Type 1 Diabetics

Hello All!
I'm new around here. Anyone have any experience with being a Type 1 Diabetic and having WLS? Looking for similar stories to mine. I have my first consult next week. TIA!

Well not really. I drank muscle milk which had either 9 carbs or the 100 calorie version that had 4 carbs. So definitely no spikes from that. I did lower my basel on my insulin pump. It definitely helped taking less insulin, but still had a few hypos. Drank orange juice for that. It was definitely tough, but well worth it.

Yeah, I was going to cut my basal by 40% and actually wear my dexcom. Thanks for the add! Did they try and talk you into the sleeve? or were they reluctant to do the band due to the diabetes? Seems like the diabetes is always throwing the curve when it comes to operations. Was your A1C in tiptop shape? Mine is def. not, working on though. If you have time, you can send me the response in a private message. =)
