I just got my approval today!!!! Is anyone else out there using Dr. Hitchcock @ Malley Surgical. At one time he was @SMMC.

I live in texas and had no insurance to cover the band.. So me and my sister went to mexico 4-10-08 & got banded.. The care was excellent & have had no problems at all and excellent results.. Has anyone had any experience with any MDs in Rochester NY? I am scheduled for their information session with Dr. O'Malley and Dr. Moss. Any experience or suggestions? I am really hoping that insurance covers the lapband. I cannot afford it out of pocket. I am at the 40 BMI but I don't have any other issues, yet. I do have back, hip and joint pain but nothing that is arthritis. My BP and cholesterol levels are fine. I have no diabetes issues either. Any suggestions? Thanks! gilta

I'm at the point that they are going for approval at my insurance, but I am having big problems with mis and or confusing information about financials. It's starting to concern me to the point of finding another surgeon. Anyone have any wonderful advice for me? I have tried to "search" University of Illinois, but I can't find anything related to this hospital, in terms of if the surgery is good. I just wanted to let anyone in the Quad Cities know not to use Trinity Bariatric Center if you are considering being banded. While the surgeons are excellent, they are independent of the Bariatric Center itself, which is run by Trinity Medical Center, which is a hospital owned by Iowa Health Systems. The Bariatric Center program is a train wreck-totally disorganized. If you are considering having bariatric surgery in the Quad Cities, I highly recommend that you utilize Genesis Bariatric Center in Davenport, Iowa. Hello I was wondering if anyone has had Lap Band surgery done in Leeds? If so which where in Leeds they had it and who with.

My husband and I are both scheduled with Dr aceves in April 2008. We haven't read anything bad about him so far. I do keep seeing Dr. Ortiz and Rumbaut's name pop up all over. I hope I am making the right choice. Aceves was cheaper than Rumbaut and closer to the border. Those 2 factors are what persuaded our decision to go to Aceves but I want to make sure he has a good reputation. This is scary stuff to me, I hope we made the right decision!

I will be getting banded at a surgery center on the 13th of March (woot). Where were you banded? What are the differences? Pro's & Con's any insight you would have would be helpful. I have had surgeries in thepast but always at a hospital.

Has anyone used this Dr? I was thinking of Ortiz, but with all the violence on the boarder, I wanted to move away from boarder. Do I choose a surgeon or does my insurance? If I have to pick from a list how will I know which one is right? I got a list from the lap band site. The closest ones to me didn't perform 75 procedures within the last year. Is that vital?

I need help decideing between Dr. Huacuz, Dr. Guillermo Alvarez or the Doctors at Obesity Goodbye in Mexico. I have insurace here in the US but it doesn't cover weightloss sugery. I have been doing research since October of 09 and can't decide between the 3. I would love to know if you have used any of these doctors and the results. Hi, So I have been calling around trying to find a doctor in Boston. Mass general has a 4 month waiting period before you can even see the surgeon, and at Brigham and woman's you have to go to a seminar. Has anyone either gone through either of these hospitals and is there a quicker way? Or any other doctors to recommend? Thanks, Chloe

With waiting for insurance approval and everything else, I didn't get a surgery date until THREE days before we move across the country. My surgeon knows this and knew it was the plan all along. Now that it's getting so close, I'm wondering who to follow up with in two weeks. I'll be moving to the Colorado Springs area but can travel south to Pueblo or north to Denver. Anyone have someone good they can recommend?

I need to find a surgeon in the NYC area, westchester would be goosd also, that takes Aetna. I am starting my research and going to a seminar on Friday. I really want to this process to be fast. I am going to be 40 in October and I am 5'2 240lbs BMI about 43. I cant take it anymore. Its such a task just to walk for 10 mintues. I feel tightness in my back and my knees and feet hurt. I am checking into Lap-Band surgeons in my area and Arnot Ogden in Horseheads NY is the closest Hospital with a Doctor that does the band. The doctor is Dr. Subramaniam Sadhasivam and he is covered under my insurance UHC. I am going to look into some other doctors in the Buffalo NY area because I am about 2-2 1/2 hrs from there. I got my surgery in TJ and never worried about aftercare because I lived in San Diego. Now I've moved to AZ and NO ONE!!!! will touch me for aftercare. I had a problem where I was so inflamed that I need an unfill ASAP and had to drive 6 hours to TJ because I repeat NO ONE will touch me here. I found a couple doctors who will do it, but they want $1,500-$2,500 to "enroll" me in their aftercare program. What a crock! My insurance company is worthless, because I didn't have the surgery approved and was self pay they won't cover me if I have a problem.
