I'm new to this site. . . I began my journey last week and have completed the psyc eval, had visit with nutritionalist, had blood work done, and attempted(!) the stress test. I assume I didn't "pass" because they are sending me to see a cardiologist. I'm very worried about it! My appt is tomorrow...I'm wondering how common this is and how many people don't get clearance for surgery from the cardiologist? I look forward to reading your comments.

I think I am so cool........ I have had the Ban since 2002, and have lost 200 lbs. WOW. Big deal, right??? Well I have been at around 390 to 400 for almost 8 months. Being a pro at beating the Ban, it's like now I am afraid to go get another adjustment. It's like I want to stay here, AM I CRAZY !!!!!!!! 390 lbs. is no place to stay, Right??? It's a good place to pass by, but to stop here is insane. As I look back on the past 20 years, I have lost over 1200 lbs and gained back the same. So I am a pro at deception & deceiving myself most of all. It's sad to think, I am here again, and am willing to just let things be the way they are, instead of hitting the mark. It wou…

What is new, what I could do that could possibly be "the one" that will make me skinny. Anyway... onto my point. <O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p Every time an Infomercial or Commercial about Diet products, pills or exercise machines come on .. my ears still perk up, and I for a brief moment still think.. is THIS the one. Then, my anxiety subsides and remember... OH YEAH!! MY BAND! I don’t Have to spend countless dollars/hours on this stuff anymore... Woo HOO!! Anyone else..…

  6. My first fill is in a few days and it will be done with the surgeon and the radiologist down in the x-ray dept. Is this common practice? My doctor is very conservative and I was only the second person he did the lap band procedure on. My only reason for concern is that the insurence company won't cover it because I have to use a certain company for all radiological procedures!

i went to walmart today, and decided i should start testing out the different Protein shakes (can be found in the pharmacy section). I decided to go ahead and try the equate cheapo shake first, because i assumed it would taste yucky, so i just wanted to try it and get it out of the way, and just work up to the more expensive stuff. I got the equate plus chocolate. It has 13g of protein per 8oz can and is lactose free. To my surprise it was VERY GOOD. It tastes much better then the carnation shakes. So for those of you out there struggling to find something they like, i'd actually recommend it.

I have nearly strangled on the veggie sausage patty that is a part of nearly every Breakfast. I broke out in a cold sweat at lunch with a triscuit with Tuna. The way I see it, I have about 80 pounds to go--If I have my period for the next three months straight I should be able to knock of those pesky pounds in quick fashion!!!

My surgery took 15 minutes! The doctor came out and was telling my mom how healthy I was. I guess he said I have SOOO much muscles in my stomach he couldn't believe it. He also said that if you just took my liver and looked at it, you would have never known that it belonged to an overweight person! Well just wanted to let everyone know I was back and I was doing good. Kylie

When the weight is coming off I have no probs motivating myself to exercise...but with it staying the same for so long it has been hard to motivate myself to do anything. Its funny how my day will be judged on what I weigh. If I am happy with what the scales say, I will get dressed up, put some make up on and feel good about myself. If the scales are yucky I will wear my yucky clothes and mope around in a bad mood all day. BLOW UP THE SCALES Anyone else like this?

I am not a big rice eater, but in the last week I have been in situations where I have been served rice (work functions)--I dutifully take a bite of chicken, chew the bejesus out of it, swallow it without any problems. It indicates there is a lady in Pierce City, MO who is committed to putting pressure on our elected representatives to pressure insurance companies to cover surgery for morbidly obese people. "Dear Editor, There are thousands of Missourians that are morbidly obese and need gastric bypass surgery to literally save their lives and yet most insurance companies will not cover the procedure. I usually don't use them, but she just gave me a bottle of liquid Vitamins that actually tastes really good, like thick mango syrup. It's called Floradix. I keep it in the fridge and add it to my morning shake to sweeten my shake. But I also take it alone sometimes, and it really goes down easy. It's like thick fruit nectar with just a hint of that vitaminy taste. Pretty good stuff. I prefer it over my new chewable Viactive vitamins.
