healthy and happy

I am 44 years old, married and have a 16 year old daughter. I wish that I had had this surgery a long time ago. I have been the heavy one all my life. In high school, I was probably weighing in at around 170. Over the years I have consistently continued to gain to where I am starting this lap band journey which is 253. I have dieted many times on my own and have had much success in losing weight but I always put the weight back on. I have lost as much as 60 pounds and then put it right back on, which has brought me to making this decision to get the lapband tool to help me make this a permanent lifestyle change. I have missed out on so much by being overweight. My daughter is a senior in high school this year and I know that once she goes off to college my time with her will be limited. I want to spend this year doing all the things that I want to share with her. (riding roller coasters at the amusement park, horseback riding, skydiving, shopping trip to NYC, just to name a few) All of these things have been a challenge for me in the past because of my weight. I have made the decision that not one more day will pass me by that I have to bow out of an experience that I want to share with her becuase of my weight. My job requires me to facilitate a lot of classes in front of large groups of people. I am always looking for a podium to stand behind to cover the way I look. I love people,  I am an outgoing, extraverted person that is missing out! No more!! I have a lot of living to do and it starts today!! I did the research on the surgery, had to fight with my insurance company a little bit, but now I am ready!!! August 11- Surgery Day! Let the good times roll!
