The only thing I have been focusing on in my fitness pal has been my protein intake. Then I notice my sugars. What should that number for sugars be for the day and what else should I be watching? I normally hit around 800 calories a day and around 90 grams of protein. I had surgery 02/21/12 and have lost 105 lbs

Wootwoot!!! Had a few bumps but Im ok so far. Tired still and gassy : ( Very happy to be home and starting this new life lost 9 lbs before surgery. Pants are falling off already hahahaha. Just very thankful right now

Well tomorrow at 8 am is the start of a new life for me. Didn't sleep last night at all just a few hours this a.m. My house is clean as heck and ALL laundry is done and put away. Now what do I do? Today will be the last day I wear a size 22 work pant. They are falling off me!! I had to move up to a 22 back in May because the 20's were too tight. So I'm very excited to move back to my 20's!

Round 4 today I had a sharp pain in my belly area right around my sternum. It has gotten a lil worse and just is hurting really bad now. I had tilapia for lunch and dinner it was moist so I mushed with my fork and chew chew chew and mush in my mouth. Is food stuck?? Something else??? Any remedies???

So I had my surgery June 14 th my weight was 252 I'm now 213 so I feel like I'm doing good, however it's like I'm constantly waiting for the bomb to drop I mentally know I'm going to loss the weight but can't really believe it like I'm on another fad diet. My Surgi-vacation is over after today!!! I'm little worried about how things are going to go in the working environment. There's a lot to keep up with at the beginning of my journey as far as the vitamins calcium, meds, meals, protein and getting all your fluids. Does anyone ever get out of whack as far as getting all your nutritional needs, meds,fluids and protein down when you are at work? I've done great at home, but it seems like it's a full-time job just to keep up with everything. So I'm a little nervous about adding my real job into this mix. Hi Folks I wasn't sure how to start this thread but, I wanted to let folks know who are going for a revision that even though the lapband isn't in right now, it's still considered a revision if you've had a lapband before. Main reason...the flap they used to hold the band to your stomach may still be there which can cause complications with RNY surgery or cause changes to have to be considered. I asked my surgeon how things looked - I was told my liver adhered to my stomach so she had to partial unstick it from each other so she could do the RNY. Then the flap was still in place on my stomach so she had to undo that or give me a bigger pouch. She undid it but, I still ha…

Found out Thursday my band had slipped. Found out Friday I'd be having surgery this Wednesday to have it removed with my choice of replacement (the nurse originally said he'd be putting in another band but after all the issues I've had I told her I'd go with nothing before I had another band and magically it became my choice!). If I have no serious damage once he's inside he will do RNY at that time, if there's anything that needs to heal I will be closed up and come back in 6-12 months for the RNY. Im 5 months out if surgery and down 78lbs but fir the last 3 weeks the scale won't budge or even shows a small gain. I'm so frustrated. Any ideas in getting it going again?

Hi I had gastric bypass in April 2008 and four years later I have gained 20 pounds back. I wanted tro know if anyone else has experienced this and if so how do you handle it

I was told by my doc that he does not place a drain. But I have read a lot about them being used after surgery. My question is, has anyone had the surgery without the drain? Is there swelling in your belly after from not having it drain out? Does it drain out even without the drain in place? Seems that it has to go someplace. I'm very close to my day on weds the 25th of April. And I just really want to know what to expect. I plan on going back to work the following Monday as I'm a nanny and the parents need me. Has anyone gotten back on their feet in less than a week? Thanks, I know it's a lot, but I just have so much on my mind.

Well i had my surgery last wednesdwy. I cant believe it come and gone already ! Ive had a setback that is worrisome. I have developed pneumonia . Hard time breathing. Just dont feel well. Not getting my foods in . Did anyone else go thru this ?? The surgery and hernia repair part are going great but tired. Csnt stop coughing which feels really great! Well well. Well the time has come for my surgery and I am here @ the hospital all checked in and inmy room just waiting. Boy am I hungry I only had sugar free popsicles and water yesterday. Hello folks....What tools to you find helpful to you to stay with the program? What I mean is do you have certain items that help you along the way such as: Bento Box - to help with portion control Blender Bottle - to help mix your shakes without lumps food Journal - to help track your Protein, exercise, Water etc.

Needing a rny buddy in Arkansas! Surgery is July 6th

Hello all!!! I was banded in 2007 and because of complication of esophageal dilation I had to have the band removed. The band was removed in April of this year and initially my revision was for gastric sleeve, but a repeat UGI showed that my esophagus remains dilated and the doctor and I decided bypass would be a better revision in my case. I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday and am feeling very nervous. Not sure if it's because I really had my heart set on the sleeve or if I'm already mourning the things I won't be able to eat after bypass. Is there anyone else out there who feels very nervous or apprehensive as your surgery date gets closer?

Had surgery on weds. It was way worse than I had w ever expected. I was told the hospital I was going to was a center of exilence. After two hours of begging the nurse to take the pain away.. The doc called and let them turn my pump up. I walked to the bathroom and the nurse got upset with me for not being able to walk the halls. I fell asleep and woke up asking to walk. My boyfriend walked with me while the nurses talked. I would ask for something and after saying they would be right in, I would not see another nurse until shift change. I just finished a great book that had lots of information about Gastric Bypass surgery: all the ins and outs, information about surgery, recipes, suggestions, helpful hints, real story inserts, before prep, after work, mind work. I thought it was great and in a great format. It's called : Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies. It was recommended by my bariatric group and I can understand why. I highly recommend the read. Anyone else have books related to the surgery, that they recommend?

My best friend told me last night she did not know why I waned the surgery. If I apply my self I can get the same results. I was really upset I did not get her support. She is very over weight and she knows the health problems that this surgery could help. I feel that I can't talk to her about this and she and this are a huge part of my life how do I not talk to her about it?
