Hello all, It has been great to lurk for a couple of hours and read all the posts and see what is happening and new in the world of Lap Banding. I come from England and have had my band in for just over a year. It has been an interesting experience and for a short while the band worked really well and I had the feeling of knowing what I was doing and how it all came together to help me control my eating. Sadly, just after January this year Ihad lost 22lbs of the 99 I have to lose and I felt the restriction lift - not a problem I thought just needs another refill- so back I go, I have small regular refills and had reached about 8mls of saline in a 9ml band. …

I can drink fluid several sips at a time with no problem and eat some fairly thick protein pudding about 1/3 cup in about 15-20 minutes. I have 5 small incisions on my abdomen with a mild amount of bruising. I have no pain when at rest but with movement standing up or rolling over there is one spot that burns pretty good. I have a larger abdomen also I think it tends to pull on the incision areas and I can feel that to if it is getting close to taking my pain meds The liquid lortab does its job. I still cat nap throughout the day I try to time it during the 30 minutes before or after a …

Hello All, I am new to this forum and I have questions regarding getting approval for the Lap Band by Tricare Prime and I am hoping that someone out there can give me some insite on this because I am starting to get discouraged. My first question is I was told by the nutritionist that because my BMI is 38.6 Tricare will prob deny me. But I thought that as of 03/16/2011 Tricare Prime was approving the lap band if your BMI is 35-40 with one co-morbit. Has anyone with a BMI under 40 been approved by Tricare Prime? My other question is the insurance coordinator at the surgeons office stated that Tricare is the hardest insurance to get approval from and that there is a chanc…

Hey there, I am going in for my sleeve on Nov.3 and I have only told a handful of people.... those being the people that will care for my kids and dogs while I'm having this done ( and my dad) I have not made it public knowledge or even ever talked about the options of WLS to any of my friends. Now that I'm nearing the date and I am starting to think about the pre op diet... I am wondering if I should tell my friends.. None of them are overweight - at all. I have lost 100 on my own and when I did, I managed to lose a couple friends along that way. Now that I've gained back a bunch - they are "friends" with me again. So I feel like the token fat friend in that situ…

Take 3 whole wheat crackers crush them to a fine like bread crumb add to the crumbs garlic and onion powders. Dip chicken in egg whites and roll into bread crumbs. Spray into the botton of the baking pan and Bake at 350 for 40 mins or until done. Serve with veggies. Soooo good. Enjoy
