  1. Drink lots of fluids to help get the swelling down
  2. I haven't been pregnant with my band but a girlfriend was. She got a slight fill after she established her milk and was no longer concerned that less calories would reduce her prodction of milk too much. Congrats on your little bundle!!
  3. Yesterday I got fill #4. Went from 5.3cc to 5.7cc. This morning I had 3/4 an egg and 1.5 pieces of turkey bacon. STUFFED! I hope I am in the green zone now! Down 31 pounds since surgery Nov 30th, 2011 Just thought I would check in - now I am off for a jog while my little man is asleep.
  4. Just keep moving. Sounds like you are doing great! Stalls happen. Try more water and more walks. Also if you are at a weight that you have been at for a while in the past your body might just be happy there for a bit and you have to really work to get it going again . You can do this!!
  5. Weight gain after surgery is normal from all that sailine they pump you full of. Drink lots of water and it will be gone in no time
  6. Well you have lost more weight than I have... You should be telling me!!! hahaha
  7. I am roughly 3.5 months post banding and down 30 pounds. Started at 226 and currently 196. I thought it would come off faster but I don't think I am in the "green" zone yet. I am doing my best with the workouts now. My soon to be one year old is walking and keeping me very busy!! I am scheduled for a fill on the 27th, fill number 4... I currently have 5.3cc in a 10 cc band. I hope this one pushes me closer into the "green" zone.
  8. I am down 30 pounds in 3.5 months since banding... BUT I don't really have restriction. 5.3cc in a 10cc band. Most of my loss has been due to dieting. Why?? Because I told people about my band and they are expection big results from day one... :/ I can't let them down... But we know better right!! It takes time to get to the green zone.. I have fill number 4 scheduled for March 27th at 9:10am and I think that this one is going to put me in the green zone!! Right now I can eat 1 cup of food and be ok, not satisfied, but ok... Does that make sense??
  9. Thanks. I am done with fill number 2 @ 4.8cc in a 10cc band. I am sure I need another - BUT I hit 199.5 this morning!! WOOT!
  10. You know, the time in between being healed from surgery and hitting the "green zone" I am going on 2.5 months post op and able to eat anything, hungry after 2-2.5 hours. It is driving me bonkers. I lost 20 pounds in a month (two weeks pre op & 2 weeks post op) and have only lost 5 pound in the last 2 months.... How much longer will this last?? I have 4.8cc in a 10cc band.
  11. I got the cheese stuff. not so tastey... If you buy it use it to mix in better tasting foods. I.E. tomato soup, eggs, better tasting cheese....
  12. Get a ipod shuffle, they are cheep and light so when you start running it is not annoying.. Get your feet fitted at a Running room or shoe store that specializes in good shoes. Find some stuff you enjoy and keep pushing harder!!!
  13. I am tracking EVERYTHING I put into my mouth right down to the food I steal from my 9m olds breakfast.. haha I track on myfintesspal.com and my name on there is staceyspeager if you want to check it out/be friends.. I also use a HRM Polar F6. I love that thing!! If I run 30 minutes a track the calories I burn according to my polar it usually means entering 20 minutes of running via MFP to = the same burn #'s... I am also increasing the pace and weights during every 3-4 work out so I don't get caught up with it being "to easy".. I guess I will chalk this up to muscle weighs more than fat... Thanks folks!!
  14. If you read my "oh, December" entry YOu will notice that I am still 22 pounds down...... I gained 3 then lost three.. Woot?!?!?! GAH!!! UPDATE::: I was banded Nov 30th, 2011 @ 226. I lost 10 pounds two weeks pre-op, 10 pounds 2 weeks post-op. Now since Dec 20th I have only lost 3 pounds to bring me to 203... 6X a week I run 3-5km 1X a week I play volleyball 2X a week I play soccer I am eating between 1300-1500 GOOD calories. No snacking, no junk, whole foods ie: eggs, chicken, fish, veggies, high fibres... etc... I am losing inches but the weight is not coming off at all. Should I just chalk this up to inches lost and the # will go down later? Am I not eating enough to sustain my work outs? Am I eating too much (I am hungry lots!!) I have only had 1 fill to bring me to 4cc (had 2.5cc at time of surgery).. IS this what they call the Bandster hell??? Who has been here?? Who can help a girl out???

  16. I am one month banded and have turned to wine or vodka and crystal light. ( really haven't been able to drink beer since I had my kid, tastes change after pregnancy??) I have a drink or 2 about 4 nights a week and I "save" 150 - 200 calories on those days so I can have my drink.... I too had a $$$$ job and enjoyed the destressing time in the evenings and am having a hard time kicking it - even though I am now a stay at home mom now. I still need that destress time!! hahaha. By saving the calories you will def feel buzzed faster and will not need to drink as much.. You will definatly need to step up the work outs to burn the booze off later..
  17. 31 days post-op with the lap band - down 22 pounds... I only lost 2 pounds in the last two weeks. BUT the last two weeks involved many christmas and new years celebrations.... So I WIN! Hahaha, I am a-ok with pretty much no change as last year (or the year b4, or the year b4, etc, etc) I would have gained weight! Makes sense to me anyways.... Now today is January 1st! A new month, a new year!! A big day for big changes! goals for 2012: 1. Lose 60 pounds 2. Be the best mommy I can be to my Jeremy (9 months) 3. Schedule date nights and bonding time with the hubby 4. Be active!!!! 5. Complete a Duathlon in September (run-bike-run) I can't swim..... CHEERS ladies and gents!!! Here is to the best year yet!!! Stacey

My husband Chris thinks the rumbling is funny... My baby Jeremy looks at me funny. It is a new part of our life, go with the flow.
  19. @loretta - I wear mostly yoga pants these days... I haven't noticed much of a size change as they are so stretchy... I am fitting some size 15 jeans that I could not do up in November though..
  20. Yeah I am eatting mushy foods like refried beans, chili, potatoes, soft veggies.
  21. I am 16 days post-op and down 20 pounds!! Heck yeah! Well in the last few days I gained then lost 2 pounds and it felt like it took forever!! yeah, yeah, I hear you - we didn't put this weight on over night... lol. I think my issue was eyeballing 1/2 cup of food and not actually measuring... I fixed that issue now!! I eat 3 times a day, 1/2 a cup each meal and I am never hungry - but I could eat more if I let myself...... I slipped and fell 1.5 weeks post-op and my port spot still hurts pretty bad. It doesn't feel dislodged, just like a pulled muscle so I am not too worried about it. Stupid ice!! I am hoping to lose 6 pounds by Jan 1st - That will put me at an even 200 for the start of 2012... 6 pounds over Christmas?!?! That is going to take some hard work!!! LETS DO THIS!!! Happy (insert your holiday here) to everyone!!! <3 <3
  22. I fell bitter hard on some ice on Saturday. I was 1.5 weeks post-op and I did the classy backflop and slide across a parking lot... Fun times. Today (Thursday) is the worst of the pain so far, every day has been getting a bit worse. Nothing feels out of place but I think I pulled the muscle that is holding my port in place. Does that make sense??? It friggen hurts big time!!! Anyone else do something similar? Is there hope for me to feel better soon?!?!?!
  23. Great read! Great to hear that this will work if I put in the effort!! I am two weeks post-op and love hearing all this great news!!
  24. 1. I slept well the night b4 2. Pain was tolerable, took aobut 4 days to feel "normal" 3. rewarding? I am 8 days out from surgery and down 9 pounds!! Add the 10 I lost during pre-op diet and I am aready at 25% of my goal of 80 pounds!!! 4. I am currently on puree. I am loving turkey breast with green and regular onions with a bit of mayo. YUM! also, more protien shakes, yop, pudding, jello (all sugar/fat free), anything in a magic bullet. 5. Dealing with the cost... I am a self payer... You will rock this!!
