Has any one else develop pancreatitis with their band?

I am scheduled with my doctor to see if the sleeve is the right choice. I was just wondering if yall could tell me how it feels. When you do get it and start eating how much can you eat? Are there certain food you have to stay away from? Any information about it would be great thanks in advance. :-)

I am 8 weeks post op and I average abt 9 lb weight loss every month-6 weeks Is this normal? I kind of thought the weight would just b flying off so much faster than it is

... to be wasteful. I was never a member of the Clean Your Plate club, that was never enforced in my family growing up, though at the same time food was considered the only justifiable expense. But I was admonished/critisized/guilted for any act of wastefulness, to the point of being denied access to many things because it was deemed a wasteful expense (including being seen by a doctor but that's another can of worms). So, as part of my WLS journey, I am learning to give myself permission to be "wasteful". Spending 10 dollars on cheap cosmetics at Walgreen's, instead of a trip to Burger King - that's okay!! there is one thing I haven't seen on here..... the negatives.....I wanna learn from others mistakes or weigh in on logic when I go to make decisions influence my thought to help me not make a mistake.....Anyone doing this surgery for the second time? What led them to doing it over? does your stomach stretch over time? I can swallow a huge mouth full of liquid on three weeks out is that normal? I have been really focused on drinking a lot of fluids. I had a packed half a cup of refried beans is that ok?

I'm going threw an emotional state of mind. I don't feel like eating much counting calories getting on line. I want to be left alone. I want to think about my life & what I'm going to do. My bills are much less & in the mean time let him(hubby) pay my bills. By the time next year comes I should be all done & if there is anything left I will be paying it off. I can & will struggle for my kids & I won't give up on them. I had them & I love them. Not being around doesn't mean I don't care about the group or others. I'm in pain & I'm hurt & I'm not thinking straight so I need time to think. I love you all

I'm 5 months post op and 78 lbs down. I have 13 lbs to goal. It probably sounds stupid but I'm having the worst time mentally seeing I have lost weight. When I see myself in the mirror I don't see any change. When I go shopping I'm always still looking in the Xl department. I've been taking pictures every week to try to help it sink in but doesnt seem to help. Any suggestions?

My son had MRI on his brain today. Plz pray that the results are great. Thank you my kids mean everything to me & I hope everything turns out good. MRI was done due to him having autism so his neologist wants to make sure he is developing fine to rule out anything else being wrong with him.

My son therapist put in a request for a special need stroller for my son threw his doctor. My son doctor put in a request for diapers for my son. After so long of me buying diapers I'm going to be getting diapers for free. I can't believe it till I get them by delivery. My son is getting a stroller with extra cushion & such I'm so excited. I'm so happy the government is going to help me. I really need this help. My doctor also suggested extra household help up to 4 hours per day. I do need the help but will look into that in September. I want to enjoy the summer with my kids.

So Ill be in New Orleans thursday through Sunday - staying on Canal street! I'm sure Ill blow the new way of eating out of the water wanting to try all of the good food and all, but at least i can only hold a little Any locals have suggestions on the best places and food to try? Good bars for mingling? Must do's and must see's? Have a locals meet up for coffee?

I just bought pill form vitamins and calcium and find I have to cut them in half to get them down I used to take liquid form multivitamin and calcium but even cut in half these pills seem hard to get down Any advice

I was reading something in my dr office that Said vertical sleeve is a 2 part surgery where the 2 nd part turns into bypass surgery I guess if u don't lose enough weight Ihas anyone had the gastric sleeve surgery that needed to turn into bypass surgery? If that is the case why Do people even have vertical sleeve and not just bypass surgery from the start? When I asked my surgeon hd said that it does happen not very encouraging Has anyone heard this before?

Ok Ladies (and men too!) I need some advice, opinions, etc. Although validation from friends & co-workers is nice, it kinda makes me uncomfortable. What I'd really like to hear is some feedback from my hubby, but after losing 33 lbs he hasn't said a word! No 'you look good' or 'I can tell you've lost weight' . Nuthin'. Nada. I am 5 weeks post op and ever since I started purée food at week 4 I hvnt lost any weight in almost 2 weeks I only eat 600 calories a day and I don't understand why I've lost 33 lbs from per surgery up until now but disappointed I hvnt lost any weight in almost 2 weeks and I barely am eating I expected the weight to fly off ESPecially in the beginning Has this happened to anyone ?

It will have been 6 months since my surgery on February 6,2013 and my hair is falling out like CRAZY. I know some loss is to be expected, but this is drastic. I take vitamin B1 thiamin. Is there anything else I can do??????

I know we are not supposed to have carbonation, but I was wondering if anyone still had soft drinks? If so, do you think it hindered you weight loss? One doctor told me that I could have it if I poured it in a cup and let it sit for a while. One doctor said don't drink it at all. Thanks.

How long have people worn their abd binder? I was doing ok then at 3 1/2 weeks post op I would get pain on my left side when I went from laying down to sitting up and from sitting to standing so I bought an abdl binder which has really helped Is it normal to get pain 3 1/2 weeks out

I can't be sure but I think I remember my nutritionist saying she didn't think strawberries could be tolerated I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and just had some strawberries w no prob Has anyone else tried them post op?

I am 4 weeks post op and when I eat my purée / soft food I don't get a full feeling I get a "stuck" feeling which I then stop eating BC if not I vomit I find myself bring able to eat again abt after 30 min of the stuck feeling going away Which makes me nervous BC I used to eat when bored and feel like I hope I don't just start picking at food again I wish I had the feeling Of fullness but I don't Anybody else have this experience

I am getting a single process color today and i wanted to get highlights tomorrow I have had no hair loss issues yet and am 3 weeks post surgery. Any advice if you think if i have these 2 things done that it could cause hair loss?

My 5 year old is graduating from pre-k.. This friday... I'm in love with her school so much I love everyone there. The teachers assistance nurse principle everyone. ...to making a really yummy pre-op Protein shake for Breakfast is that if I leave the shaker bottle unattended for any reason, my 13-year-old daughter sneaks sips of my meal! I made 16 oz. this morning (protein-fortified almond milk, 1/2 Syntrax vanilla Torte, 1/2 Syntrax Double-Stuffed Cookie, half a capful of Torani SF Caramel syrup). Stepped out of the car to grab a yogurt for my lunch, and when I got back the cup was mysteriously down to 12 oz. even though I hadn't had any of it yet. She insists she only had "a couple of sips". Oh well, that just means I can lower my calorie count for breakfast on MFP today!
