Does the green zone have a feel? Remember the feeling right after surgery; the swelling made me NOT have a appetite, do you have that same feeling of what I call pressure or tightness. As my third adjustment is near I'm hoping to know what may be in the near future.

It's been 6 mths how is every one doing??? I'm down 56 pounds not as much as I would have liked but I'm down and that's makes me happy!! I have stalled a little this month for the last 2-3 weeks I'm up a pound or two down a pound or two not sure why? Have I plateaued already? I still have 50-70 pounds more to lose so I figured it would be a while before that happened...I dont work out as much as I should but I try to a couple times a week for sure! I have had 3 or 4 fills I still need a small snack in between meals but I track daily on my fitness pal and only eat a max of 1200 calories a day even with snacks. The thing I struggle with the most still is getting stuck I s…

So I just got my unflavored Unjury protein in the mail... was so excited! Started adding it to shakes, yogurt, oatmeal, pudding, etc. It tastes pretty good... so I thought "score"...finally I will be able to get all my protein in without actually having to eat chunks of meat (I hate meat). However, second day into it, I noticed that I am getting very bloated, gassy, and uncomfortable around the lower abdomen. Is igt just me or has anyo ne experience this with protein powders? Thank you!

Curious if anyone else has terrible problems with gas? I don't mind the burping so much, but the tooting is driving me crazy! It is embarrassing and uncomfortable. I've been banded since the end of June, will this get any better? is it something I'm doing wrong? Help!

So let me start by saying that i am completely new to this. I am 23 years old with a 3 year old son. i am 5'0 weighing 198.3 with a bmi close to 39. Throughout my life ive always been the "chubby" kid. Throughout the years i didnt care of my looks/weight , until i got into highschool. I tried diet pills, injections, diet fads and exercised, but nothing seemed to work. I would lose 10 pounds but gain 15 2-3 days later. Its like i would look at a donut and gain 5 pounds, yes i said look. lol SMILE i am a very well reserved young lady, very laid back. I am very kind hearted, loving and very understanding. Honestly, on this forum i am looking for buddies that have gone throu…

Am going on a trip in about 3 &1/2 weeks and am having a hard time thinking of some foods that I can take on the airplane with me. My total trip will take almost 9 hours so I need to take something with me. I have thought that I could take some cheese sticks and nuts but does anyone have any other ideas for what I could take that will meet airline rules? Any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks

Well yesterday I had my second fill and they put in twice what they normally do on a second fill. But I seem to fill up very fast and stay full for several hours, Could it have really been just that easy?? I'm sure time will tell.

Crystal lite is like my go to with water but the third ingredient is aspartame....should I be drinking this since it has that in it even though that's what the doctor specifically says to drink because there's no sugar in it? I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed it in the list of ingredients or not.

I forgot to ask last time how many calories I should be eating now, I am 217 as of this morn and I'm eating around 900 to just under 1200 calories a day. Is this about right? Too much or too little? I've been walking but haven't started an exercise routine yet. I need to start but it's sooooo hard with 3 kids a full time job and full time school. I've been looking into quick workouts so I can squeeze them in.

I've had the band since 12/14 and have lost 81 lbs and have been pretty proud that I have been doing this without any fills. But this week I somehow have gone up 4lbs! So I think it may be time for a fill as I 'grazed' all day yesterday and when I added it up... To my shock it was 1600 calories!! I haven't had a day like that since I started. I always stay between 1000-1200 a day and have only drank a handful of times since I have been banded, but it just may be time. Was hoping my sheer will and exercise ( I run 3-5 miles 4 days a week) would have been enough. Truth be told 9 months in I am actually scared to get a fill- does it hurt?

Hey all! I've been on the forums for a long while now - AND I'm finally on the other side of the band! When I was approved I took the time to write out a long message on facebook for my friends to see - I knew there would be worries, and I didn't want to repeat the story multile times, so I put it all out there! I told them of how long I've considered the lap band (since 2009) and what I've had to go through to get it, how I searched every other outlet (checking thyroid, hormones, cortisol levels, cutting certain things from the diet, having a personal trainer, etc.) before settling on this one, I then told everyone how much I needed their support in this, how I needed …

Speaking with my surgeon last Friday we talked about organic vs whatever I find in the store. I let him I am unemployed now and pricey special foods for a family of 5 is just not in the budget. So he gave me website to checkout called greenpolkadot.com I not sure if there is a "the" in front or not....anyway, This site is awesome for those looking for great priced organic food. I am still looking at all the things they have, but I'm just not sure if organic is worth the trouble. I know, I know there are some on here that probably only eat organic..God bless, good job. I'm not knocking it, I'm curious about it. The commissary carries organic fruits and veggies, I may sta…

I was banded on Aug 6th and have done well with my weight loss (23 lb) and have not needed a fill..yet. I have noticed over the last week I am drinking more water but I am also hungrier than I was before. I am eating 1/2 cup per meal and feel full. I eat 3 times a day and eat high protein, low carb. I do not drink with meals and wait 30-60 min after eating to drink fluids. Is the water causing my food to slide through faster? Do I need a fill? Or is it a combination of both? What to do, what to do..

They are low carb and gluten free. There are lots of recipes and information on their website, too. http://www.health-bent.com/ I hope this is helpful! ~hiddn

Hello! I've posted hear several times before and I have also had 3 barium swallows, a CT scan, and x-rays of my stomach. They can't find anything. But my chief complaint is PAIN around the port area, ribs, and upper belly. It's just really painful between the port and band.(swollen). This flare up occurs every 2-4 months and then goes away just as it came. My Dr. said that it was a muscle that the port is stitched too. I believed that for 2 1/2 years but not any more. I now feel that something else is going on b/c the flare ups are getting worse. I have another appt. tomorrow with another Dr.for labs and to find out the next step. I've really tried to work with the ban…

So, the good news is I can no longer eat donuts! Yay! The bad news is, I really wanted that donut yesterday...but really, this is all about the good news, which is I can no longer eat donuts! Yay! So, I am a year in, have lost half of what I had hoped to by now, and only now am I feeling like my "tool" is working to potential. However, I am thrilled it is working at all and I certainly did not get this big in a year...the 30 pounds gone came on over the last 8 years! So, I will carry on and hopefully find more foods over the next few months that I can no longer get down!

Hi, I'm Abby. Wasn't exactly sure where to post this as didn't think it would be appropriate in newly banded for new bandsters that are learning like me. If anyone has any advice, please help! I know there are several topics on heartburn AFTER a patient has been too tight or has had fills but I haven't had anything in my band. My lapband surgery date was 9/13/13. I had the AP-L band with no Fluid placed in band. I did have hiatial hernia repair 3 x 4 CM. Today is my 14 day post op and I am having heartburn. I did not have heartburn at all the first week post op. I do not lay down after meals, so I know it is not related to that. I also have ONLY had Water to drink for f…

Hi everyone! I haven't been on this board in so long. I had my band almost a year now. I am very ashamed to say I only lost 20 lbs. I was doing great in the beginning. Long story short, I never really felt restriction. I felt like I could practically eat anything. Bread, chicken and even steak never gave me a problem. My biggest problem is the mental aspect. I eat at night for comfort. I know how bad that is. I really hope this fill will help me feel full sooner. I want to lose weight. I need too. I want to have my own success story one day! Thank you everyone for listening. I hope to be very active on here again )

LENGTH ALERT! (This has very detailed tips and tricks, so this is not a short post. Just a "heads up") People asked me a lot how I went from Slow Loser to getting to goal. I did better my second year of banding and when the weight came off - it really came off. This is something that worked for me, and I recommended to other Bandsters. Granted, these are tips that's not in any LapBand brochure or doctor's manual, and YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY - but if you already think of yourself as a Slow Loser like I was, then maybe you will be open to trying something to shake things up a bit. When I needed a weight-loss push, I didn't cut down on calories much (if I'd recently …

Had my lapband removed 3 months ago due to complications. I had my band for 7 years and did Achieve my gaol weight. 5 of those years everything went well, the last 2 years was a living hell. The last 2 years I found my band was so unpredictable, one day I could eat anything, the next day I could not eat at all. I had tests done and got very few answers from the out come. I had trouble getting answers, the few I did get were, "it has to come out I can do it Friday", "the band is not for everyone", "you made me work hard as the band had bond fast to the stomach". Before my lapband was removed my surgeon tried to sale me another one. While in hospital getting tests do…

I was banded 4 1/2 months ago. Since my consultation 8 months ago I have lost 52 lbs. that's great but for almost 2 months I have went up and down 5-8 lbs. I'm ready to get out of this rut and tighten up on what I need to be doing. I would love to lose 13 lbs by my birthday-1 month from today. At my current weight that really is not unrealistic. Overall I just want to be healthier and more committed to this life change and my birthday is good fuel for that. I would appreciate any helpful advice or encouraging words to help me stay committed this next month and ultimately for life. Thank you to anyone who will support me!!

I'm a horrible lap band patient in terms of yearly upper GIs and such.the band is a tool and I've had my ups and downs and right now I'm at my lowest. Tomorrow I have to get unfilled for my first upper gi in 4 years. Yes 4 years. I'm thinking of not getting filled back up again and just letting the band be. Is anyone not filled at all?.when i first got the band my surgeon even said some people never get filled. I've been all the way up to 10cc and now I'm at 4. I want too continue to work out at cross fit and see if i can Control my eating like i can now.

PLEASE HELP! I've noticed over the past few months that acid reflux is a daily occurrence for no apparent reason causing me to have a consistent coughing sensation. I vomit eating foods I've never had issues with in the past. Some soft foods struggle getting down. I feel discomfort in my chest and stomach and just feel yucky. Do any of these symptoms sound like that of a sipped band?

Hi allHopeing I can find some help. I just moved to Palm Springs earlier this year I had a complete unfill due to an illness and now im much better. Id like to get on track again and start getting regular adjustments but getting a doctor office to help you seems impossible. They find out you already have the band and you seem to be put at the bottom of the list.

Got up bright and early and went to the Doc's for my first fill today. I'm not at all squeamish around needles but the area around my port is still a bit tender so the thought of being stuck in that spot did give me pause. I shouldn't have been concerned. The Physician's Assistant let me know beforehand that the tenderness is muscular in nature and located a bit deeper and around the sides of the port. The port itself is just below the skin and the needle doesn't go near that tender part. She was 100% correct - a bit of a pinch was all that I felt and no problems. 4 cc's in. Since its the first fill, some of the liquid stays in the tube between the port and band so…

I am two weeks post-op and down about 20 pounds. I have about 35 pounds to go before I break into "ONE-derland". There are about 18 weeks left in this year. Is it realistic to set a goal to lose 35 pounds in that amount of time? I know the band should help you lose 1-2 pounds a week, providing you do your part and follow the rules, but if I set this goal for myself am I possibly setting myself up for disappointment? I am a big believer in setting attainable goals, and not over-reaching. But I don't know if this is attainable or if I should set a more realistic goal!!! Any thoughts??
