! Yesterday I saw 231.0 but it was midday and I had already eaten. Today I just woke up and haven't eaten yet... I weighed at 227.6! Awesome! And yes I weigh almost every day... Don't judge, you know you do it too! It helps me keep on track. Anyways... I think it's lying to me! I haven't seen this weight since pre-pregnancy with my angel which was 2 years ago! Idk

  9. I was banded in CR 6 weeks ago. My plan was to get fills at the Fill Center USA location near the Twin Cities (Minnesota), but sometime after I scheduled my surgery and before I got home from CR, the location closed! The nearest Fill Center USA is about 900 miles away. I'm desperate to find a place in Minnesota. I tried calling Dr. Baker because the Lap Band site listed him as accepting outside patients, but his office never got back to me. If there isn't anywhere in MN, I'm willing to fly to Milwaukee or Chicago (metro areas) because airfare isn't too expensive. Please, please, please help.

  10. Hi all. I got my first band in 2005, and reached goal weight within 12 months. My band was an original J &J, and had 5 ml capacity... And basically, I had restriction from day 1. Fast forward 7 years... I woke up and realised I had no restriction. No pain, just no restriction and felt hunger... Something I'd forgotten! And I fed that sucker. went to the doctor who refilled... Back again a week later. Tried again. Various X-rays, barium X-rays, gastroscopy, a port replacement and then, finally... 12 months later, a new band. 5 months in and I'm losing weight, but this band is so different. Im down about 44 lbs, but I'm suffering reflux and have only a small fill.…

I still see posts from people who love to say "the lap band didn't fail you...you failed the lap band" to some forum members unable to lose with the band. I'm here to tell you they are wrong. What most bariatric surgeons don't tell you is that the lap band DOES fail in some cases. My own surgeon didn't tell me this little fact until I went to have mine removed and only then did he tell me there are a small number of people who *never* get the appetite suppressant effect from the band no matter how tight it is. My band was put in just before Thanksgiving 2009. Over the next year and a half my doctor and I struggled to find a point where I'd get the appetite suppressi…

But getting back to to 'best present ever' I believe that the band was the best thing I've ever done. Sometimes I regret getting it but that's only because I can't eat starters, main and dessert. But then I realize I don't even need all of that food. Its amazing how we can survive on so little. Every time I see an obese persone I just want to hand them my d…

Hi... I was banded in April of 2012. I gained some weight over the holidays and back being out (about 15 lbs). However, I can still feel restricted, get stuck and can pb. So I don't necessarily need to be tightened but was wondering that if I stretched out my pouch, can i shrink it back up but going back on an extra strict diet like the pre-op liquid diet and Protein shakes for a while? Does anyone has any advice or input on this? A little concerned as I will never go completely back to where I was and am discouraged on the weight I've gained. Thanks

So this maybe a silly question, but do most bandsters have some liquid taken out after they've met their weight goal?? Because it would seem that if you continuously loosing weight, it would keep going and going past your goal and past healthy weight, and then you would become underweight and maybe even sickly... But if you do have some fluid take out so you can maintain instead of lose, do people tend to gain weight back? Or maybe that's how you know too much has been taken out and then you would get a slight fill again?? I'm not at my goal yet...another 30-40lbs to go, but I was just wondering what the future holds for me. Thank you

The last couple of months I have been experiencing some back pain. I don't know if its because I'm carrying a lot of extra weight up front (boobs and belly skin) or if I'm over doing the exercise. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought losing weight would help any pains you were having? Any suggestions?>

  26. Hello i am trying to find a dr that does fills as i have moved down from cairns, was having major issues with my band throwing everything up hated my band so much, went to see a dr in boronia and he checked my band and said in my 7 mil band the dr in cairns actually put in 7 mil so no wonder i was throwing everything up and my body was in starvation mode for a long time . So i had all my fill removed and let my stomach settle but now i am putting on weight again and before it gets out of control i would like to have the right amount of fill put in and finally get rid of this weight So anyone know of a good dr that does fills around the point cook / weeribee area ?

I know this sounds like a silly question but can someone describe the green zone for me? I'm thinking I may be there or at least close to being there but I'm not sure. I'm losing weight but I'm also watching every morsel of food that goes into my mouth because I'm terrified not to. My insurance required a 6 month supervised weight loss program and I went from that immediately into the liquid pre-op diet and then surgery and the post-op phase. During the post-op phase, I followed my physician's orders which advances the diet pretty quickly but I've also learned to watch what I eat rather than just eating whatever I want in smaller amounts. As a TLBCer, I've been told that I'm no longer being supported by Slimband nor are they going to provide treatment in the future, for fills, defills, etc. I was told that they were looking to refer us to another clinic. I sent an email to Slimband to request more information about this and in the past they have always been prompt with their responses but I have yet to hear back from them. I was getting the band so that I could remove it in six months and continue my downward spiral towards being wheelchair bound and likely suffering a premature death. So...when people talk about being in the right frame of mind to tackle this process and be successful, I was so not one of them. I was awfully cranky during the pre-op phase...and then sick and tired of the monotony of post-op liquids. Thinking about having to watch every little thing that went into my mouth was overwhel…

Yeah, so, it's not helping, and the reflux is worse now. I haven't hardly slept for two days because I can't lie flat without choking and aspirating bile. I can't eat without pain, it even hurts to drink. I'm going tomorrow at 1130 to have some Fluid taken out of my band. I just don't understand it. I had my last fill in December and I was fine until last week, so over two months. How the hell can the band get tighter on its own?! I'm frustrated to say the least.
