  1. Started by Globetrotter,

I looked back over my online food tracker at my weight loss; by the time I set up my tracker I had already lost 24 lbs since surgery 5 weeks prior (20 of those lbs were in the first 2 weeks post-op btw), but I just now decided to look back at the bulk (ha ha) of my weight loss and calculate on average, how much weight I lost during my steadiest era of loss. in 13 weeks I lost 50 lbs which averages out to about 3.8 lbs a week, that was from the end of month 2 post-op to the start of month 6. It seems no matter what the F*** I do, no matter how morbidly obese, no matter how faithful and perfect a patient I am, I am one SLOW A$$ EFFING LOSER. -.- *cough* sorry about that…

  2. I am 10 months post op TODAY and getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I have EVER made. I am at my goal and I feel pretty good. HOWEVER, I am always cold. I was cold before I had the surgery and lost weight, but now it is at least 10 times worse. I am wondering if anyone that has experienced this misery has tried using Cuddle Duds or Nikibiki garments? I think thermal underwear would be overkill and bulky and I would probably burn up, but if anyone has tried these garments could you please share your experience? It is 66 degrees today and overcast (in the deep south) and I have been cold, while running errands, I had the heat going full blast in the car....…

I'm three weeks post op and received the doctor's green light for regular food. I chose the stuffed salmon from Costco (yum!). I only ate 3 bites of a fillet and I'm stuffed....just like the salmon. The sleeve definitely works and I really dislike that "full to the top feeling." I'm not sure the total amount consumed was even 2 ounces. Using the sleeve is definitely a learning process.

Not sure if I'm asking in the right section, but need some help. Travelling to Canada in October and stopping over in San Francisco for the night. Looking for somewhere to stay. Budget is $100-$150/night. Needs to be in a safe area and close to public transport. My flight out departs at 8am. Will stay near the airport if I have to, but would like to venture into the city and explore. Will be arriving from Australia. Have previously stayed at a hotel near Chinatown (2001) and more recently Best Western Americana (2010), but that's a bit over my budget at the moment.

  9. I know it's not just me because I see other people adding lines between their sentences. When I go to comment to a post, whether I do a quick reply, advanced, or start new topic I cannot get it to let me add any spaces in between my paragraphs. I have to run my whole thought together into one lump of a comment. Granted I don't have the best sentence structure and grammar but I do like to break up my topics a little into paragraphs so it's easier for everyone reading my posts. Is it some newbie thing that until I make a certain amount of posts I don't get that option or is there something in my settings I need to turn on? I find it quite frustrating (yeah I know, a we…

Every now and then I get hungry. I look and all I seem to want is the bad things or a lot of the good things, either way its not going to work out. I have to literally stop, breathe, take a look in the mirror at my 50lb loss and get over myself. Is there anyone else that has these moments? If so, how do you work through yours?

So I must be a little loony because for the last 13 days since I have been sleeved the only TV I have watched is either food Network or the Cooking Channel. At first I think it was to live vicariously through Guy Fieiri and the judges on Chopped, but now half of the nasty dive food makes me think how did I ever eat sh*t like that?! I've moved on to the stage of thinking, "Hrmmmm that is a nice Protein packed meal, I wonder how it would taste puréed..." Am I the only one obsessed with these channels? Sent from my iPad using VST

Have you ever been afraid of what happens after? I mean once everything is said and done and you're "skinny".I keeping thinking that people paying attention to me once i lose weight, and people noticing me.I kind of feel like I don't want to be one of them... because won't it all be fake then?I feel like being as big as I am weeds out people with certain intentions from speaking to me... i mean yeah i don't want to be obese anymore... but at the same time i don't want to be surrounded by fake people.. has anyone ever felt this way? How do you deal with it?

I've been banded for about 4 years. I truly struggle with my daily diet. you know, what to eat, what not to eat? I have no problems taking my Protein shakes, it's really just a problem planning regular meals. I typically get stuck with any kind of meats (with the exception of ground turkey). Soups either are too high in calories or unsatisfying. Call me crazy, buy prefer to chew my food. Yogurt and puddings are not constantly on my grocery list. So, my question is: what do you typically eat in a day? recipes are welcome (with the understanding I can't eat chicken ect.). I call that "dinner and a show!"

  16. When I pulled up to scool today, there were police cars, ambulances, people being pulled out on stretchers. There was a mass stabbing on the floor where my class is. Someone was running around with a box cutter slashing people's faces and necks. If I had been there 15 minutes earlier, that could have been me! I pray everyone is going to be okay. So scary!

Judgy Wudgy was a bear... sadly Judgy Wudgy had no hair. Judgy Wudgy wasn’t so judgie - or soon to be pudgy - cause Judgy Wudgy gave up KFC/McDonalds/Taco Bell/In and Out Burger/Wings/Chips/Soda/Pizza/Little Caesars & anything Judgy ever ate to get her the RNY surgery. Judgy found RNY Talk as a means to share her success stories and not to desensitize herself and others about the % of folks who regain their weight loss because they couldn’t give up the things that got Judgy to where she is right now. Judgy is pre-op and probably needs to find another source of support but comes back to RNY for the FREE ENTERTAINMENT it provides. The end. And the moral of th…

I have my surgery this Friday and I live three and a half hours from where I am having it. The papers say that doing so can increase the risks of pulmonary embolism, stroke and heart attack. I know this is going to sound stupid but has anyone traveled right after? My predicament is money for a hotel being as I am self pay for surgery. I will find it if I have to but if its not necessary then I would like to try and come home. What are your thoughts on this?

I had my band in Sept 2010 and the night before last I woke up choking... It was soo scary.. I've since had fluid taken out and have been on a soft diet since, but my chest still hurts.. I vomited twice after choking.. I think it was a combination of reflux and eating before bed... I'm just hoping the pain subsides and it's nothing serious. In the 2 1/2 years since I've had my band I've only had about 7 vomiting episodes. This is all new to me.

I was scanning Hulu tonight for some new shows and came across a show called Fat Doctor. I watched the first episode to make sure it was pro weight loss and wls before posting. It's really good so far. A lot of information. I'm not sure if it'll be anything on VSG, but it's been bypass stuff so far. If you've got Hulu, it's worth checking out if you like those shows. They give me encouragement and drive watching shows like that.

I am almost 9 months and down a total of 100 lbs (87since surgery). I have noticed recently that I am able to eat a little more than I was able to. I am so scared of gaining my weight back... I think. Do I drink my Water too fast, did I eat a little too much that time? Did I get all my Protein in? And I am stressing myself out... What does everyone else eat at 9 months out! Does anyone have the same fears?

Protein was unbearable to me right after the surgery! I'm 7 wks out and can just tolerate some protein drinks. What do you think the best low cal is? Also the protein meal bars! Should you be able to eat a whole one? They are 1.59 oz and meals should weigh about 3 oz right? Soany questions! This has been a blessing but also harder than I thought. I never eat and have lost 42 lbs which I thought should be more! Impatient!!

What's on your Superbowl menu for today (sleeve friendly I hope ) I'm making a little spicy gumbo in the slow cooker and some baked buffalo chicken strips and some home made pimento cheese to spread on veggies.

Sorry in advance, this is a long rant. I wanted to write it out to try and calm my nerves as well as advise people to report suspicious behavior whenever they can. All of us have been rocked by the recent school shootings, there has also been a mall shooting (no one was shot) and ANOTHER movie theater shooting where the gunman was shot dead by an off duty cop. All of this within the space of about a week. What is the world coming to? The reason I write this is that I had a mere brush with a nutty person yet again and want to not only vent but to remind people to REPORT SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR where they think a person might be a real danger to others. We certainly do…
