Hi. I was banded 14/2/14. Wondering if there is anyone in the armadale area who wants to chat.

  2. I'm new to Carrollton and been struggling with gaining weight in the past few months. I'm looking for a support group in the DFW area where I can go and be inspired. I'm also looking for a food addicts group as well. Someone help please!

I wore this black T-shirt for St. Patrick's Day 2011 as my 3 Year Bandiversary – 3 years since lapband surgery and when I did the laundry and went to fold it and put it away for another season, it struck me how small it seemed to me compared to my Tshirt I had on in the fall of 2007 when my cousins from Germany came to visit. I got this blue Tshirt when Michelle and I went to Sanibel Island and ate at the Cheeburger Cheeburger where they have huge hamburgers that are so so good and I got a Tshirt that I thought was really cute and funny at the time… not that I thought being big myself was funny but just being defiant that I wanted to live life and be happy no matter my si…

Hey guys, Been a while since I visited. Time to kick it in gear again. I have a 14cc and have 10.5 in it. I have had the band for about 7 years and I am only down about 25 lbs. I originally lost 45 lbs, but have put some back on. My question is this: After my last fill, I started experiencing Water coming up while I am sleeping. My question is it possible for the pouch to have created a pocket that could hold food in it for longer than normal. I wonder if I am filling my pouch the way a septic system fills, and it has to be full for things to flow into my stomach? Does this make sense? The water issue is worse if I lay on my left side. I almost have to have my he…

So I noted a few topics on Hagerstown/Frederick areas but not really up to date. I just moved to Hagerstown about 3 months ago but have worked in the area (DC/NOVA) for the past 5 years. Looking for some sort of support be it a meeting or exercise buddy, etc. I was banded in March of 2009. Initially I went from 350 to 250 in the first year. I stayed pretty steady after that. Managed to get down to 210, annnnd somewhere in the past year I've popped on back up to 240. Not cool. I had my band checked via radiographs and a very slight fill about 6 months ago. Band is in fannnntastic shape. I'm at a point where I'm filled to a point where I can eat proper portions and st…

I gave birth to my 3rd child in January of 2012 and have been complacent ever since. During the pregnancy I had to have half of my fill removed and never had it replaced. During the pregnancy I gained 60 pounds and have managed to hold on to 35 of them, all this time later. I am a self pay and never really find the money or time to go get it filled again, which when I think about it have just been excuses. I am not proud to admit this but a family member who had VGS has surpassed me in her weightloss journey and jealousy has brought me back to the place I was before WLS. I am disgusted that her success has sparked so much jealousy in me. I am very proud of her and thor…

Hello everybody, A few years ago I was on cloud nine. I had lost almost 80 lbs and I was in the 100's for the first time since I started college. I was following all the rules, staying away from bread, rice, and Pasta during the week with one day of carbs. Then one day I was overfilled and starting having PB's. This led me to make a fatal mistake that I haven't been able to shake since; I ate a ice cream shake. It was a downhill slide from there. I had never been addicted to hard core sugar like candy, ice cream, and Desserts. After that one time I went on a ice cream binge. My favorite stop has been Sonic for their Sonic Reese's Blasts. That led to buying the gallon Sni…

Hello everyone, I just had my 2nd fill last thursday and I am not noticing any difference it terms of restriction. I am wondering if it could be a possibility that the nurse missed my port ? Could she just had injected me saline on my belly? I think about that because my co-worker had a fill with her and she missed her port, then had to pinch her again. I was given 1.5 cc so that makes my band at 5.5 CC filled and I just not filling full. I am losing weight because I stop myself and I am too scared i might stretch my pouch . I am able to eat everything, breads, Pasta, rice , meats etc.. I do chew well though and stay fuller much longer than I used to before I was ban…

I am so happy since having the surgery. I haven't had any fills save for the 3ccs put in at surgery and am losing slowly but well. I'm down 35 lbs and close to onederland! I can eat anything but the band controls the portions. Perhaps due to my new lease on life I met an amazing guy about two months ago. I think he may be a keeper and while I'm no where ready to tell him yet I think if this goes where I'm thinking it will I will have to eventually tell him. This makes me slightly nervous. After finding a leak in my tubing and having it replaced in April 25. I went to my doc yesterday. I had 4 cc in after surgery and felt no restriction so yesterday he added 2 more and then ended up taking .5 out because I had difficulty drinking my water before I left. Although I'm on liquids I definitely feel that I'm going to have restriction. I've been dealing with no restriction since August. So I hope this is what I've been waiting for. Hopefully I can get this weight off that I gained plus some! Yesterday was my 6 year bandiversary so I hope I'm back to being successful! Lets do this!

Got home and had my husband take me to my doctors after hours clinic and it is broke. Have to stay off it totally for 48 to 72 hours and then a boot for 6 to 8 weeks. Good thing I have people who live close to me that I work with and they a happy to let me hitch a ride. Bad news is I will not be working out any time soon. My husband has to work tomorrow so not sure how I am gonna make it. In so much pain!!!!

I had lap band surgery in August, 2010 and have lost about 60 lbs. I have had occasional spitting up which I understand is a side effect of this surgery. It happens most often the first meal of the day. I was on a 3 week cruise and lost 5 lbs. My doctor tells me this is one of the problems with the lap band. He had me have an upper G.I. to see if the lap band had moved, and it was still in the proper position but there was a small problem with slight esophogial issues. My boyfriend who had the roux n y surgery in November, 2013 has lost 65 lbs with no dumping and keeps urging me to get the same surgery. My surgeon has left the decision up to me because there is no …

  36. I had a hernia repaired during surgery and the doctor told me he didn't tighten me as much as usual. (he wanted everything to heal) On 5/7/14 I went for my first follow up and told them I was able to eat as usual so she checked and I had 3, so she filled me with 2 more for a total of 5. My band will hold up to 14. Now I don't get hungry as often BUT I am able to chew and swallow and eat like before surgery. I mean I only lost 2 pounds at my visit. Tonight I either ate too fast or too much. I'm still on mushies but have the ok to begin to add solids as I tolerate them. I had some refried Beans, salsa and under a tablespoon of shredded chicken. I haven't been getting my little soft-stop burp that has been my signal to stop eating. Afterwards I had some terrible shoulder pain that has since subsided. I'm miserable. It's been a couple of hours since I ate or drank anything. I'm nauseated, burping constantly and have wicked heartburn. I have a pain in my chest (not a sharp pain that I usually hear about with getting stuck, more like the type of pain that comes with severe heartburn) I can't even lie down to go to s…

The flight will be about 8 hours, the whole trip will be 9 days in Europe. I am concerned that stress plus the flight will make me tighter and I'll end up in the ER again. But I don't want to have an unfill if I can help it (I had a major unfill and it's been a hard time in trying to get back to the green zone). No one knows I have my band, and I would like to keep it that way. I am also concerned about meals while traveling. Any comments?
