I was just wondering if anyone had BCBS of IL. and was trying to get their surgery done at the Weight Loss Centers (Top Surgeons) in Beverly Hills, Ca with Dr. Salimitari or Dr. Tourah? Hi all, I am getting banded in November in Frankfurt, Germany and I was wondering if anyone out there had surgery there before. I am also going through an agency called transform-med.com with a gentleman called Kai-Uwe Kleinholder. Has anyone heard of him before? I just need to hear some reassurance that I am in good hands :cool: I'll appreciate any information and support I can get! Thank you!!!

Has anyone used a doctor in Atlanta or the metro area? There are several and I would like to find a recommednation from someone other than reading a posting in the doctors office. I am looking for the doctors experience and the ost of the procedure. I visited one doctors office and they seemed kind of pushy and I go the vibe that I my money was more important than me being a patient.

I'm planning on getting banded and I'm hoping that those of you who got banded in Montreal can help me choose the best surgeon. So far it seems it's between the following people (I'm going for the private route): 1- Dr. Pierre Leclerc at Westmount Square Surgical Center. 2- Dr. Pierre-Yves Garneau at Rockland MD. 3- Dr. Steven Miller at SPA Diva Medical. There is also Dr. Nicholas Christou who seems to be really good. But he's charging close to $18000 while the three others are all around $16000. Sharing your experience with me is greatly appreciate as it will help me tremendously in choosing my surgeon. Thanks!

Please help me I need a Dr in the La area. I hope to get the lap band around thanks given. I can’t have it before due to the work I do. I had a Dr picked out about 2 years ago but before I could have the surgery my job changed insurance to a crappy HMO and he was not in the group. The approved doc is where I work but not where I want to get it done. My work is very seasonal so I am only at work during the warm months bout <7 mo a year. I am trying to get banded before the end of the summer and am searching for a Dr. in Mexico. I was leaning towards Ortiz, but have a friend of a friend who is the niece (yes...I know how this sounds) of a surgeon in Cd. Juarez that performs Lap Bands, but I cannot find anything on him. I've been through the border in Juarez before and would probably be more comfortable there than in TJ...but am trying to conduct as much research as possible. Got banded yesterday by Dr Rich DiCicco at Pasco Regional in Dade City, FL. Was ready to leave hospital an hour after I came around, but they kept me till I could take the second round of Antibiotics. I really expected much more pain, did not even get the gas pains I had been warned about. No pain to speak of, just a little tenderness. What a great job this team did for me, thanks so much. Today I had issues trying to drink stuff that might contain calories, so i probably maxed out at 100 calories for the day .. must try do better tomorrow. I did my research on the docs covered by my insurance and decided to start of with Thinner Future and see how it goes. They have 3 docs who do the bands and I'm wondering who would be the best for me. They have Dr. Wetter, Dr. Foster and Dr. Sanchez. I'm leaning towards Dr. Foster based on feedback on ObesityHelp.com, but I haven't met any of them yet so reserve the right to change my mind. Hello everyone, I am scheduled for surgery on 4/30. This past week I had a spouse of a CRNA express concern about my choice of surgeons. It actually freaked me out a little bit. She suggested I do my 'due dilligence' and look at complication rates etc. I have done all that, in fact did it before I selected Dr. Ray. Now, it is making me a little freakie. I chose him and his office because they were a 'Center of Excellance' as certified by the American Bariatric Center. Anyway, I would be interested in hearing of anyones experiences with Dr. Ray.

When I called HMSA they said all I need was a BMI of 40 or above (mine is 43.3) and I need to be at least 100 lbs overweight. I’m about 128 lbs over. I just want to come on here and post a warning to anybody in Las Vegas considering getting the lapband. I had the lapband with a doctor who promised that the first year's worth of fills were free (on his part). I developed dizziness shortly after getting the band and couldn't get any fills until I was over a year out. My doctor told me that my fill would be free since my medical problems kept me from being filled during the first year. Shortly after my fill, my dizziness came back and worse than before. So, I had an unfill by the same doctor and a few months later had the band removed by DIFFERENT doctor. It has now been 8 months since I had my band removed and I h…

From mid-Aug. to mid-Sept. I will be traveling to Ireland, England, Scotland and possibly Paris. I will probably have a partial unfill so that I don't run into any problems, but in the event that I do have problems, I'd like to know if there are doctors in the UK that are familiar w/ the Lap-Band. Anyone have problems with this doctor? I'm having serious doubts here ... His office has been here for months yet there is still no furniture there and today they had no power. Had to check vitals outside because it was so hot in the office. It took forever for him to find my port. I have 7 punctures in my belly now. Just not a lot of confidence in this man.:thumbup:

Hello. I'm just beginning this whole process (again). I looked into getting the lap band almost 3 years ago, but gave up after finding out that my insurance (UHC) has a WLS exclusion policy. Now, my mother and I have decided to do this together and I will be going the self-pay route. What's the first step to getting the surgery started? My fill doctor is in Boise, Idaho. His name is Dr. Luke Mayes. He is great, professional, caring! They dont keep me waiting long which is nice. When I first go in, I get on the scales that tells my weight, BMI, muscle, ect. The assitant takes my blood pressure and puts on the oximiter to see what my oxygen level is. It is thorough but quick. We talk about my needs and he just tries to help me decied what I need in a fill or unfill. He wants me to feel good about it and knows that I know my body. I like to have help with my decision but like to feel like I am in control. He does not us Floroscopy but that didnt make me nervous at all. He is very, very good and I feel that …

Okay, so I finished my 6 month diet, and ALL my tests and the last thing I needed was clearance from the cardiologist - well he calls me today and tells me he thinks I have a defect in my heart and I have to have an angioplasty done - I'm 33!!!
