Bummed

Banded Friday. Just weighed myself and up 5 pounds! Really? I've had water, sugar free jello, and a little broth. I've walked 2-3 times a day 1/4 mile. Please tell me this is post op swelling? I certainly don't expect to lose right now - just didn't anticipate a GAIN!

please ease your mind and let your body heal itself. as mis said, you will given fluids and your body is in a WTF mode??? so take it slow.........follow your dr's instructions and stop weighing yourself right

now. your weight will go up and down all day long....when your clothes get loose, that is a cause to Celebrate.

congrats on your surgry. i just know you will be a great success.

Up 7 lbs on the morning after I was released from the hospital, down 11 yesterday- thats the 7 plus 4 more. Don't stress it. I went in figuring I'd be way up from all the iv fluids, and i wasn't disappointed :)

I began to feel more normal with the swelling gone about 10 days post op. Now is not the time to focus on weight loss...but to focus on healing. Remain compliant with your surgeon's instructions, and the weight loss will come.

Best wishes...
