So I went to my 3rd appointment on Nov.30th. I thought from what I had been told at my first appointment that we would be scheduling my surgery, only to find out when I got there that I had another month to go. I was crushed! Most people would have said wait a minute and asked questions but I'm a "go with the flow" type a girl. As much as I was upset, I quickly got over it. I gave myself one day to sulk and then was like ok, its only one month. And its a good month to wait through cause everybody knows that December flies by. Then today True Results called and they are submitting my insurance paper work TOMORROW!!! With a tenative surgery date of December 28th!!!!! I start my pre-op diet on Sunday! I am trying not to be to overly excited because I know insurance could deny me but I can't help myself! Everybody please keep your fingers crossed that they approve me!
Maybe its the Holiday season, maybe its because the kids are out of school, maybe its because I'm so ready for my third appointment but it seems like time is standing still. I am so nervous and anxious about turning in my insurance paperwork, and of coarse when I'm nervous/anxious I turn to food. GRRRRRRRRRR! I know I can do this, I want to be healthy for my kids but when youve spent your whole life using food as a "feel better" mechanism its hard to turn it off. I've been trying to watch what I eat and do portion control but everyone knows what Thursday is.....especially over weight people, its EAT EAT EAT day!!! Its get up, have pigs-n-a-blanket on the couch while watching the parade, take a nap, get up, have Thanksgiving lunch with one side of the family, take another nap, have dinner with the other side of the family, watch football and doze day! How can a person even think about a diet or portion control on that day! Can someone please hit the fast forward button and make it next week (just give me a three hours on Thursday please so I can watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade). I know I'm rambling but at least if I'm on the computer rambling I'm not eating. Damn now I want some mash potatoes
So my first visit to True Results was September 28th. At that appointment they told me I what I needed to do to be able to have surgery before Christmas. My insurance is Aetna POS and I needed 3 weight loss visits (they told me my visit that day counted as one, I had my second one on October 31st) 2 nutritional visits (had one the first visit also, will have my second one on my third appointment), a psych appointment (had that on November 4th) and weight history from my doctors (called 1week after my initial appointment and they already had everything they needed). My third appointment is scheduled for Nov 30th, at this appointment I will see the Nutritionist again, have blood work, an EKG and a breathing test. I am assuming they will submit my paperwork to insurance at this time.
Has anyone who has Aetna POS insurance gone down this road? I am curious how long it took to get approved. And then once you were approved how quickly was your surgery scheduled?
