this is my one last thread that i want to start, to make ABSOULUTELY POSITIVELY SURE that I want the sleeve, and not something else. there is one other technique that i'm interested in, but id like to hear from to veteran sleevers (or whoever really) to see if anyone ever wishes they'd gotten a different surgery. It's the DS that has peaked my interest.

I'm asking on this forum because we are of that age where old habits die hard. I sleep on my stomach. Always have. Does anyone else here have that habit and if so, how long after surgery did it take to be able to do it again?

I am currently 11 days post op. My surgery was on 03/08/2012 with Dr. Nicholson at Forest Park Medical Center. I don't know anyone that has had this procedure, and it would be great to know someone that has recently had the surgery and/or will be having it shortly.

OK, I must admit that have an obsession. I am constantly playing with this body mass index visualizer. It approximates body shape based on gender, age, height and weight. I am getting sleeved in 7 days and I am a Catholic. Does anyone know about taking communion after surgery? I was wondering if I can still take it and chew it up real good and swallow it, how long do I have to wait to take communion? Thanks for giving me any experiences you may have on this.

Decided to copy the June sleevers! Someone mentioned that we should have a master list of everyone who was sleeved in July just like the June sleevers. I'm about 5 weeks out, and since returning to work a week ago, I find my anxiety have skyrocketed. I find any situation where I'm in public very difficult, and have come to rely on my husband's presence to calm me down... I was a nervous person before, but didn't have the issues I'm having now.. has anyone else had these issues? I'd love some help... ~emily anne

Ok so we need to get around 64oz of water in a day.... can we consider water mixed with our protien as part of that requirement? What about the water used to make our broth? Or is this considered food only?

Anyone here hAd the sleeve done and has PCOS? Just wondering if the weight loss is slower and if any of your symptoms have been gone or bettered since surgery? Would love some input. I'm getting sleeved mon may 14th!

I am in Florida, had my surgery in September,2011. I have two horses and would like to meet other horsey people.

I thought I had posted here before, but now I can't find it. Anyway, today is my surgery day! My surgery isn't until this afternoon (3:30), so I'm trying to stay busy now! Thes crazy crazy eggs....i ate puree eggs for the last two weeks and loved them so much I could have had them every meal. today i ate what is essentally a scrambled egg...it was left over frittata from mothers day but it was baked scrambled eggs with a little cheese I had about 5 bites and got the worst pain in my chest and right where it goes into my stomach.. I did this about an hour ago and I still feel horrible. It hurts and just feels uncomfortable. I wonder if it makes a difference if they are hot or cold or scrambled or pureed. Hi Everyone! Introductions please!! A little bit about you, where you are at in your journey, etc! I am just now 2 months post op and feeling great! Down 44 pounds, which I just cannot believe! I was sleeved on 2/8/12 by Dr Gipson of Specialists in General Surgery through the Unity Bariatric Center in Fridley. The first 2 weeks were rough and I thought I had made the worst mistake of my life. Now I feel like I am pretty much back to normal. I can eat just about all foods at just a smaller amount. The date has been saved, but I am very concerned about Dr. Almanza now that I've done extra research tonight. Does anyone have any research about him and the clinic? There seem to be a lot of patients who went home with infections. Anyone?

My husband says it looks like things are really slowing down at work and he's afraid we might not be able to pay the monthly payments on the self-pay surgery like we'd planned, so I have to call tomorrow and cancel my appt w/ dr aceves. Well, my surgeon's office finally called today to schedule. I am currently scheduled for June 28th. It may be scheduled for earlier, but I doubt it. They said that the doctor isn't on call after the earlier possible date. He likes to be on call after revisions in case there are any problems. That makes a lot of sense to me. They said that if he isn't going out of town, they will give me the earlier date. I guess we shall see.

I was approved 5/7 and was just told that all I'm waiting for is to set up my actual preop visit, scope, and surgery date!!! I'm so excited!!!!!

Just wondering how neccessary it is to have extra skin removed? I realize I will have loose skin but I am hoping it won't be too bad. Also just wonder how tall everyone is. I think knowing heights and weight lost would help give me an idea on extra skin.

stop feeling where you had surgery? What I mean is..I "feel" an uncomfortable feeling in between the incision sites. Its not a sharp pain..just a dull pain..not horrible and if I push really hard where it hurts...rubbing the pain site..it usually with feel better instantly . When did you not notice that you had surgery? This may sound crazy but in my mind I see the staples rubbing place on the outside of my intestines! I know crazy.. Sent from my DROIDX using VST

Ok I was on youtube last night and I saw people with disgusting hanging skin after vsg. I don't think I realized this could happen to me. I knew that my belly might hang a little but actually seeing the extent it could go to made me feel like I should have thought twice before my surgery last month. SOOO, my question is, is there anybody out there who started around my weight 244 and does not have immense hanging skin? Or if you do... how bad is it? Any tips so I can avoid this? Because I'm 26 will I be ok? Pics and posts would really help.

Hi guys. I remember when I first became interested in having WLS, especially the sleeve since I had never heard of it before, the first place I went to was YouTube. Man..... oh man hundreds of videos on weight loss surgeries. People describing their weight loss victories and seeing them week after week shrinking before your eyes. I was sleeved 1/25/12 and have been doing great my surgery lasted an hour I was walking that same night and the next day I was wearing my own clothes having the nurses asking if I was a patient here.. LOL (I did have to stay on the ICU floor due to no room on the other floor).. I hit ONDERLAND in February then I was in a stall for 2.5 weeks.. My weight finally moved a lb and I am hoping my stall is OVER!! I am 190lbs, as of this morning. I started off at 235lbs.

Hi! I went to a seminar on VSG about a month ago and in that month I have decided to follow through with the surgery and will have my surgery on May 30. Anyone go from band to Sleeve having trouble loosing? I lost 91 lbs,with my band. I had a peanut butter incident which forced me to have my all my saline taken out in December. My doc then talked to me about the sleeve. So I was sleeved March 28th. Between December and March I gained almost 30 lbs, I went a little crazy figuring I was gonna be unable to eat for some time. After 3 years in and out of the process my sleeve surgery is a week from today. I have lost 44 pounds in the past 6 mos. I have a huge problem! I can unfortunately eat more than I thought after surgery I didn't get sick much and hardly do at all. I don't know I kind of wish I had a little more restraint. I want to do well and I think I am getting so stressed and than eating unhealthy foods. Vicious cycle. I have a high stress job and no time for anything. I don't want to seem like I am just looking at the negatives but I know we all know the positives... I desperately need help.

This is frustrating! I've had my approval since Monday, and I STILL don't have a date!!! I can't believe this!!! Arg!!!

So it seems one minute I am "yayyyy" because I hit onderland(actually it was a couple of weeks ago). Now I am like OMG! Mother's Day is creeping up and it will be the first Mother's Day since my Mom passed away (a week after my surgery) - but the next day my hubby will be leaving for Cypress/Israel where he will be for at least several weeks!!! Around 6 months ago I ran into a friend that had been sleeved and she looked amazing. This got me on a path that will end with my own surgery May 21. I have research the heck out of this procedure and feel fine with my decision. I will be paying out of pocket and will be going to Mexico for this..... It seems I have developed a hiatal hernia after having VSG. The hernia is causing me to have severe reflux. I'm not able to keep food down the majority of the time. Has anyone else had this happen? My doctor recommends surgery to repair the hernia, or to convert to a bypass. Should this be covered under the I year post op complications coverage?

I am noticing small changes now. Walking is so much delightful now & not painful.
