Looking for Space Coast Bandsters

Hi I'm looking for anyone in the Space Coast area from Titusville down to Melbourne who has had LBS. If so, when and who was your WLS? I am just starting the process and would enjoy reading or possibly even chatting with you about your experiences so far?

Thanks,

Gina

Hi, My name is Lisa and I was banded by Dr. Pachivat Kasemsap who is with Osler Medical in Melbourne. My surgery was on 4/2/09 at Wuesthoff in Melbourne. He is a wonderful kind, caring man with a great staff.

Welcome to the land of the band... I wish you all best in the world with your new life.

If there is ever a question, never hesitate to ask... We are all here to help.

Do any of you attend any type of support group locally?

Yes. There is a meeting tonight. But, we meet on the second Thursday of the Month, at the Melbourne Church of Christ. It's at 810 Hollywood Blvd. We meet at 7pm and all are welcome to attend...

Hope to see you there sometime.

Hope all is well with you and your band...

hi all ... I have been reading but not posting much. I was banded last Tuesday 4/7 by Domkowski (@ PBCH) ... the surgery took longer than expected (2-3 hrs ) and I had a tough time coming out of anesthesia & had nausea & dry heaving all night. I ended up spending the night in the hospital b/c of this. Not fun

At any rate, I am doing much better but I still have some soreness ... that punched-in-the-gut feel. Anyone else still have this almost a week out from surgery?

I have had 2 c-sections and several D&Cs so surgery is not new to me. I really thought I'd bounce back quicker than I seem to be. *sigh* I guess I just needed to whine about it.

Hi, I had LBS on March 24th at the Palm Bay Hospital, my doc was Dr Valardi I would be willing to share my story, though I still have a lot of questions about what the future holds for me.

Gina you should check with Dr Domkowski or Dr valardi at the Palm Bay Hospital that is where I had my surgery done on March 24. I didn't have to pay any consulataion fee. My insurance covered everything (tricare) retired military. I suggest you check out their seminar's they have, I was very comfortable with all the staff.

Hey Gina,

My name is Shay and I live in Satellite Beach (right on the space coast) and my husband and I both were banded on May 28, 2009 in Mexicali, Mexico and it was the best experience ever!!! It exceeded all of our expectations by far.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

My husband and I were both banded on May 28, 2009. Didn't have the dry heaves, but I had a problem with Naseau the first 2 days, it was extremely annoying. My husband didn't have this problem. We both had a lot of soreness for the first 2 weeks or so. I, too, thought the laproscopic surgery would be easy and quick recovery because I had 4 c-sections. So, the recovery was much longer than I expected and a lot of pain around the port area. It is also taking much longer for 1 of my incisions to heal.

I wanted to see if I could find out what type of meeting you have and a current schedule. Also, looks like you have had a lot of fills and close together. Can you give me more details and how that is going now that you have had 5 fills?

Dr. Domkowski is now on his own in Sebastian, Florida. Contact Riverside Surgical & Weight Loss Center for further info.

He does the lap band and the lap sleeve surgery. He also does fills for people who have been banded in other places.

There are also support groups:

Sebastian River Medical Center: every 4th Tuesday at 6p in the Dining Hall

Palm Bay Hospital: every 3rd Wednesday at 5:45p in the Private Dining Room in the new expansion
