I just dont know about this lapband had surgery Feb 2014 got down to around 180. Trouble started, so much flem, had to go to the dr and he had to take some out of band, helped for awhile, then had to go and get more taken out, he almost took out everything he put in. Gained almost all the weight back, went back to the dr and had him put some in, well now all I do is cough up flem and even during my sleep I start throwing up flem. I am so so tired of all the coughing and flem and cant even sleep on account of throwing up in my sleep. Not losing any weight even though I throw up all the time. On top of that we have moved and am trying to find a Dr closer to me and not havei…

I was banded 7 years ago in Mexico. I haven't used my band in probably 5 years and have it empty. I've been having port pain and some acid reflux. I just want it removed. Will any dr here in the US remove it for me if I had it done in Mexico?

Unsure if it's acid reflux or something else. I traveled and my band tightened. I came home and it got better. I caught a cold and I haven't eaten as my throat was too sore. Since 3am I have been vomiting a brown liquid. If I lay down its worse, it comes up and I can taste blood. I've never had this happen. No Dr. available I would have to go to the ER. Tara

Im from Arizona and traveled to Utah, Colorado and Wyoming in one week. I couldn't eat and could barely drink. I am home now and thought it would get better but things are the same. Now I have acid reflux at night and all day. I hate this. I've lost weight but it's water I know I'm dehydrated. I'm going to the Dr tomorrow but I'm concerned that getting fluid removed will cause me to gain and I've worked so hard. Has anyone ever had issues with traveling and your band tightening?

I'm now 12 days post op & going crazy on liquids. I have another 8 days [emoji31] We are currently moving house & that always triggers my anxiety & stress, it goes off the show. I'm grumpy, anxious, teary. And so bloody hungry. Urg.

First let me say i've never been so happy with the lap band. I had it placed in 2010, for 1yr it did nothing, I felt my love of food even prevented the band from helping, this was until my last fill in 2011. It was extremely tight, I could barely get much down and this was ok with me because food was my enemy and i'd rather deal with restriction than be fat again. Well the thing I dreaded since day one happened today. Last week I got sick. Threw up and slipped my band. So this am at 11am. We departed. I'm going to miss her. I hope I can do this with out her. It was a great ride....... so im now band free

I am down 115lbs after my surgery 9/9/16. I am happier and healthier. My blood sugar, blood pressure, and fibromyalgia are all gone. The problem is I'm never hungry and food is hard to eat. I'll go a whole day and forget to eat. When I do eat it is slow and tedious. It's just hard and often my stomach rejects the food I eat. I used to enjoy food so much. Now it's not worth the struggle. 2 weeks ago I thought I had appendicitis so I went to the ER. After they did a CT scan they said that my tube had come detached from the port and was flapping around inside me and I needed to contact my bariatric surgeon. I went to see him and showed him my scans last week and he said he thinks the band has also slipped and possibly eroded but he can't know without an endoscopy. So he scheduled one for next week. However, today I realized my period was late and I just found out I'm pregnant I'm in shock and too scared and nervous to be happy. NOW WHAT?? I have to wait to tomorrow to call my ob and my bariatric doctor... But I'm so nervous! WHat happens now???

I am looking for anyone experiencing post lap band removal problems. I am hoping someone who has had similar issues and found some kind of help somewhere. A lofty hope, I think, since I am not having any luck getting help. Not for lack of trying. I've done great with lapband but hasn't been easy. Now, i'm having a hard time not eating even even when i'm perfectly full. Sadly, other issues are causing this to be the most stressful time period of my life (it's REALLY high!), and i'm definitely a stress eater. still, I can't get past this problem and I don't want it to get out of control; hence, even more stress. i'm within 40 pounds of my goal, which is amazing. most importantly, I'm freaked out about the possibility of gaining anything I've lost. what is wrong with me. thx.

Hello all, I've been having some pain for a couple days in my stomach and I went to the bariatric clinic but I was only able to see the Physician's Assistant. She told me that the only way to know what's going on is to take out my fluid and get an xray and I'd be without fluid for a few weeks. I was banded on 2/10/17 and I haven't had any vomiting or nausea. Can this be a lap band issue? Can they check to see if my bank is okay with a regular xray? It's so frustrating. I haven't posted in a while, I moved back to New York in September and I am finally settling down ( a lot has been going on), before I left Arizona I went back to the Weightloss Institute where I pei ally got my band in 12/2013. After 2 years of not being able to afford fills I went back, found out I had kept 20lbs off, got a new EGD and was filled to my green zone. Now that I am in NY and I have some food restriction I no longer have a surgeon to go to ( they seem to not want to take a patient who has already been touched lol) but that's okay, sometimes I throw up food if I am Careless so I know I have good restriction. Hello, I need help please. I had my lap band surgery in 23 November 2016. My band is 9 CC filled so far. Before I did the surgery my weight was 82 kg (180.77 pounds) and my height is 174 cm (5.7). We are now in Mid February and my weight is only 78 kg (171 pounds). I am feeling like I am not loosing weight. Is there any problem? I am starting to regret that I did the operation from the first place. I am so frustrated and sad. Can someone please help me. Thanks!

Hi all, I am new to this site and the band ...I had my third fill yesterday (5.2) ...before this I had no real restriction unless I ate real fast or didn't chew enough...but If I ate slow and chewed well, I could eat a lot...after yesterday..i am having a hard time drinking enough water and def not eating much without pain and feeling stuck for most of the day. It doesn't matter whether its in morning or evening....should I wait a few days to see if it changes ? thanks for your feedback...feeling concerned

Im almost at the 100lb mark. it has been a long road to get here had a little hiccup with getting pregnant but i have noticed body image issues. one when i look in the mirror i do see a little weight loss but no like i thought i would be. maybe at 300 i seen myself smaller. but i see the same 300 lb person just shrunken in slightly. Hello everyone, Two days ago, I woke up with excruciating pain in my stomach. No nausea or vomiting. I'm not sure if I was just constipated. I went in to see the Physicians assistant today and she said the only way to know what's going on is to take out all my fluid and then get an xray. I refused because she said I'd be without fluid for a few weeks. I dont understand why they can't do a simple xray. Could this be my lapband or just constipation? The pain has subsided since. Does anyone know the daily calorie count that allows you to lose weight consistently every week? I have been stuck in the same weight for two weeks I need to make some changes. I am two months postoperative. Sw 237 Cw 211

Any help would be amazing. I got sick with gastro the other week and was vomiting quite a bit and ever since then I really haven't been able to keep food down and today when I was sick after only a few tiny spoons, it felt very different than normal. It was harder to bring anything up, more painful and it felt like there was a something in the way stopping it coming up but I haven't eaten for anything to be there and as I sit here now my stomach hurts. Had my band taken out on 1/17/17 it was one of the worst days of my life, it felt like my heart was being ripped out. I depended on my tool for over 3+years and lost 100lbs and the thought of regaining weight was a nightmare. I been trying since to stay on a low carb diet and eating healthy but it's just so hard. I do great all day but night time is the worst. Unfortunately I'm unable to get any other Wls due to the fact that I'm still under weight. But it's difficult living with 2 people in my house who still have Lapland's in. I get very depressed wishing I had that restriction again. Am I the only one feeling this way.

I've been fighting allergies and sinus infection for about two weeks with lots of drainage. Went to Dr who prescribed meds but didn't think about asking for liquids. Tried taking the pills but they made me so sick. Couldn't eat before taking the medication. Now I feel like I have a lump in my throats and can't keep anything down. Just sips of Water. What can I do?

Hi all Laplanders! I am almost 5 months post op. Have lost almost 30 lbs and feel great![emoji4] The one major problem I am experiencing is burning in my stomach after I eat. Has anyone else experienced this? It gets quite uncomfortable and I'm not sure what to do?

I'm not sure what to do my lap band has slipped and my BMI is only 31 so I don't qualify for the gastric sleeve I'm scared to take out my lap and I don't want to get back up to 280 again. Has anybody ever been approved for the sleeves with a low BMI? Can I live with a slipped band? Help!! Ty!!

I had a fill yesterday. Doctor gave me a half CC to fill me up to 6.75 in my band. He handed me a bottle of Water and I took a big swallow. We both heard a bunch of gurgling and I laughed because literally just an hour before I was able to drink a huge mug of coffee without a problem in a few minutes. Doctor took a quarter CC out to see how I felt and the water went down okay. He declared me "green." I didn't know how I felt about this. I thought to myself "What if it still doesn't work?" Hello, I was very discouraged and didn't think I would ever see results. However, I finally lost 30lbs. I still have more to lose but I had to look at some photos to really appreciate losing 30lbs. Don't give up! You will lose weight if you're patient, eat right and exercise.

I got my lap band in July of 2004 and despite having 5 fills over the next couple of years, I never lost ANY weight with it. I was a self-pay which is why I had the surgery done in Monterrey Mexico with Dr. Rumbaut so there was no support system in the US for his patients at that time. I Am banded about 4 1/2 mo now. I have been stuck twice, the first tiwhiteout an hour and eventually puked. Is That dangerous for your band? The other day, episode no 2 I got stuck on my 1st bite of steak. Never will eat steak again. After a half hour couldn't stand it I made myself throw up. I am going for my fifth fill on Thursday and I still have not felt much restriction. I'm starting to feel real discouraged. The took all of my fill out and measured so I don't have a leak. I had my lapband in September.

Still not feeling the restriction I hoped to have. Have had my first fill 1.5 weeks ago. I have a 10ml band and have 7mls. So a combination of disappointment, PMT and being busy at work has ended up being a bad week food wise [emoji22] [emoji22]

I'd sweet spot for long long time then during labour on my last baba my band did something funny and i needed to get de filled ...so I got a bit put back in.....was too much wasn't even able to keep down Water....that was 3 months ago and surgeon wasn't happy. Hi all. I'm kinda worried. I was banded in 2008. I never had any problems and went from 191 pounds to 117 (currently back up to 155). A few days ago I started having pain in my left side. Today I started to feel around and I noticed my port wiggles like it's in at least 2 pieces. It always felt stable before. Also, there's a portion of my belly above the port that is hardened. It feels hard like equipment, but there shouldn't be anything there other than organs! I have good insurance now- United Healthcare, but I was self pay at time of band. I was banded 9/11/13 and it was the best decision of my life. Starting weight about 220 now around 145-150. No more Hypertention, diabetes or reflux meds. I'm healthier and happier than I've ever been in years!!!

If you were, I'd love to hear from you and how you are doing. I've lost 40 pounds, have 30 more to go, and I've hit a plateau the size of St. Louis, MO. I've dropped five dress sizes, and all I can see when I look down is my gut. I still crave sweets, I haven't hit my "sweet spot" yet (restriction from fills lasts a week and then POOF!), and I wouldn't trade my band for anything, even world peace. I never see anything on here from people banded when I was, and would love to hear from you.
