New to the forum - Lap Band scheduled for Nov 30th

Hello, My name is Stacey I am 31 years old and have always been over weight. 120 at 12, 180 at 18, 235 at 27, got down to 170 at 29 but now back up to 225 at 31.. I am scheduled to have the lap band procedure done on Nov 30th, 2011 as a self payer. I am "in good health" just over weight, achey, uncomfortable!!! I have always played a ton of sports but cannot get a handle on proper portion sizes. I make healthy food choices, but I eat too much of them... I am hoping that the lap band helps me with my portion size issues!!

I am looking forward to this journey!! Thanks for reading!!!

Hello! I am just waiting for my consultation today with Dr Mitchell for my band in Vancouver! I wish you all the best and it's nice to see someone else on here in Alberta and going through it around the same time!!!

Good Luck , I'm scheduled for nov 21

you will do well with the band - my only problem was portion control at meals too and this band is proving to be the perfect solution for me. Keep in mind it takes several fills in most cases to feel any restriction - so the first few months of this is will power - as long as you are mentally prepared for that you will do really well! BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF US ON OUR JOURNEYS!!!!!:P

I was banded November 29, 2010. I was 33 and weighed 244. I am now down a little over 100 pound and feel great! You just need to follow your doctor's advice and you will be just fine :) Good luck to you!

I am at my second psy eval waiting to be called back. Keep your fingered crossed
