Do you reward yourself when you reach certain milestones? I've been debating what I want to do/get myself and have a rather long list of things. Which includes no less than 3 new tattoo's and one touch up/addition to an existing one. But, what else? Surely there are more things in life than tattoos? Then I remembered...yes! There is bellydance. Well, I never really forgot as I always seem to be thinking about it in one form or another...but there are so many shiny, awesome costumes that I have wanted, but can never find in my size. What are your rewards. Do you reward yourself?

  6. So I have struggled with a plateau for about 4-5 months now and I know that it is (mostly) my own dang fault; I've always been an excruciatingly slow loser but in the last 6 months I have stopped being true to my super-low carb/high protein/low cal diet. On the one hand, I justify it because I am committed to eating healthfully and reasonably and that means not living the rest of my life on a diet. Sounds good right? But, I think I'm toeing the line of making excuses, I let myself eat M&M's, bread, soda!! Grrrrr. Today I am having a Protein shake, 2 eggs, greek yogurt with a spoonful of jam, lots of hot tea sweetened with stevia, and probably a caesar salad w chic…

  7. Today I was given the news that I would be getting the lap band surgery. The dr will call me next week to schedule. I am so anxious to get this ball rolling because I am over being fat! I weigh 244lbs and I am 5'7. I guess my questions are has anyone experienced complications?? Also what does the lap band help you out with the most? Does it help u not over eat like it says it does? My problem is now I eat past being full. I am afraid I will over eat still!! or will the bad really prevent that? This one of my many questions.

OK, my wife and I dumpster-dive (actually, I call it curb shopping... but anyway). Today, I found a case, unopened, and unexpired, of LipoRush... Thermogenic nutricianal supplements that are supposed to increase energy and burn fat, to aid in workout productivity. The stuff sells for $80 or more for a bottle of 60 at GNC. That would make the case of 12 bottles be worth $920... like I said, they are unexpired (a 2015 expiration date) and never opened. Anyone know anything about these little jewels? A strange day at the curb.

I have went from a size 20-22 to a size 6 and have lost 81lbs since surgery and 121lbs from my highest. The problem is I struggle everyday trying to wrap my head around my new body. I look at other women and always wish I was as small as them, and then my husband says "You Are", but I just can't seem to believe him. The ClamCase for IPad that is advertising on this forum is fantastic! I just got mine, all white, (they have black and one called Trooper that is modeled after the Imperial Troopers in Star Wars; black and white). It has a bluetooth keyboard in it which to me is much easier than typing on the screen keyboard. When you close it it puts the IPad to sleep, wakes it up when you open it. Holds a charge well and charges easily. The case opens 360 degrees so you can set it up vertically or just hold it like an uncased IPad as well as horizontally to make it into a netbook-looking pc. It is rated #1 by PC magazine, Editors Choice. Check it out by clicking on the ads here.

They already have a nursing shortage, now they want to make it more so? I understand that they don't "want a patient distraction" but that is ridiculous. I don't want to feel like I've put my self through surgery for no reason but I'm leaning towards that. I wish the sugar cravings would go away. Hi guys!! I have a date to get the surgery in September! I chose the Vertical Sleeve because it seemed less invasive and appeared to work way better than the LapBand. So anyway, my question is about fruit. Am I still going to be able to eat it? I LOVE oranges and blueberries and strawberries and banana's etc!! I can not imagine not being able to tolerate fruit! I know it's sugar and carbs, But it's so good and good for you! I would like to become VEGAN after the surgery. After all we are starting over , right? Anyone try fruit and have a good or bad experience let me know!!! =))

The whole reason behind me having this surgery was because of the USCG wanting to pull my license. Well I have lost 67 pounds according to my doctors charts in 11 weeks pre/post op combined. I only have 32 pounds more to go to meet their requirements. It feels great to know that they can bugger off. I guess I am getting an early feeling of anxiousness. Its just around the corner lol. I am doing mad research and preliminary planning - and one of the things I am considered has to do with flying. Once upon a time this was not an issue but today it is. I am going to be flying from Tampa to San Diego more than likely, and wanted to know what your own experience was like if you had to fly to get to your surgery destination. Ddi you splurge and fly first class? Did you buy two seats in coach? Just wanted to get a feel for what airlines might be the best to choose from since I KNOW I will not fit into a single coach seat. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I just joined this forum. I had my sleeve done on the 27th of March (5 days ago), I am feeling amazing! I've lost 5.9 kilos, everything is staying down, I don't have any pain anymore, and no nausea! I feel like this is too good to be true. I am eating proper foods too (not liquified). I chew the crap out of it and tiny bites as well, but I wonder if this is really ba or not? I know the guidelines say at this stage I should only be eating liquified or puréed food, but I fel so good that I just went for it and it stayed down and I was much more satisfied. Can someone tell me if I'm doing something really bad? Thanks guys x

Okay, This weekend I went to the OH (Obesity Help) WLS Conference in Houston. I went with 3 other friends who have the band too. We had so much fun!!! But . . . . Why do people seem to think people with the band are a lower class of people than those who have gastric bypass or the sleeve? Several times when we were seated at tables with others we would discuss what surgery we had and the gastric bypass people really would be totally turned off to people with the band. One couple even said “Don't worry we won't move" (to another table). What? Please are you superior to me because you had a large amount of your insides removed? Or maybe your surgery cost more than mine?…

I've been an insomniac since I reached puberty, something (besides coming of age as it were) happened to me at that age and I've had trouble sleeping after that - for the last 35+ years to be exact. I have trouble going to sleep and keeping to sleep. For about 10 years I was taking the antidepressant Paxil daily and .5mg of Xanax. This left me feeling dopey and out-of-it, although I usually slept OK while on it. I gave it up as I felt that I was losing my edge and falling behind, physically, emotionally and sexually.
