Just returned from bike week in Sturgis, (my first). It was amazing and exhausting and there's NO way I could have done it physically carrying an extra 90ish pounds! Ate what I wanted in small quantities, didn't work out for a week and a half and didn't gain an ounce! It's been almost 2 years and I still hardly recognize myself in the pictures! Life. Is. Good!

I now see wrinkles and folds on my face. I am happy nonetheless for being fit and feeling younger, even if does not show on my face. Botox and fillers are not my thing.

Went out for lunch yesterday with the fella and we were both pretty hungry. Everything looked yummy but I suggested we have two items, and see how hungry we still were and to go from there. So we shared a pitcher of white sangria, a small guoc, and nachos appetizer. Turns out that was enough. Never even bothered ordering anything else. Plus...it turned out to satisfy well into the evening when we had some fruit and cheese to nibble on rather than a full dinner. I really do prefer eating this way. Haven't been uncomfortably full in quite some time and I have learned to enjoy not feeling the heaviness or the guilt that comes from overeating.

I went to Cedar Point amusement park over the weekend and I fit into every roller coaster that I tried! Even the little tiny ones. I've been fearful of trying roller coasters for years now! We also met up with family members whom I haven't seen in a couple years and I received many compliments (including the classic "you better not lose any more weight"). I still have about 75 lbs to lose but it was nice to hear. I also walked 28,000 steps that day (my personal best) and my shorts kept slipping down, even with a belt. All in all, a good weekend!

It is so hard to believe that tomorrow is my day. It haven't hit me yet that , the old me is about to be gone and the new and healthy me is own her way. I just pray that surgery is a success and I have no complications during or after my sleeve. I don't know how to feel and it's like I don't feel anything right now. But I know it's for the best. My hw 240 my sw 236 , hopefully I lost a few pounds since I been on my liquid diet

Well friends...I am back from London. I walked for miles and miles. I did the bike ride. I had leg pain and it was very discouraging but I didn't let it stop me. I saw everything I wanted to see. I found London to be better than I could have imagined. I figured out the underground fairly easily and was off. My sister got me acclimated and I was out and about with and without her. I ate too much but with all the exercise, only gained about two lbs. I told the guide who took us on the bike tour about how I was nearly wheelchair bound less than three years ago and he was truly impressed...and not because he wanted a tip either. You can tell when someone is genuine or not. He…

What's a typical meal look like for you after the sleeve? 1/4 cup? 1/2 cup? 1 cup? Just a couple bites? Or more like 15 bites? How long do you wait to drink before or after?

Woo hooooo! I had my RNY on March 19, 2015. I've lost 62 lbs so far. I am disabled, so I won't lose as fast as many people. I've been wearing my same size 5X tops forever! When I was feeling optimistic a few months ago, I ordered my same style trapeze tank tops from Roamans in a 2X. I set them aside for a long time because they just looked too small. Last night, I realized all of my pajama tops were all in the laundry basket, so I grabbed a 2x tank top for the night, and it fit!!!!!!! I'm not even close to being confident enough to wear something snug around my hips and belly, but now I feel like I really did lose some weight! I know that many of us wear loose, stretchy…

I have lost 95 lbs. I cannot believe it some days. I look in my mirror and don't recognize who is looking back at me, and yet sometimes I go "There you are! I have missed you!" I have only 15 pounds to go..............yay me...

Surgery date: 12/26/14 Height :5'2 Starting weight: 250lbs Current weight: 188 Pre Pant Size: 20-22 Current Pant Size: A VERY loose 16 I can't remember the last time I wore a size 16. I look in the mirror and cant remember the me 62lbs ago. I never want to see her again. I have more energy then ever before. I have an amazing amount of confidence. So grateful for surgery. And so proud of what I have accomplished already. I know I still have a long way to go, but I know I will get there

I have been in plus sizes since my Sophomore year in high school. There are things I avoid: bathing suits, Halloween costumes, shorts, anything from fitting. The weight is coming off and my pants are getting smaller. I have been excited since before my surgery about the results, but now I'm getting scared. I need to go get some clothes soon. I'm just not sure of what to buy at this point. Oh and we will be going on vacation soon, tgat means a swim suit. Help!!

Seems like yesterday, and at times it seems like it's been forever. One year ago today I was on the table counting back from 10...and getting to like 8 I think...and here I am now. I started at 375 lbs., and weighed in at surgery 368 lbs. My goal weight I set at 220 lbs. From 375 lbs., 220 it looked waaaaaayyyy far way. I took a snap shot of the scale's digital read-out at the doc's office....219.4 lbs.! One year ago and nearly 150 lbs. later, I hit my goal weight. It's hard to put into words. I haven't the skill to relay the different levels of feelings I have over it. Joy, contentment, excitement, anxiety (weight gain), and more. I've kept up well with calor…

How long after surgery did you wait to do full blown exercise? And how do you stay successful by staying away from the carbs!! I'm struggling a little bit the last couple days wanting all the stuff I don't need. I want out of this funk!

I've now reached 110 pounds lost! That is more than my sister weighs haha I go around saying "I lost a Sammy" lmao And my mom keeps saying "Half-a-Hana" lol The feeling is incredible. I'm buying size 10 outfits, medium dresses... I'm working out and running a lot and just generally enjoying life so much more than before. This past weekend I went up to NY for a family wedding. I hadn't seen a number of these people in a long, long time and the response was overwhelming. Some people cried, they were so happy for me and my success and my good health. I felt and looked incredible. It was just an incredible weekend. Below are a couple of before photos and the las…

I won't lie, it's been hard on my marriage, now all of a sudden I get attention I never got before. I don't pay it a lot of attention because I'm not used to it (hubby is not overweight), he has become very jealous. My head still sees the old me, sometimes I make stupid choices that make me feel guilty, but I jump right back on my course & things have gone well. I started my journey at 280lbs, a lot of health problems and extremely unhappy. Today I am 180, 9 months out, year anniversary is Sept 15th, the day I considered the first day of the rest of my life!!! It has been!! I've battled anemia since, but was predisposed to it to begin with so it wasn't a shock. I …

I found that Quest bars make me nauseous and light headed. I tried 2 different one's on two different days to make sure it wasn't a fluke. From reading the ingredients I thought they would be OK, but they weren't for me. Anyway, does anyone else know of some other protein bars that are good with different ingredients from Quest?

Weight loss is definitely slowing down from the first 2 months (I'm a little over 3 months post-op), but I'll take it. Down exactly 75lbs as of this morning. I'm only weighing myself once a week because I don't like seeing the scale fluctuate (well, going up) throughout the week when I weighed in every day. Come Monday mornings, I'm super anxious to get on the scale at 6:00AM, but am always happy to see it trending down. I've also noticed I seem to be able to eat much more, but I've been told since I'm much more active now (strength training + cardio nearly 5+/week) that it's okay to eat a little bit more to keep my energy up. Decided to treat myself with the Whispbar…

Hi everyone, It's been a long time since I've visited the site but I thought I'd come over to share my recent success. I just hit my 8 month mark last week and as of today, I am down a total of 86lbs!!! I'm beyond thrilled! Please allow me to list all of the recent success that I've seen in non-scale form: * down to a size 16 from a 24 * I was able to get on the rides at six flags three weeks ago (it's been 7 years since I've been able to fit) * I fit on the plane, comfortably * I've been working out 2-3 times a week * I'm happy! Just needed to share, hope everyone is well!

For the first time in so many years that I can't remember, I wore a swimming suit. Took my kids to Wisconsin Dells and I actually participated. It was kind of cool because first off, I never would have considered going prior to my surgery...secondly...there are weight restrictions on some of the Water slides and I was well within the restriction limit...and yes...they have a scale at the end of the line and if you think you can sneak past, you cannot...there were quite a few making the walk of shame back down the line...not me.......felt........amazing!!!! (and my suit is sooo cute)

Hello All, Let's start a thread for July sleevers. I will love to see ideas for liquid diets, and prep for the big day. To start I am scheduled to be sleeved on 9July15. I will have my pre op on 24Jun15 (so I will update the do's and dont's at that time). I am excited and nervous for this big change. My fear is I don't like most of the things we can have on the Pre and Post Op diets so I am wondering how well I would do. After reading many many post I discovered most people state it's easier after the sleeve due to taste bud changes, the love for food disappearing and the non hunger feeling so I am looking forward to that. I believe the 2 week Pre Op diet is what…

There once was a women named Ellen Whose weight was too much for the ‘tellin But the sleeve and gym helped her get thin Now her size she is happily ‘yellin. 100 lbs lost since the start of the 2-week pre-surgery diet on July 30, 2014. About 150 lbs lost from my all-time highest weight. Pants size day of surgery: women’s 22/24. Today: size 6 petite for the most part! Percentage body fat pre-surgery: 49.3; today: 38.3 (still not normal, but working on it) Blood pressure medicine went from 2 different prescriptions 2X a day, to one prescription, once a day at the minimal dose! I am so happy! I am officially a week out of surgery now and never could have imagined that I would be here today, sleeved and recovering. I am still sore but feeling pretty good. However, I am having a hard time getting all my Protein in because I am SO SICK of the Protein shakes. I am having no pain drinking and can drink just fine, so I was thinking I could try some cottage cheese or yogurt or something. I see the doctor Monday, but dont think I will last that long on protein shakes, I gag just thinking of them. I called my nurse and she said that I should be able to move to the third stage soon because I am healing so fast. What do you guys think? Do you think I can …

Today marks two years from my lap band surgery, and I can honestly say it was the best decision of my entire life. Here are a few rambling thoughts about my success story, as well as some of what my life is like now... When I started I was 266. I think I last weighed in at 172, but I think I've lost since then, so I'm somewhere in the neighborhood—or pretty close to—100lbs down. When I started I wore a size 22/24 pants, and now I'm wearing a 14ish... Tops were 2-3x, now I'm in a 10-12. I recently realized that my "style" doesn't AT ALL match who I am on the inside. I'm awesomely cool on the inside, but I look pretty dowdy and conservative because I'm still wearing …

We are visiting in Chicago and went to the vitamin store they had small bags of potato chips barbecue and other flavors and they have 21 grams of protein and 5 carbs and 120 calories anyone ever try them? I am at goal for 5 months now just looking for something crispy and has some salt since my doctor wants me to add salt into my diet because my blood pressure is running low. Just curious.

Hi! Is there anything you guys suggest to be successful after WLS? I really want to lose 85% of my excess weight, which is higher than the average loss from VSG. I was wondering if anyone here can give me a list of things to aid in my success. Not just the basics: fallow your plan, don't eat a lot of carbs, drink water and exercise. Is there anything else you guys suggest to do, specifics? I would love to hear from some successful sleevers. I am kind of bummed out lately cause I have been in the dreaded 3 week stall. I will be a month out tomorrow, but I have been stalled for almost 2 weeks!!! I am trying to keep my hopes up though and plan for success. Please give me som…

i dont know about anyone else but i have been big all my life, tried every fad diet going and nothing ever seemed to work, a few pounds would come off here and there, then would all go back on plus more. i started my journey for a gastric sleeve never thinking i would even be accepted, it never really sunk in until the day of surgery, i also used to think there is no way this surgeon can change the amount i eat as my appetite was horrendous, its only hit me these last few days when i realised my clothes are hanging off me and look silly!! well anyway had a weigh in today and have lost 91lbs since surgery which will be 4 months ago on july 31st, never in all my days tho…

I will be 9 months out on the 27th of this month and was going thru my phone this morning and realized I had quite a few selfies on there. LOL So I put some together so I could really see my progress. I think documenting your journey is so important for many reasons. Number one is to help keep you motiviated when that nasty scale may not be moving as fast as you would like. Right now I have gone from a tight 30/32 to a 14/16 in bottoms, a tight 30/32 to a L/XL in tops. I really can't believe it sometimes. I am so close to Onederland I can taste it. I feel so good and my health is top notch now. All the problems I had before surgery are now gone or in the com…

Today is the one year anniversary. Exactly this time last year I was getting stuck with IV's and ready to have major surgery, to hit the reset button on my body and my life. One year later I can honestly say I have never felt better, ever. I can move. I can breath, I can exercise, I can enjoy life. I am so grateful. Some people who know me say I look like a completely different person. I feel like a whole new person. I'm really happy. Just wanted to share with all of you. Have a fantastic day!

Having a wonderful time. Just got back from Harrod's and spent a fortune. Been to tower of London, Westminster, Buckingham palace, St Paul, Kensington gardens, just to name a few. Can't post pictures thru the phone app but will upload once I'm back home. Enjoying the food as well but cosuming it in moderation. What a nice way to eat for a change....

I had my sleeve done July 9. I am currently 13 days post op. I had my 2 week post op Appointment today. On the day of surgery I was 373, today I weighed in at 341!!! 32 pounds!! I'm so excited!!! My largest incision is still giving me pain and I can't wait till its healed completely but I am definitely happy and glad I made the decision to take the steps to become more healthier. It's still a long road ahead but hey 14% of my excess weight lost in 13 days is a start! So ready for these pureed foods tomorrow. Not so much looking forward to going back to work though!

A friend of mine pm'd me yesterday and said that her college age daughter saw me at our forth of July parade and said that I looked so confident and Hot!. She then went on to describe what I was wearing. A blue skirt and tucked in shirt with my purse slung over my shoulder. Her daughter knew me from before losing weight and is very fashion conscious, so I'll take this as a very big compliment.

Don't ever let anyone tell you "you can't do this" ...not even yourself. I am the perfect example of the band being a TOOL not an easy way out. I struggled like hell to slim down and still do. I still have to count calories and go to the gym. I have days where I am tired. I have days where I am hungry. And I have times where the scale fluctuates. But I'm never giving up! To anyone that thinks the band is an easy fix, it's not. I thought maybe it would be too. But after my initial weight loss from surgery, I realized it was not enough. I lost 80 total and I can say only about 30 was a result of surgery. But it gave me the drive to press on. To eat better, and gave me the c…

So..most of you know I'm headed on my dream trip to London shortly. This is miraculous to me as only 2 1/2 years ago, I was barely able to walk a block and was only weeks away from going into a wheelchair. In preparation for a bike tour through St. James and Hyde Parks that I signed up for, my friend and I rented bikes and will ride in Central Park this afternoon. I've been practicing at the Y but I need to make sure I can ride a real bike and not just a stationary one. So...for those who focus too much on the scale and the numbers, think of me and others like me who note success as not just a number but in how we've regained our lives. In fact, I've climbed above 1…

hello fellow sleevers! I am 6 months out and I am down 70lbs...is that pretty much on track? I am 5'6" and started at 320. I just want to know if that is pretty much the norm or if I should be further down.
